Lockdown stones to lose, please join me

I’ve joined many diet threads on here over the years and in time they have all crumbled into dust. This time it’s dire so I’ve decided to create my own post for the first time and just hope some lovely people will join me and this time stick to it until we are all thinner and happier with our bodies.

During the first lockdown I managed to lose a stone and was overjoyed. Last November my partner moved in with me for six months and whilst I fed him large meals I ate the same plus a lot of evening snacking. He is thin and can eat a lot of food without weight gain because he has a manual job. He left three weeks ago and I have eaten even more food. I can’t fit into any of my clothes apart from a couple of baggy t-shirts and some very old stretch jeans, which to add insult to injury ripped today.

I have to do something NOW. I think (am pretty sure) I have gained 2.1/2 stones. I am 5ft 4 and tomorrow I will face the scales and really lose it this time. Please if anyone is feeling overweight, lethargic and totally overwhelmed by weight gain, do join me, make me feel better and help yourself too.

Sorry can’t focus on the diet, I’m getting my dog tomorrow (around 1.30pm ish). I’ll ever sleep tonight.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Eek @poorpaws!! So exciting :) one more sleep! 🥳

poorpaws · 12/08/2021 22:46

@VenusStarr. I know, I can hardly breathe for the excitement and my stomach has a million butterflies 🦋

Hope everything goes well with your new family member today poorpaws, we need more photos Smile.

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 13/08/2021 13:32

yes, photos please!

poorpaws · 14/08/2021 08:49

Sorry I can’t get a decent photo, every time I point the camera at her the ears go back and the tail goes under. I’ll try again on our walk later. Bloody hell it’s hard work. I didn’t expect it to be easy but my other two hate her and she follows me everywhere, so needy. Guess Im going to get a lot of steps today. Food went a bit crazy last night I was so stressed. She is lovely though.

oh, she's adorable! fingers crossed the other two realise that soon. They'll all keep you on your toes this weekend I'm sure.

Trainers on, out for rehab run/walk (alternating). Just finishing my brew first. If the rain holds off I might try to do a little gardening. We've a little yard that is mostly hard surfaces, so everything's in pots. Quite high maintenance but hopefully the repotting will serve as a workout.

VenusStarr · 14/08/2021 11:39

Oh she's beautiful @poorpaws 🥰 I hope your other two settle soon, it's a big adjustment for everyone, but I'm pleased she's home now ☺️

I did a body pump exercise workout this morning. Was good to get sweaty! I literally haven't done anything like that in over a year. I wouldn't say I enjoyed it as such, but it felt good to get my heart pumping. I'm going to work out a plan of when I can do it during the week and commit to it. It was a big effort to build up the motivation, but I am glad I did it... You never regret a workout, right?

poorpaws · 14/08/2021 15:39

At last a decent photograph. I’ve done a lot of steps today!

Hello everyone! I'm back from my (second) holiday. Walked 8-9 miles up and down hills every day, ate dinner in the pub every night (inc pudding). No regrets Grin

Back on it now, expect a gain on Monday but hopefully nothing too shocking

poorpaws · 14/08/2021 21:52

@MegBusset. Welcome back. I’m glad you’ve had a second lovely holiday. Back to the grind on Monday, it’s so difficult after a holiday. I’ve not even been away and finding it difficult ☹️ I’ll need a miracle on Monday morning. Very good to have you back though.

She's gorgeous poorpaws I hope she's settling in ok with your other two. I'd say she will keep you fairly active.

Bit of a weird week this one, had my period and was recovering from vaccine so felt a bit crap for a few days, plus I ran out of coffee and my local cafe have closed for the month Shock I feel bereft! Have ordered some but it will take a few days to be delivered.

Anyway I managed two half assed workouts this week somehow, and my food has been good today. I'm hoping to maintain on the scales tomorrow, fingers crossed!

Itstheprinciple · 15/08/2021 20:52

Hello, I'd like to join you if that's okay? I would like to lose about a stone. Finding it very tricky due to being nearly 40 and on medication which has weight gain as a side effect.

I'm desperate to be in shape for my 40th in November so that is my goal. I use nutracheck to count calories (too many) and a fitbit to track exercise (not enough). I'm really good all day, then the wheels come off in the evening. I hate feeling hungry and I hate going to bed hungry so I end up snacking in the evening. I've saved enough cals for some Greek yogurt and blueberries tonight so I'm hoping that will do the job.

Itstheprinciple · 15/08/2021 20:55

Probably should have said:

SW 11st 12
CW 11st 12
GW 10st 12 (or a bit lower)

poorpaws · 15/08/2021 21:03

@Itstheprinciple welcome, it’s good to have you here.

Good luck to everyone for the weigh-in tomorrow. Fingers cross for no weight gains. I’d be happy with a loss of 1/4 lb at the moment 😁. I hope we see some good losses tomorrow.

poorpaws · 16/08/2021 07:42

Good morning

By some miracle I’ve lost 3/4 lb this week 😀

SW: 12st 2.3/4
CW: 11st 4.1/2
Mini goal: 11st 3
GW: 9st anything or 10st exactly

It’s a very slow process but even a little loss weekly adds up.

Good luck to everyone else weighing this morning.

VenusStarr · 16/08/2021 07:58

Well done @poorpaws 👏

Miraculously I have maintained, in real shock as I was expecting a gain after 2 weeks. Feeling pleased. I've just done a workout, starting as I mean to go on 😊

Have a good day everyone x

MegBusset · 16/08/2021 08:34

Well done @poorpaws - very close to your mini goal now! And good work on maintaining @VenusStarr

I have had a small loss since my last weigh-in two weeks ago - very pleased since I ate so much on holiday. I did walk up a LOT of hills though!

SW: 10st 2lb
CW: 9st 3.8lb
GW: 9st

poorpaws · 16/08/2021 08:53

@VenusStarr we’ve both had a miracle then 😀 well done on maintaining.

@MegBusset a small loss is a loss so good work.

The losses are getting smaller now but we’ve been doing this over two months so it’s to be expected I suppose. It does feel tedious though to lose a small amount but (can’t speak for the rest of us) I was a glutton and deserve to have to go through this as a reminder never to eat as I did before again.

Good luck to later weighers.

Itstheprinciple · 16/08/2021 09:31

Well, I've lost 1.5 lbs since yesterday! It'll probably go back on tomorrow but it is that crucial pound that tips me into an overweight BMI so it is important for me mentally to keep it off. I've just done 20 mins on the cross trainer and I've logged my food for today to help me keep on track.

SW 11st 12
CW 11st 10.5
GW 10st 12 or lower

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 16/08/2021 09:54

great news poorpaws, megbusset, and itstheprinciple- lovely to hear of your losses. venusstarr I am always happy with maintaining as it's still all part of a downward curve.
I've lost a pound, very pleased. Back to my pre-holiday weight. I have another break over the bank holiday but will put that to the back of my mind for now.

SW 13st 4(April)
CW 11st 13
Mini Goal 11st 13 Grin
GW 11st

Mulletsaremisunderstood · 16/08/2021 10:20

Wow, everyone did really well this week Flowers.

I'm miraculously back down to the weight I was 2 weeks ago, which is down a pound and a half from last week.

It's the exact same weight though, which makes me suspicious of my scales! But hey, after last week, I will take it.

SW: 10st 11.8lbs
CW: 10st 3.6lbs
GW: 9st 7lbs

Feeling much more motivated to keep going even through the slow weeks. I also fit into my favourite jeans much better and my stomach isn't as bloated, so seeing some changes which is good.

Bjarnum · 16/08/2021 13:13

Well done to all who lost or maintained! May we all become as sleek as Tilly.

poorpaws · 16/08/2021 21:11

@Itstheprinciple wow you’ve done so well, we must be a good influence 😀
@TheTurn0fTheScrew very well done on the pound loss. Pre-holiday weight so early is great news.
@Mulletsaremisunderstood we all like miraculous weight loss, just take it 😀 and very well done. Sadly I can’t get into my favourite jeans yet and it will be quite a while until I can but I so pleased for you.
@Bjarnum 1 lb is a good loss, so applause for you 👏 sadly Tilly is a lot fitter than I will ever be, not that I would want her previous life (wouldn’t mind her life now though, she’s a bloomin princess already).

I have to try harder this week and get at the very least a full pound off. I’m so good all day but in the evening I snack. I try to have low calorie snacks but I still have far too many. It’s getting near to the mini goal target (well done @TheTurn0fTheScrew I did notice you are already there and early too) and if I don’t stop evening snacking I will not make my target.

OP posts:
Itstheprinciple · 17/08/2021 17:47

Evening snacking is a nightmare. Definitely my downfall!
