Happy June everyone. Here is the new thread. Not sure what my aims are this month, mainly to try and get on a more even keel. I'm up from the start of May 9st5.25 this morning. Hope everyone is still enjoying the good weather.

I did ok today.
15000 steps and about 1300 calories
B. Coffee & apple
L. Big smoked salmon, fennel & chicory salad
D. Ginger soy salmon, rice & broccoli mini tub of Hagan daz (these are nice only 150 calories)
S. Strawberries & a piece of toblerone

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 05/06/2021 21:41

You did really well!!

I walked around 6k I'd say.
Strawberries and Greek yoghurt, 2x cappuccino
Broccoli nutty rice
Sweet and sour chicken, brown rice
B&B pudding with cream. Eek! But it is OK. Slowly does it. 8st 10 on the nose is my aim for the week ahead.

NutellaEllaElla · 05/06/2021 22:47

Hey, well i went to the hen do, it was more of an afternoon tea thing. I wasn't successful at just having one cupcake, i forgot about that promise to myself entirely. Think I kept to under 2500 (which sounds like loads dammit) and walked about 5 miles. I plan to get back to low calorie days for the rest of the weekend and week. Hopefully (BBQ tomorrow 🙄).

FlatteredFool · 06/06/2021 06:54

@NutellaEllaElla don't beat yourself up, it's not like you do it every day.

My body is ok I suppose. It's carried 3 children and breastfed for a total of 9 years and gets me from A to B daily walking many miles. I just wish it looked better!

I don't know why I'm awake so early on a Sunday. I'm debating getting up as I've been awake an hour now and I'm getting hungry.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Octopus37 · 06/06/2021 08:51

All that JS stuff makes sense, true about the carbonation I think. @Flatteredfool, I'm with you on the whole appreciating your body thing. Got upset a few weeks ago when I found an old photo from when my boys were little, I was about a stone and a half lighter than now. True though that we'll be saying the same thing in another 10 years. I was having this conversation with my sister the other day, I hate photos of myself cause I've got an eye problem which looks at its absolute worst in photos, although I'm ok with side on ones. We need to remember what our bodies have done and continue to do. @NutellaEllaElla dont beat yourself up, life is too short and we have missed out on so much socialising. You did a lot of steps by the sounds of it. I was 9st3.25 this morning which was the lowest I've been for a little while, was quite peckish in the evening after I'd eaten dinner, but manged not to eat anything so hopefully hopefully I'm getting on the right track after all this time.

Scales are up by over a pound despite burning over 2500 calories and eating considerably less than that 🤷‍♀️

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 06/06/2021 11:19

So annoying Honeybadger, that just can't be tho so keep doing what you're doing. That's great octopus, a low from looking after yourself. I'm up after my take away and dessert to 8st 12 but I did 5k walk there this AM and a fasted breakfast, apparently a good thing so I'm feeling good. Our bodies are truly amazing for sure. My dad used to say he wished we'd stop looking in mirrors and criticising ourselves... If they weren't there, we'd probably feel better!! Have a lovely sunny Sunday everyone.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 06/06/2021 11:56

NSV for me. I've successfully put on a pair of jeans I had hidden away since before Christmas. Yippee Smile

TheHoneyBadger · 06/06/2021 12:33

Nice hey.

Trying not to be annoyed with the scales but my weight does seem to be a bit sticky lately. Not sure if I need to do more or trust that it will pass. Might go look at my Fitbit graphs and check my perception against reality.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 06/06/2021 19:12

Thank you!
Logging for the day: 5k walk, 2L water
Ono and latte
Nutty broccoli rice
Soda bread and roast chicken, not v hungry after the filling, and late, lunch.
The summer wardrobe has been put in situ and the winter stuff is gone. Everything dusted, hoovered and cleaned. Feels good. Ready for an early enough night and a good week ahead. Will walk early in the morning again tomorrow, works well when not in work.

MakkaPakkas · 06/06/2021 19:37

Well done @HeyGirlHeyBoy!

@Octopus37 that's so annoying - perhaps the scales are off.

I've had a hungry day today.
B. Teacake & coffee
L. Samosa with chutney, cherry flapjack
D. Fennel salmon salad, one chicken taco with cheese
S. 2 apples, pineapple chunks

Total slightly over 1700 calories
So far 7000 steps, but I'll go out for a wander later and get it up to 10,000

MakkaPakkas · 06/06/2021 19:50

Sorry, I meant @TheHoneyBadger there not @Octopus37.
Typing while in charge of a kid!!

Octopus37 · 07/06/2021 06:57

Lol @MakkaPakkas, up a pound today but dont think my scales are off, think its due to the amount I ate yesterday.

Had some friends round for a picnic yesterday, plan was to go to the park, but it had been raining a bit so decided not to chance it. One of the ladies (was within group of 6 btw) was talking about having a tummy tuck. Talked generally about weight and I said that I was a stone and a half heavier than when my kids were small. She didn't say a lot but was a bit lecture like in telling me that I can do it by diet and that we should all be looking at our diets now lockdown is over. Btw wasn't suggesting a tummy tuck, cause yes I have a bit of a tummy but I am more of a pear. For some reason it really grated on me,?hence me probably eating too many picnic leftovers. My fault noone elses but what's the pyschology behind that?

FlatteredFool · 07/06/2021 07:42

I think it's called "fuck you" Octopus. A natural reaction to someone like that.

63.9kg this morning. I have given up chocolate, sweets and cake for the next few weeks to see how I do. I've discovered The Collective yogurt and am in love. No sweeteners for the win. Ds has another week off so my activity levels won't be as much as usual.

I'm aiming for 62kg by the 21st.

Have a great week everyone!

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 07/06/2021 08:15

Good call on the response flattered! If you eat a lot of chocolate etc, you'll see a big difference without I'll bet! 8st 10.5 here today. Heading for my fasted walk. Are you proud of me Honeybadger? Grin

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 07/06/2021 08:52

Just thinking how mad scales are really, even if food intake is reasonably routine, you can go up or down by a pound or even two over night, while obviously not gaining an excess of 3500 cals! Helps me to be aware of it anyway. A friend calorie counted successfully and dropped a few stone, then wanted to have a weekend takeaway with her family but used to weigh the morning, have gone up 3lbs and believe it. She thus stopped making an effort and left it all go back on over time!!

TheHoneyBadger · 07/06/2021 09:02

Yes heygirl Grin

Some of that pound is gone today but I’m still up from where I should be.

Back to work today after very little sleep 😴

Cuzco · 07/06/2021 09:28

Hope you all had nice weekends. She sounds like a bit of a pain, @Octopus37 ! I had a hopelessly calorific bbq on Saturday - wasn't even try and be careful, so much beer and wine was consumed Grin

Better yesterday at the 1450 calories I aim for and I'm determined to get some long walks into as I really want to hit that 75kg milestone on Thursday.

Have a lovely week all.

NutellaEllaElla · 07/06/2021 12:01

Eugh. I'm not looking at the scales today. Sick of them. I managed to keep to maintenance calories at the BBQ yesterday and did a reasonable amount of walking but I know I need another good week and will hope for the best for Friday/Saturday weight check.

On the bright side, I have reached my water target for the day and haven't eaten anything sweet. I find that the longer I can put it off the less the sugar monster in me takes over.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 07/06/2021 12:03

Well done Nutella and Cuzco! Sounds like lovely weekends!

MakkaPakkas · 07/06/2021 12:17

@Octopus37 totally understandable response! I always over eat at my mum's house and it's in response to her talking about weight a lot.
You are right about scales @HeyGirlHeyBoy. I can go up and down 5lbs in a day. And they can be so demoralising too!
Well done Cuzco & Ella.
I'm doing ok so far today although I've had a really early lunch. I'm trying to eat mindfully and stop when full which I'm kind of doing.

NutellaEllaElla · 07/06/2021 15:18

A day of induction statutory and mandatory training at home is driving me to distraction! Am trying to resist eating because i'm bored.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 07/06/2021 15:22

I feel you Nutella. Don't like it hook you and think how great you'll feel for resisting. We are stuck here all the time with the 2DC as close contact. I've hoovered, again, and I'm already looking forward to starting dinner. The two are playing and then fighting on repeat! I'd murder a packet of biscuits. Thankfully there's none in so I'm taking a phone breather for 20 mins or so before I think of another job I need to do!! Drink some water and think of the morning!!

FlatteredFool · 07/06/2021 16:53

Resist! Resist!
I've got a healthy yet calorific dinner tonight of wraps, wedges, corn on the cob, salad veggies, halloumi, beetroot, olives. Followed by strawberries and raspberries. It's not often I get the urge to eat lots of fruit and veg so am going for it tonight. I'll not have the wedges, well, will try one.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 07/06/2021 17:20

I'm logging. I'm exhausted for some reason.
Porridge and banana, 2 X cappuccino
Berries and Greek yoghurt
Chicken curry and brown rice
Done. 5k walk, 2+ litres of water. Lights will be off by 10. Can't get enough sleep, probably all the hanging around the house tiring me out!
