Currently 16 stone. 5'8. I am 19 weeks pregnant and gained a stone of that during pregnancy so far, but started off this pregnancy already very overweight at 15 stone.

I was 13st 7lbs in July 2020 and have piled weight on recently Sad need to sort it out.

PinkPurpleParade · 11/07/2021 10:47

Proper goal weight around 11st 7lbs but I'd be happy to be back at 13st 7lbs, size 14-16.

thesunwillout · 11/07/2021 10:49

I'm same height as you.

Was 11.7 beginning Feb, now 10.6 but it's taken forever.
Yet I've deliberately said to myself I can't do 'diet'.
Want to get to 10.
Never been below 9.8

Have struggled most of my life, and I'm 50 odd now and it's so hard to shift.
How old are you op?

I would prefer to be 9.5 but find it very hard to maintain! I can fit into anything at this weight.

5'2" and currently 10st7lb.
I've been this weight pretty much for the last 3years.
Before this I was 13stone at my heaviest.
Never been in my ideal weight range as an adult.
I'll be personally happy at 10stone.

MissMissTorrance · 11/07/2021 10:55

Although I don't see my weight as a huge issue now having been bigger most of my adult life.

If you got to 10.5 that is within healthy weight range for your height so well done you are virtually there although I understand why you want to be 10.
OP posts:
RubyGoat · 11/07/2021 10:56

I'm 5'3".
CW 10st 11lb
GW 8st 7lb ish

Honestly I'd be happy to get to 9st.

I lost a stone over spring on LCHF. Took a break & couldn't get back into it. I've slowly lost about another 4lb since.

Currently on a low fodmap diet to figure out my IBS triggers. Fruit very restricted. Vegetables quite restricted, not as much as the fruit, thankfully. Meat, fish etc not restricted. No gluten, lactose currently allowed.

RubyGoat · 11/07/2021 10:57

Oh and I'm 40.

Shopgirl1 · 11/07/2021 10:59

6ft, currently 13 stone, want to be 11st 8 lbs.

RubyGoat · 11/07/2021 11:01

Soryy, lactose not currently allowed. Gah. Practically nothing is fucking allowed. I have to weigh my lettuce; onions & garlic are right off the menu.

Ps I am 55 not 47😂😂 Sorry I am doing my accounts so wrote in wrong figure! Wishful thinking 😂😂
OP posts:
quietsea · 11/07/2021 11:36

My goal would be 10.5 or 9.5😬
But have put initial goal in as 11.5 so it doesn't feel as overwhelming.
I will reset goal when got to 11.5.
Do other people do this?

I think they say 80 percent diet and 20 percent exercise. Maybe concentrate on food side more but still do exercise but less at present. Walk for 30 minutes and when you get there walk back so hour walk maybe four times a week so this side of things doesn't feel too much. Not that I'm a expert as you can see from my info!😂 I just did did previously and it helped me a lot. I was walking 13 miles but took up a lot of time and gave up. I am now going to concentrate more on food side of things and walk.

Was thinking why don't we use this chat to help each other as it sounds like we are all struggling and we could use this as a new starting point.
I know people are at different stages in their weightloss journey but this could help with maintaining too.
I know there are a lot of other weightloss chats on here but we could use this one to give each other moral support etc.
What does everyone here think?
I definitely need all the help/support I can get😂

OP posts:
quietsea · 11/07/2021 13:59

Maybe not as no replies.
There are plenty of threads on here already.
Good luck everyone going forward.

I would definitely be up for a support thread. I was on one, several years ago after DD was born, it was very helpful. I did lose about 3 or 4 stone over a couple of years. But, I have a chronic illness & the weight has slowly crept back on as I got more ill, DD is 9 now. Lockdown hasn't helped, I put a stone on in 9 months last summer. Managed to lose it between Christmas & March this year but I've stalled again. Bah.

People say that I'm not that heavy, but at under 5'3" & a small frame size (I take a size 2.5 - 3 shoe, & can wear children's gloves) I really show any excess pounds. I used to be quite slim & fit in my 20s, even despite having this illness, but since my health really went downhill I've lost quite a bit of muscle mass so my metabolism has gone down the toilet.

@quietsea - I have to work out, by a process of elimination, which carbohydrate foods I'm intolerant to. Some foods don't contain the offending substances - rice, potatoes, & quinoa are ok. Meat, fish & eggs aren't carbs so they're ok. Strawberries & rhubarb are the only "safe" fruits. There's a really short list of safe vegetables, & everything else I have to weigh. And high fat can be a trigger, even though it's not a carb. Never thought I'd say this but I'm bored of strawberries. I'm trying to be positive & look at it as a good way of losing the weight. It might take me up to a year to work through everything on the list. FML Hmm

That's great that you keen on this support thread to as I find others peoples ideas/struggles and mostly positive stories really helps me. I'm not having a good day because despite starting off with good intentions my oh has bought loads of goodies/alcohol for tennis and then football this evening!!😂 I think I will restart tomorrow and start a food diary which has helped me previously as it is easy or convenient😂 to forget what I've eaten. The other big culprit is numerous cappuccinos in the morning with sugar. If I don't have I get a awful headache and grumpy so definitely addicted.

Age 47, started in February at 15st 1lb. Last time I weighed I was 11st 5.2lb. Am due to weigh again tomorrow. I'm 5' 6 1/2" (The half is important! Grin I have done it by calorie counting (As close to 1200 as possible.) and 16:8 fasting.
I will reset goal when got to 11.5. Do other people do this?
Yup. Originally I wanted to get down to 11st 7lbs, but having got there wanted to get down to 10st 7lbs. Now want to get down the 10st exactly.
Good luck to you losing weight. I'm quite happy to check in on occasion and share how I'm doing and read others experience too. Smile
