Me too @Knittingnanny - football undone my dry efforts but will be back on it come Monday :)

Sooverthemill · 13/07/2021 12:37

Weighed myself today and I'm down .2 of a kilo! Not much but as we had a takeaway on Saturday that's pretty good! Wedding is Saturday. Looks like it might be sunny

BlodwinTheThird · 13/07/2021 18:25

Good job @Sooverthemill!

I also have a wedding on Saturday- I seem to have gone on a ‘diet strike’ though! Haven’t been going utterly mental but defining being mindful and not weighing so will inevitably pay the price. I’ll get back on the horse soon I hope.

How’s everyone else? @purplegirl13 you’ve been very quiet - hope you are ok x

BlodwinTheThird · 13/07/2021 18:25

not being mindful

Sooverthemill · 14/07/2021 09:23

Oh god can I moan non weight related. DDs wedding is in the air. Her bridesmaid has Covid and now DDs brother has Covid ( she has 2 half brothers) and that means her mum step dad an d 2 half brothers can't come. Her maternal grandparents are on the or way by train at this very moment from Aberdeen ( to east anglia) and can't be contacted. We cannot risk Covid with very poorly DD ( and both she and I are CEV following blood cancers). DD is in tears. I honestly feel like this was almost always going to be tricky during Covid. She has 2 options
Cancel
Do the civil bit and have a nice dinner ( they have hotel for night of wedding plus a glamming 3 days break after) and have party after Covid

Children!

BlodwinTheThird · 14/07/2021 10:43

Gif what a nightmare. Trying to get back to normal with Covid is like nailing jelly to a wall isn’t it!

Sooverthemill · 14/07/2021 15:32

It's cancelled. She's spent the entire day ringing all the guests and all the suppliers hotels etc. Poor girl

Sooverthemill · 14/07/2021 15:33

And I can now eat as much as I want today as it doesn't matter of my tummy sticks out on Saturday

purplegirl13 · 14/07/2021 15:33

Ok, I'm caught up on posts now...

Thank you for your kind messages and understanding, neverenough got it right when she said we've had fear drilled into us for so long, that a complete lift of all restrictions feels very unnerving (whether you're vulnerable or not)

I'm still feeling low, but at least no longer emotional (pesky hormones). After speaking to a friend, I realised it's a lot going on - feeling lonely/being alone, IBD flare up due to those nasty antibiotics, anxiety about restrictions lifting, lack of job/money worries, and my mum found a couple of breast lumps a couple of weeks ago so was urgently referred to breast clinic. She's actually there now - has had a mammogram, ultrasound, and they've taken 3 biopsies. The consultant is going to call me when my mum is back in the clinic. My poor mum - after getting ill with covid at the start of the year and needing hospitalisation, a couple of falls since, breast lumps are the last thing she needed. Hoping they come back as harmless.

Oh and to top it all off, I have achilles tendonitis so it's incredibly painful to walk so I'm following the R.I.C.E method until referral for ultrasound/physio goes though. So much for exercise/C25k now! @Morningmaeve are you still continuing with C25k? and are you back to being dry after the weekend?

@AuldFox great news on reaching your target!! Star for you!

@BlodwinTheThird 9st10! Amazing. Enjoy the weekend/wedding, and get back to it when you feel ready.

@EdwinaLIzzard you've done really well to drop 2lbs! How's this week been for you?

@neverenoughchelseaboots do keep dropping by if you can, let us know you and the little one are ok? When are you due?

@Sooverthemill oh no, your poor DD. What is she currently thinking?

@Knittingnanny how are you getting on?

@SwimmingOnEggshells @WellTidy hope you are both ok

Oh and now back to weight loss...

I went up to 9st12 last week but I'm ok with that given it was period week. I haven't calorie counted for about 4/5 weeks and can't seem to get back to it. As long as I'm still losing, I won't worry so much. Will need to try and be sensible on the food front now given my lack of mobility. Currently living on easy frozen food/shove in oven jobs to keep me off my feet.

purplegirl13 · 14/07/2021 15:36

@Sooverthemill have just seen your update. Poor DD!! I think you can definitely indulge but then see this as an opportunity giving you longer to feel more comfortable in your wedding outfit...for when it finally happens

neverenoughchelseaboots · 14/07/2021 19:20

@Sooverthemill that is really difficult! She must be devastated and you seem to have a constant battle to deal with. How you have any mental capacity for calorie counting and weigh ins astounds me. I really hope things ease up for both DDs. x

Good to hear from you @purplegirl13 - I too was wondering if your lack of posts was a sign you were feeling low. I do hope your mum gets good news. And thank you so much for still thinking of me 😊, I still read all of everyone's posts but can't really add anything except that I'm now 10 stone 4 (from 8 stone 10). A small part of me thinks at least I should get a good graph line after this baby arrives! Im getting my starting weight logged the day I'm out of hospital, even if I don't start doing anything about jt for a while. I'm aiming for a @knittingnanny trend line - it was very impressive!

All seems to be good with baby now after our initially bumpy ride. I have to go for fairly regularly scans but they appear to be precautionary. I'm due at the end of November so still a long way to go. I'll keep enjoying the food while I can!

Morningmaeve · 15/07/2021 07:55

Hello all. @Sooverthemill so,so sorry she has had to cancel. Covid seems rife at the moment - my husband works in a school and so many are isolating at this point. I am back in the dry wagon @purplegirl13 after my break for the footie. I think I am eating more as a result! Had to abandon C25K too for a while as hurt my foot but going to give that another go this weekend. Fingers crossed for your mum. Glad all going well with the baby @neverenoughchelseaboots

purplegirl13 · 15/07/2021 10:33

@neverenoughchelseaboots definitely enjoy all the food whilst you can! I'm pleased to hear all is going well with the pregnancy and they're keeping a precautionary eye on you both.

@Sooverthemill did someone manage to get a hold of the GP's who were en-route?

@Morningmaeve are you reaching for snacks when you would normally pour a glass of wine?

I have seen 9st10.2 on the scales today so hoping it sticks in time for tomorrow. Although I have some lovely toffee cream doughnuts in the fridge waiting for me later, and the use by date is today.

@BlodwinTheThird since Thursday is the new Friday for you, did you dare brave the scales today?

purplegirl13 · 15/07/2021 10:35

I'm not yet used to typing 9st when talking about my weight, I keep catching myself typing 10st before I need to correct

BlodwinTheThird · 15/07/2021 17:56

So sorry about the wedding @Sooverthemill - how stressful for all of you. I think it’s the sensible decision but your dsd must be devastated.

Good to hear from you @purplegirl13. Yes, I braved the scales yesterday and today - am up about 1.5lbs, I knew I would be, I’ve been very much out if the ‘zone’!

Sooverthemill · 15/07/2021 18:15

Thank you everyone. Yes the grandparents were found and rerouted to a relatives house reasonably close to Edinburgh so they are staying the weekend there. DD1 is still not sure what to do about rearranging as registrar says she has to rebook a date by end of tomorrow or lose her £600. I think £600 in the scheme of things is nothing as she's lost hotel deposits for 8 rooms plus some odds and ends though most people have refunded her which is amazingly generous.DD1 and fiancé are coming here tomorrow to stay at the hotel and then go on their 'honeymoon, as that us non refundable and they definitely need a break! I am exhausted and just wanting this week to end!

Morningmaeve · 16/07/2021 08:37

Morning all. Yes @purplegirl13 I am definitely reaching for the snacks instead of the wine and I am up a pound as a result! So the plan is no booze AND no snacks - obvious really Grin

purplegirl13 · 16/07/2021 10:06

@BlodwinTheThird expected gains are easier to deal with, it'd be worse if you were 1.5 up after being strictly in the zone!

@Sooverthemill try and nap at some point if you can, fit in the rest wherever possible.

@Morningmaeve good luck with the no snacking!

I am down to 9st9.6! That's 2.4lb down from last week, and having tracked I realise I gain before before my period, and then a decent loss afterwards.

0.8lb away from reaching 1st lost!!
3.4lbs away from being 'overweight'!

Good luck to those weighing in today

from not* being overweight

EdwinaLIzzard · 16/07/2021 12:01

@purplegirl13 well done on the weight loss, your downward graph is an inspiration, you must be so pleased with that progress

@Sooverthemill, I am so sorry to hear about the wedding cancellation, but I do hope your DD1 can at least relax and enjoy the 'honeymoon'

@Morningmaeve - I really can sympathise, I have given up the wine as I am determined to get my weight back under control, but need to make sure I don't simply replace it with something else !

Not an impressive week for me, just half a pound down so I am sitting at 10st and 1/2 IIb, I am going to try really hard to reach the 9 st bracket by next Friday.

I have to physically go into work from 26th July, first time in over a year, which means wearing proper clothes and I have admit (shamefully) that I am more than a little nervous about trying them on. So there is a massive incentive for me, I am on leave next week and will up the exercise and eat sensibly, the warm weather will help me eat less, but I need to make sure all alcohol is kept in the garage to ensure it is too warm to make a pleasant drink 😂

purplegirl13 · 16/07/2021 13:34

@EdwinaLIzzard I'd try those clothes on sooner rather than later in case you need to buy a few outfits to see you through. I know I've been caught out when I've spent far too long wearing elasticated items only to realise anything that has a zip/buttons won't do up!

You'll feel so much better getting under the 10st bracket, it's given me such much needed motivation as I was struggling.

oh, and good job on that 0.5lb loss!

I've been alcohol free for 3 weeks but a new friend is popping around tonight so there will be wine. I'm pleased she's visiting as I still can't move much due to achilles pain.

BlodwinTheThird · 16/07/2021 16:28

Just quickly popping in to say that’s a great loss @purplegirl13! You’re practically 9 and a half stone - my god I can hardly see you :D

Hope everyone has a good weekend and can enjoy the good weather as much as poss.

Sooverthemill · 18/07/2021 20:43

Just popping on to say we had a lovely weekend despite everything. DD1 and fiancé came down still and stayed in the holiday coat the they had booked for family and spent all the time here in the garden except for a beach day ( we are at the seaside) and we had a meal delivered by our favourite restaurant one evening and our baker/ chef son cooked the other evening. They have decided to test the august party as if it were their actual wedding and have a celebrant so they will exchange rings and vows. Then fingers crossed they've rebooked the local registrar for a date in September and I will pop down as a witness ( I can't go to the august party as I can't leave DD) and they will simply take 10 minutes to be legally wed. And I haven't comfort eaten at all! It's been okay

Sooverthemill · 18/07/2021 20:43

Holiday cottage obviously

Morningmaeve · 19/07/2021 08:04

Glad they have had a lovely weekend and have new plans to do the legal side and wedding party @Sooverthemill. All okay here but no C25K progress due to heat. Did have a glass of wine or two in the sunshine but will be dry until weigh on Friday.
