@73kittycat73

Age 47, started in February at 15st 1lb. Last time I weighed I was 11st 5.2lb. Am due to weigh again tomorrow. I'm 5' 6 1/2" (The half is important! Grin I have done it by calorie counting (As close to 1200 as possible.) and 16:8 fasting. I will reset goal when got to 11.5. Do other people do this? Yup. Originally I wanted to get down to 11st 7lbs, but having got there wanted to get down to 10st 7lbs. Now want to get down the 10st exactly. Good luck to you losing weight. I'm quite happy to check in on occasion and share how I'm doing and read others experience too. Smile
You have done brilliantly. Well done. Have you lost your weight since feb this year? Your progress is really motivating.

Ps you might see me on some other threads about weightloss as I'm feeling desperate now and need all the motivation/help/tips I can get.

I'm really overweight.
5 ft 1.

I was 21st10 in February.
Currently 16st 7.

My goal weight is 11 and then I'll go from there.

Yup, that's since February this year. 16:8 fasting is when you eat in a eight hour window, and fast for 16 hours. You can have a splash of milk with your coffee if you like but a 'clean fast' uses only water. The magic is supposed to happen after 14 hours fasting. I have read it can take up to 10 weeks to start working, and that it will change your shape first (Supposed to help with belly fat.) but also for some it works straight away! Please do post away on other threads, I'm on about 4/5. Grin

I currently 133 lbs and you can see my goal weight in my user name so I'm nearly there.
I felt such a blob at 151 lbs when I started - I had never weighed anything like that before Blush

I lost it with the guys on this thread:

Start weight 03/03/20

26 stone 9

Current weight 10-07-21

19 stone 3

Goal weight

10/11 stone. :)

I'm doing calorie counting and I joined the Jason manford weight loss group on Facebook and that's been helpful but mainly it's me alone.

poorfanjo · 11/07/2021 19:19

Forgot to say I'm 5 foot 3

132orbust · 11/07/2021 19:34

I'm 5 foot 2 so I may decide that when I do get down that last pound - and it is getting harder to lose it as the scale drops - that I would like to keep going for a bit.
The 132 or bust was to be by my hols in late August.
Onwards and inwards.

@quietsea it's been okay! I'm finally at a weight now where I can start exercising. I eat 2200 calories a day and try and hit 10,000 steps it's a been consistent loss with a couple of gains but I don't make any good off limits and I try and look at the week as a whole rather than that day

Yes you can review it then and if you decide you want to lose abit more you can but fantastic what you have achieved. I am pleased for you and envious in a good way😂 but well done you have worked for it.

5'3" I started with Noom on 3 February, wanting to be 9st, today I weighed in at 10 stone , so only another stone to go and I am now top end healthy weight. Also reached my interim exercise challenge if running 5k this week, so all going well. I just used to eat through boredom and stress, so I have been tackling all that and now food does not hold such a big place in my life. I"M 65 this year and want to be the best version of me for my retirement.

Astrabees · 11/07/2021 21:20

Forgot to say, I started out at 13 stone 1lb.

Fantastic Your story is really motivating as I am 13.2 now similar weight to you when you started so hopefully I will get there by winter time. Well done. I bet you are enjoying feeling more healthy and fitting into all those lovely clothes.

I think I will restart tomorrow and start a food diary which has helped me previously as it is easy or convenientto forget what I've eaten.
The other big culprit is numerous cappuccinos in the morning with sugar. If I don't have I get a awful headache and grumpy so definitely addicted.
I cut out caffeine when I was at university because it was stopping me sleeping, I later discovered it triggered my migraines as well. I mentioned it to my parents over summer break, who then decided they'd cut it out too. My mother had a monstrous headache for about 36 hours but was ok afterwards. Sensibly, she did it when she wasn't scheduled to work. My idiot father nearly had an extremely nasty accident at work, thankfully I was with him due to him being self employed, & I spotted what he was about to do. If you decide to cut it out, FGS, do it carefully & slowly. Caffeine has its place if you can tolerate it but you're right, numerous sweet milky coffees probably aren't the best idea! Grin

Yes I agree it won't be a good idea when working. I will do when got some days off. Also going try to drink more water. In the past I did a very low calorie diet and caffeine was restricted. My head felt like it was going to explode during the first four days!

Starting weight was 181 on April. 28th.

Have been in plateau for 3 weeks and im struggling

thesunwillout · 11/07/2021 23:52

Lol at putting in 47 not 55, it's exactly something I would do.

Xx

RubyGoat · 12/07/2021 00:22

@quietsea I probably wouldn’t suggest trying to cut out caffeine while on reduced calories, especially not if it’s a new diet. Lots of water definitely good. I’d also suggest reducing gradually over several days - if you mainly drink fresh coffee, you can get some reasonably decent decaf fresh blends. DH & I both drink decaf, recently bought an aeropress, it does a single cup really quick & will do “cold brew” as well. DH prefers filter so we have a cheap basic filter machine also.

I just treated myself to some Korean Italy towels (amazing exfoliating bath mitt things) on Amazon, as reward for sticking with my dreadfully boring diet for a fortnight so far. No slip ups.

@Astrabees how do you feel Noom is working for you? They seem very popular but the prices are very high, it’s a lot for an app that claims to have/had 45m users & only provides online support & no physical product.

Earlydancing · 12/07/2021 00:30

@ChunkyMonkey2020. Wow, that is really impressive. Well done you. 👏

Earlydancing · 12/07/2021 00:37

I'm 61. Always struggled with my weight.
I'm 5ft 4. Weighed 12st 5 in March 2020. At the beginning of July, I weighed 14st 12. But worse, I believe I now have diabetes.

Started 800 fast diet on 3 July. I'm now 14st 3 but loss is slowing. Need to get back to 12st 5 asap to try a reverse diabetes. Then my target weight is 10st 5 to to have a normal bmi. Amazing how reading about having your feet amputated can motivate you! 🙄
