Ps I've found that plateau when previously lost weight then suddenly it started coming off again( not now unfortunately).
Maybe change one other thing or add in slightly more exercise and see what happens.
Drink more water.

toppocket · 12/07/2021 09:40

Thanks @quietsea I've decided to add in some extra calories (for a few days) and drink more water as I was probably on the low side. Fingers crossed for this week.

I jog 3-5k or hike everyday and haven't got time for more exercise with working and the kids. So I can only work on the food aspect.

quietsea · 12/07/2021 11:12
@quietsea I probably wouldn’t suggest trying to cut out caffeine while on reduced calories, especially not if it’s a new diet. Lots of water definitely good. I’d also suggest reducing gradually over several days - if you mainly drink fresh coffee, you can get some reasonably decent decaf fresh blends. DH & I both drink decaf, recently bought an aeropress, it does a single cup really quick & will do “cold brew” as well. DH prefers filter so we have a cheap basic filter machine also.

I just treated myself to some Korean Italy towels (amazing exfoliating bath mitt things) on Amazon, as reward for sticking with my dreadfully boring diet for a fortnight so far. No slip ups.

@Astrabees how do you feel Noom is working for you? They seem very popular but the prices are very high, it’s a lot for an app that claims to have/had 45m users & only provides online support & no physical product.
I had cappuccinos still this am before work but with no sugar so a start

@Earlydancing

I'm 61. Always struggled with my weight. I'm 5ft 4. Weighed 12st 5 in March 2020. At the beginning of July, I weighed 14st 12. But worse, I believe I now have diabetes.

Started 800 fast diet on 3 July. I'm now 14st 3 but loss is slowing. Need to get back to 12st 5 asap to try a reverse diabetes. Then my target weight is 10st 5 to to have a normal bmi. Amazing how reading about having your feet amputated can motivate you! 🙄

Good luck with weightloss. You are going back down so stay on this thread for support.

I'm 5'8 and I just want to squeak into a normal BMI for my height and stay there. Wow there's been some incredible weight losses listed here but every pound is a small victory particularly for those struggling with weight loss plateaus.
Great to know I'm not the only one on this journey. I'm using Noom to track my calories. Trying to stick to 1200 a day. Quite like their approach to changing your outlook on food/eating, bit American but on the whole really good!

beblind · 12/07/2021 13:54

@quietsea I started in February this year-calorie counting xx

I'm 5'8 and weight 12stone something. Gained loads around my middle. I'm starting HRT in a couple of weeks and aiming to healthy eat along side it. Ie cut out the crap. I'm 43

quietsea · 12/07/2021 16:05

Ps I am still 13.2 but it's only been a day 😂😂
Couple of years ago I did reach 15.6 so at least didn't put more on from that figure.
I did do lighter life for about 5 months in 2019 and lost almost 5 stone.
Felt great after but very restrictive and not sociable at all. It is difficult to hide you are doing it too although I did try hard😂 as people will try and put you off as very low calorie. I went from size 18/20 to 8/10 but have put three stone of weight loss back on. Wouldn't recommend although I felt great getting into smaller clothes. Breath bad in this too😬

I’m 5’8

Starting weight- 18 st 2
Current weight- 17st 4
Goal- 12st 7

I used to be 10 stone in uni, I looked great but I was mentally very unwell. I think 12-13 stone is a nice comfy area for me where I feel healthy but I’m not pressuring myself to fit into a size 10.

73kittycat73 · 12/07/2021 19:10

How are you today quietsea? Apart from staying the same, lol. I'm a bit disappointed, only lost 2lb in two weeks. Onward and downwards (I hope!) Will weigh in again next week.

toppocket · 12/07/2021 19:43

Scale had moved this morning!

Fingers crossed it's the start of another good chunk of losses.

What diet are you doing? I know what you mean by aiming to low as difficult to maintain.

Same weight 13.2.
Eating a apple with my cup of tea at mo.

Ps at least your scale moving downwards so going in the right direction. You should feel pleased with yourself. Well done. Keep going.

Are you resetting goal now as you said you would do this when you got to 11.5 and you are under this figure now?
