Lockdown stones to lose, please join me

I’ve joined many diet threads on here over the years and in time they have all crumbled into dust. This time it’s dire so I’ve decided to create my own post for the first time and just hope some lovely people will join me and this time stick to it until we are all thinner and happier with our bodies.

During the first lockdown I managed to lose a stone and was overjoyed. Last November my partner moved in with me for six months and whilst I fed him large meals I ate the same plus a lot of evening snacking. He is thin and can eat a lot of food without weight gain because he has a manual job. He left three weeks ago and I have eaten even more food. I can’t fit into any of my clothes apart from a couple of baggy t-shirts and some very old stretch jeans, which to add insult to injury ripped today.

I have to do something NOW. I think (am pretty sure) I have gained 2.1/2 stones. I am 5ft 4 and tomorrow I will face the scales and really lose it this time. Please if anyone is feeling overweight, lethargic and totally overwhelmed by weight gain, do join me, make me feel better and help yourself too.

Definitely had a better day today, I walked more than 10k, and then did a 15 minute ab workout when I got home.
Food wise, I only went over my calories slightly. Overall this week was not as good as last week, so I'm just hoping by Monday I will have lost something and not gained.

poorpaws · 20/06/2021 07:51

Good morning everyone

Why oh why just because it’s Saturday do I have to eat more. I was doing really well all day and in the evening, just because it was Saturday, I ate more than I should. Admittedly it wasn’t the mega binges on chocolate that I used to have and I don’t think I was even hungry, but just because it was Saturday I had to eat extra!

My plan next week is to have two Fridays and no Saturday.

I hope everyone is doing well and keeping on track. Weigh-in number two for most of us tomorrow. I usually find the second weigh-in is a little bit disappointing so try your best everyone.

It’s raining here so a wet dog walk for me again.

@poorpaws Me too! Saturday is my day for going a bit mad food wise. And I did. It's a habit I would love to break. Tortilla chips with sour cream dip. Wine. Ice cream. Gah!

I did a kettlebell workout in the morning and went for a walk in the afternoon, although much of that involved watching DS2 running up and down very steep hills. I did get a bit breathless watching him. Does that count?

MegBusset · 20/06/2021 10:22

Morning all Smile

Weekends I actually find easier for eating - I get up later so have a smaller window to eat (I'm only just eating breakfast now and have been for a 5k run already). It's when I start drinking that the calories jump up. But I haven't had a drink since last Sunday and am really feeling the benefit, and not just in weight loss - am sleeping SO much better and less anxious.

Guestdressquery · 20/06/2021 16:52

I lost you all! Found again now though and am watching the thread since MN now only seems to show you very recently posted-upon threads in "Threads I am On".

Am on holiday now for a few days so goodness only knows what that will do to my eating habits. A stressful few days wrapping up things pre-holiday (and a work dinner with new boss at a very, very fancy restaurant where I saw two Hollywood celebrities - not together!) led to a few days of eating habits which basically went: healthy breakfast, healthy lunch and all-out dinner (duck a l'orange, Eton mess, venison burgers etc.). Have been hitting 10k steps and drinking 2l water every day at least.

This weekend I have had a couple of brunches but avoided alcohol and gone for healthy-ish options as opposed to the fry-ups I really want.

Thinking of us all for weigh-in/measurements tomorrow! And with thanks to OP and PP for views on electric scales - will purchase post-holiday.

Mulletsaremisunderstood · 20/06/2021 20:53

Well today has been terrible. Actually, it was delicious - but not good for my weight loss. We had a family BBQ for Fathers Day, I had a few drinks and my sister also brought coffee slices (I'm a sucker for cream cakes).

Hopefully not too much damage done - tomorrow is a new day and a new week and I will get back on track. Not looking forward to the scales tomorrow!

unicornsandchocolate · 20/06/2021 23:19

I'm back after two days of being bad. I guess I could have been worse though. But I've decided I'm off chocolate and crisps from tomorrow. I need to go cold turkey!

FunnyWonder · 21/06/2021 00:46

Well, I should have bought broccoli and carrots for the DC to give DP for Father's Day, shouldn't I? Or socks. NOT chocolate. It was lovely though - with great big chunks of honeycomb. I was a bit off track today overall, but not so far that I feel like throwing in the towel. I'm still hoping for a little loss tomorrow, but possibly not the 2lbs from Friday's early weigh. Maybe one little pound? Fingers crossed.

I hope everyone is doing ok. I think I'm definitely doing better than I would without this threadSmile

MrsMime · 21/06/2021 07:22

Morning all. 1 lb off for me this week so not as good as last week but a loss is a loss!
Hope everyone is doing ok.
SW: 11st 5lbs
CW: 11st
GW: 9st 4lbs

MegBusset · 21/06/2021 07:40

@MrsMime well done on the loss :)

1.5lb off for me this week. Considering I went out for fish and chips and curry last week, I think that's pretty good:

SW: 10st 2lb
CW: 9st 11.6lb
GW: 9st 7lb

Depending on how I go over the next two weeks I might revise my goal weight downwards a bit.

Guestdressquery · 21/06/2021 08:01

Morning all. Another measurement for me today. A little bit more off my waist and - hurrah! - about 1-1.5cm off my hips.

It is good to know that even when there is the odd meal out or piece of dark chocolate that it is still possible to make progress, as long as I keep the rest of the week on track with steps, water, and continuing to eat much less (fewer takeaways, way fewer pastries and cake) than I used to.

FunnyWonder · 21/06/2021 08:04

I've lost 1lb. I feel there is definitely more I can do, but happy to be moving in the right direction.

SW 11st 6lb
CW 11st 3lb
GW 10st

poorpaws · 21/06/2021 08:05

Good morning all, happy weigh day

I’ve lost 1.3/4 lbs.I'm pleased with that because as I said earlier I don’t do well on week 2.

SW 12st 2.3/4 lbs
CW 11st 12lbs
GW 10st or less
Lost 4 3/4 lbs

Oh dear I think I’m the heaviest here.

Well done @MrsMime and @MegBusset, we are doing so well.

I just can’t help but think if there wasn’t a Saturday every week I’d have lost 2lbs but I’m very pleased with week 2 loss.

Good luck to everyone still to weigh in. @FunnyWonder, these aren’t little pounds these are great big giant pounds. It’s like lifting a huge rock off us losing a giant pound 😀 good luck.

OP posts:
poorpaws · 21/06/2021 08:07

@FunnyWonder well done on your giant pound I was posting at the same time so didn’t see your post.

OP posts:
poorpaws · 21/06/2021 08:12

@Guestdressquery I missed your post too. Very well done on the cms lost.

If we all keep on at this rate we’ll be so pleased by autumn.

I’m still the largest but using the difficulty (as Michael Caine says) I intend to make that my reason to work hard at this (easier said than done I know).

BirdsandBeesmakinghay · 21/06/2021 08:14

I’m in. I need to lose four stone.

poorpaws · 21/06/2021 08:28

Welcome @BirdsandBeesmakinghay. We are a new group (2 weeks old) but great support and all losing slowly. Is this your Day 1? I suggest you weigh this morning with us (no need to divulge your weight if you don’t want to). Good luck.

Hi everyone-hope you're all okay-having fallen off the wagon spectacularly for a few days finishing with a major cake overload on father's day -for which I have no excuse as I'm not even a father - have decided to rein it in slightly and give it another go - so here goes - poo sticks for breakfast today.

FunnyWonder · 21/06/2021 09:10

@BirdsandBeesmakinghay Welcome

I agree @poorpaws someone needs to scrap Saturday! And you're right, every pound lost is a big rock.

DP coerced me into having my photo taken as we were out with friends we hadn't seen in a long time. Oh dear. Think I found my motivation!

muddledmidget · 21/06/2021 09:11

@poorpaws you're not the heaviest! But week 2 has gone OK for me, I've lost the 1lb I put on last week and another 2, weighing in at 12st5 this morning, so I'm happy with that.

Had some motivation yesterday when I saw my sisters, their diets are going really well and they're looking quite small, so I definitely don't want to be the fat one. Back to the supermarket this afternoon to fill up with fruit and veg, and going to try and reduce carbs even more this week, as well as try 16:8, as I'm sure I eat breakfast just out of habit

poorpaws · 21/06/2021 09:11

@Eviebeans welcome back and very well done for giving it another go after a little slip. I said at the very beginning I didn’t want this to be a thread that disappeared quickly, I want it to be going for a very long time even if we are all thin and just maintaining.

OP posts:
poorpaws · 21/06/2021 09:22

@FunnyWonder and @muddledmidget you’ve both found motivation and so have I, that will keep us away from cake, chocolate, wine (whatever your addiction is).

My motivation - I got engaged a year ago tomorrow and my partner printed off photographs of us on the day, I was about 2 st lighter ☹️ Made me re-evaluate! I looked so much better then.

Heavy rain here so probably no dog walk (one of my dogs hates the rain on her ears and is miserable when out in it). We are off to a garden centre for climbing roses. It has a lovely cafe where we usually have ham eggs and chips, not today I think.

Mulletsaremisunderstood · 21/06/2021 10:11

I was afraid to step on the scales this morning, the curse of week 2 and all that. But I lost almost another pound from last week -

SW: 10st 11.8lbs
CW: 10st 8.6lbs
GW: 9st 7lbs

After yesterday's scoffing I'm relieved I haven't gained anything, and it has spurred me on to do some exercise today and keep to my calories.

Hope everyone has a good Monday!

Timetochangeitup · 21/06/2021 13:04

Hi

How's everyone doing this week?

Have now complete 3 weeks of Ww. Lost a further 2 pounds making it 8 in total

Don't look any different yet. I have another 1.5 stone to lose before I feel comfortable (but still overweight)

Have been tracking everything I eat and really cut down on wine. Lunch out on Saturday, had 3 glasses of Prosecco but that was it all weekend

Very restrained the rest of the week

Timetochangeitup · 21/06/2021 13:08

Forgot to add

SW 12 stone
CW 11.6
GW 10 stone

Only 5ft 1 so can't afford these extra stones
