Warwick castle not
Hope you get sorted gen

Gensola · 06/12/2021 12:15

not you win the £1000 prize! Strep throat it is - antibiotics and hydrogen peroxide gargle. Dr said to force myself to drink or she’d have to admit me to hospital as I am dehydrated from refusing to swallow. So have forced down half a cup of tea.

Not2bObvious · 06/12/2021 12:26

I nearly cried the last time I had strep diagnosed, because I thought if they refused me Antibiotics I'd be in bad trouble. The great thing is you'll be massively better after 24 hours on the drugs. Strep is rotten and can come on after being run down so now you rest up & when you're better no mad diet or exercise (wags finger sternly😉)

Not it will be back to 162 soon enough. l know it's galling though drat drat and double drat Smile
Gen can you drink really cold water with ice cubes in it and a suck on the ice cubes too if possible . Or an Ice lolly ? Hope the antibiotics kick in very soon sweetheart Flowers
Life glad you had a good weekend Smile
Been shopping so very good today , l suppose l am back to IF properly now thank God Smile

Not2bObvious · 06/12/2021 20:01

I'm ok about the 164 tbh, the last few Mondays I've been a wee bit lighter so I'm ever hopeful the stubborn fat is shifting.
Lack of sleep & eating after midnight made today a challenge. I've cut my cals from 1800 to 1750 for the next 2 weeks and even losing the 50 slightly traumatised me😂 I don't know what I was thinking, even contemplating going to 1500.
Are you happy to go back to intermittent fasting mrs, you have a busy life & you have had a rotten fright with the bp. I can just about hold off eating til 12 once a week (I like to brunch on a Saturday, aka eat lots of stuff!) but I get close to full on hangar. I'm terrible for projecting my experience of IF/5:2/16:8/Fast 800- I damn near dislike MMosley for his part in this.

Aww gen that's awful hope the drugs kick in fast for you

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/12/2021 06:50

Feeling a bit cold like today fgs. Hmm aerobics or not ?

Not2bObvious · 07/12/2021 07:41

Ooh, what is it they say symptoms above the head yes, below no or is it vice versa? Sorry you're feeling uck, maybe rest it off.
163 bang on today. And it's miserable today, schools off because of the storm so no jog for me unless I dreadmill it 🤔

life it’s always a gamble isn’t it - I’ve had exercise see off colds before but it can also make it worse.
DH is deep in my bad books for waking me up by grunting and huffing and puffing this morning, I only got asleep at 3am because of how sore my throat is and he woke me at 545, he was huffing as he didn’t want to get up. Now I’m wide awake and can’t get back asleep as my throat is so sore, really hope the antibiotics kick in today.
Was thinking of walking to the shop for extra tinsel for the tree, we need some silver/gold.

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/12/2021 08:40

I decided no so will just get doggo walk today

Happierwithouthim · 07/12/2021 10:56

Storm Barra raging here earlier but seems to be calming a bit at the moment, maybe I might bring in Christmas tree & decorations from shed after breakfast

Happierwithouthim · 07/12/2021 10:57

I generally find powering through makes me more sick in the long run

Happierwithouthim · 07/12/2021 14:04

Carrot onion & potato soup on hob
Peppers, tomatoes & sweet potato roasting in the oven for roasted soup, next stop for the tomatoes & peppers was the bin so frugal too!

Balance as this was brunch Grin

Very good use of veg happier, I feel like I'm winning at life if I can use up stuff rather than chuck it out - small but valuable win.
Just about back into the 162's. It's now 2 weeks to what I consider the start of Christmas proper, I was 166.2 & now 162.8, so 3.4lb down in 6 weeks. Might see 161'ish by the 22nd fingers x'ed

Happierwithouthim · 08/12/2021 11:54

I've no stock cubes though so hopefully flavour is ok

Happierwithouthim · 08/12/2021 11:54

That's great going on the scales

Not2bObvious · 08/12/2021 12:04

Thanks v much happier, I've just tried to keep chugging away consistent'ish. I listed all the days and made a note if I kept to cals, exceeded etc. Been doing that since the 22nd of August, so be interesting to see where I am come 22nd December, 9.2lb down since then so far. Of course getting up to my highest in a couple of years meant I started on the back foot but it could have been worse.

OP posts:
Happierwithouthim · 08/12/2021 13:48

That's a good streak too

Not2bObvious · 08/12/2021 15:29

It's been 15.5 weeks. I've dieted for decades but I reckon this is the longest I've stuck to my average calories week on week. Calories have been around 1800-1850, I'd one week of 1700 and I lost the most that week. It's helped I have no social life or holidays during that time. Pre CV that would have been unheard of. Whether we get away after Christmas is undecided, visit up north planned but mightn't go ahead

Mrsmadevans · 08/12/2021 17:43

Gen hope you are better sweetie Flowers
Not that is brilliant since August well done Smile
Been fine re food very busy with MumBobs so it helps and back to normal re B/P & meds .
Just keeping on plodding Smile

Mrsmadevans · 08/12/2021 17:44

Happier your soup and roasted veg sounds delicious Smile

Gensola · 08/12/2021 20:16

Thanks mrs the antibiotics have finally kicked in, I had a bit of a scary moment when gargling salt water this morning as a lot of blood came out and then mucus but it seems to have cleared the infection as I feel a bit better now.
Feeling like I might venture out tomorrow but I also have a masters assignment due for the Ms education I’m doing part time so need to get that sorted too.

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/12/2021 20:21

Could have been an infection pustule bursting gen

Not2bObvious · 08/12/2021 21:21

Sounds like life hit the nail on the head gen, better out of your system for sure. Strep is a nasty B.
Finding this a very hungry week - been a struggle not to overspill too much but that's the way it goes. Hadn't the energy or inclination for body pump today, maybe tomorrow

Have woken up feeling a million times better! Antibiotics are marvellous things.

Dr says I’m not contagious since day 1 of antibiotics is complete so going to go to my nail appt scheduled for today (will obvs wear a mask anyway!) which will be a nice treat.

Hoping to feel well enough to spin class by the weekend but will take it slow as it’s been a really rough few days.

I’ve lost some weight ironically being sick! 61kg.
