I would definitely be up for a support thread. I was on one, several years ago after DD was born, it was very helpful. I did lose about 3 or 4 stone over a couple of years. But, I have a chronic illness & the weight has slowly crept back on as I got more ill, DD is 9 now. Lockdown hasn't helped, I put a stone on in 9 months last summer. Managed to lose it between Christmas & March this year but I've stalled again. Bah.
People say that I'm not that heavy, but at under 5'3" & a small frame size (I take a size 2.5 - 3 shoe, & can wear children's gloves) I really show any excess pounds. I used to be quite slim & fit in my 20s, even despite having this illness, but since my health really went downhill I've lost quite a bit of muscle mass so my metabolism has gone down the toilet.
@quietsea - I have to work out, by a process of elimination, which carbohydrate foods I'm intolerant to. Some foods don't contain the offending substances - rice, potatoes, & quinoa are ok. Meat, fish & eggs aren't carbs so they're ok. Strawberries & rhubarb are the only "safe" fruits. There's a really short list of safe vegetables, & everything else I have to weigh. And high fat can be a trigger, even though it's not a carb. Never thought I'd say this but I'm bored of strawberries. I'm trying to be positive & look at it as a good way of losing the weight. It might take me up to a year to work through everything on the list. FML
