Happy June everyone. Here is the new thread. Not sure what my aims are this month, mainly to try and get on a more even keel. I'm up from the start of May 9st5.25 this morning. Hope everyone is still enjoying the good weather.

Today I've been feeling very hot and lazy.
So far:
B. Granola bar & coffee
L. Chicken salad sandwich
S. 2 ice lollies and a mini role.
That's just over 800 so I can have about 600 for tea. I'm not very hungry, but the kids will want something proper, might order nandos

NutellaEllaElla · 16/06/2021 18:51

4. When you feel like you might be getting full. Stop eating Grin have you heard of the dessert stomach?

MakkaPakkas · 16/06/2021 19:14

Yes, that is the hardest part!!

NutellaEllaElla · 16/06/2021 20:06

Checking in for the day and i'm pleased i've stuck to around 1200.
B: Yoghurt and OJ
L: Chicken stew
D: Pork casserole and brioche roll
S: Mini stroopwaffles (SO good!), mini Reese's and a small Wispa.

I have a work outdoor lunch tomorrow (it's likely to rain so bring an umbrella they said Hmm. It's a Nando's lunch. I hate that i'm not getting my favourite meal but those days are kinda long gone since i discovered that it was a 1200 calorie meal. So i'm just having chicken wings, no chips.

drspouse · 16/06/2021 20:41

Doing pretty well this week, cycling to work today and yesterday. DD wants home made pizza for tea tomorrow which is good for a healthy tweak and I'll walk her to Beavers and day off on Friday so I might plan a walk then too.

Hangoverstruggles · 16/06/2021 21:55

Evening all, just checking in. Not a bad day - 1500 calls

B coffee, banana
L salad of hard boiled eggs, new potatoes, cherry toms & cucumber
D Thai chicken stirfry & brown rice, 3 slices of melon
S chocolate biscuit, loads of strawberries, small handful choc chips, mini magnum

It's the choc for energy dips that gets me!

TheHoneyBadger · 17/06/2021 08:07

Morning. 13:5.6 today. I lost really well over February, March and April but since then minuscule loss and mostly maintaining.

I need to get a bit more disciplined.

MakkaPakkas · 17/06/2021 09:24

Morning all,
I swerved the Nandos last night and got off my arse to make some chicken pasta. Felt hungry this morning so had two pieces of toast which along with a slightly nerve wracking thing I'm doing today means I'll likely go over calorie wise. I'll aim to be under 1700 rather than 1500 like I normally do. Its 9:23 and already really fancy a a g&t.

LadyDanburysHat · 17/06/2021 10:11

Morning all, I seem to have been knocked sideways by the fall I had, so a bit of chocolate has sneaked in in the last few days, but I am trying really hard to stick to my calories.

I still can't see a difference in my weight, I think because I have so much to lose this time, so it will take a while to show. I hope by the time I lose a stone I might notice a tiny change.

Octopus37 · 17/06/2021 15:04

By some fluke I was 9st1.75 this morning. I'm being my usual so so in terms of food, didn't do that well with steps yesterday. I'll take it, just hope my scale aren't wrong.

OP posts:
NutellaEllaElla · 17/06/2021 15:33

Ooh that's exciting Octopus!

Lady would it be an idea to take some measurements to help track any changes? Or photos. I wish I had tracked measurements. Speaking of chocolate, a friend was telling me today that a particularly tenacious salesman nearly convinced her to take up vapeing because their chocolate flavoured product helped reduce chocolate cravings. She came to her senses when she remembered that she's not even a smoker so didn't need to start vapeing but I can see the temptation! Grin

Hangoverstruggles · 17/06/2021 22:08

That's a good number @Octopus37
Hope your week's got better @TheHoneyBadger and you're feeling ok @NutellaEllaElla

Scales are doing cunning things to me. The pitfalls of daily weighing! After quickly dropping 4lb I'm back up one despite being in a deficit every day. Will try not to be disheartened and keep plugging away. I've gone over my cals a little bit here and there but staying under tdee.

B coffee, Fry's Mint Cream (Grin tired, long week energy boost!)
L flat bread, sliced turkey, salad, hard-boiled egg), banana
D same as lunch, big bowl of yogurt, strawberries and a meringue nest (meringue nests are only 50 cals each btw!!!)
S apricots, few marshmallows

Wish I could curbed them sweet snacks but hey ho.

Activity - utter shite. How do people do it?! My work / kids schedule is relentless. I'm always busy and rushing and exhausted but no proper exercise. Not helped by toothache and feeling like a cold is brewing.

Happy Friday to all of you - sending happy vibes for the weekend 😊

NutellaEllaElla · 17/06/2021 22:19

First restaurant meal tonight and I didn't have a starter and had chicken cacciatore as a main course. I did have dessert but haven't left feeling over full. I think that's some kid of progress.

MakkaPakkas · 17/06/2021 22:52

I've very much overdone it today on calories. I reckon I must be due on. I reckon about 2100 calories and 12000 steps

NutellaEllaElla · 18/06/2021 07:37

By some miracle, i remain only 1lb off my maintenance goal.

TheHoneyBadger · 18/06/2021 08:11

Good news Nutella.

Hangover you already sold me on meringue nests - 50cals is a bargain plus there's protein!

Scales about the same as yesterday so fingers crossed my upswing is over and I might actually see some progress downwards soon. My period is 4 days away according to my fitbit and I usually see a drop after that.

Pouring rain and greyness is a bit disappointing after all the sunshine - wish we could have a clear run of a couple of weeks of nice weather.

Octopus37 · 18/06/2021 08:20

9st2.75 here. DS came home from school with toothache yesterday, he chipped his tooth a couple of years ago and I think the nerve might be dying. He had some pain about 6 weeks ago, took him to get him checked out and they said it was a canine erupting near it. He is in agony, have been alternating calpol and nurofen through the night, also tried oil of cloves. Left a voicemail at our dentist. Whole thing awful, he has been screaming and crying in pain. He's asleep at the moment. Tomorrow he has an assessment for high school to see which groups he will be in and a party, on Sunday he has a football trial. Nightmare, and whatever they do to treat it is going to be horrible too. O and its pouring with rain.

OP posts:
HeyGirlHeyBoy · 18/06/2021 15:31

Oh no octopus, I hope he will be OK and they relieve that pain for him. Nutella, well done!
I am popping by to say goodbye to you all, for now anyway, tho I hope I can drop by and catch up every now and then. The take down of that book I posted the other day really shifted something in me and I realise that my relationship with food has gone off the rails in terms of binging on crap and letting the flood gates open once I do. I don't restrict, always eat plenty but... I think the avoid all junk unfortunately has had the opposite effect. The truth is, I lost a stone and a little more and have kept it off, I'm generally pleased with how I look and fit into my clothes tho not perfect but I think I'm going to prioritise enjoying my food and my life over perfection, whatever that is. I got a new summer dress yesterday and it's so nice. I thought 'You look great, stop giving yourself a hard time!' So I'm not sure what I'll do now to avoid the junk and the weight creeping up but I'm going to take my foot, and more importantly mind, off the pedal and see how things go. Sounds silly but I'll miss the daily check ins with you all! Best of luck to everyone in their different places with all this.

NutellaEllaElla · 18/06/2021 22:47

Heygirl,I am glad to hear that you have come to this realisation. I will check out that podcast you're talking about. I'll miss your posts too, but I hope you find a place of peace with food and weight. It's so complicated. x

Octopus37 · 19/06/2021 08:00

@HeyGirlHeyBoy you will be missed, but think you are doing the right thing. It sounds as if you need to concentrate on yourself and your wellbeing. Also you're a good weight, but appreciate how hard it is to let go of an idea. Take care of yourself.

9st3.25 this morning, had Chinese takeaway with a friend last night. Difficult night again with DS2, he has to have a root canal and be referred to the dental hospital, now has antibiotics, but they're taking time to kick in. I'm rushing out to do my work in a min and leaving him with my DH, hoping he stays asleep for a while. So awful seeing him in so much pain, apologies, I know lots of parents have to deal with far worse.

OP posts:
HeyGirlHeyBoy · 19/06/2021 08:44

Thanks all. One big thing on one of those 2 part podcasts was the idea of the constant voice in my head, what will I/can I have, oh I'll get some chocolate later etc etc. Need to let that go. Could be amongst first thoughts day.

drspouse · 19/06/2021 15:31

1/2 lb off today and I feel more positive as well (though a lot going on in the family, not all good).

TheHoneyBadger · 19/06/2021 15:40

I listened to most of the first podcast HeyGirl then had to go to work. I'm going to scroll up and listen to the rest - the woman they were discussing was so clearly messed up about food and then getting rich off of passing on disordered eating.

Hope taking a break from overthinking about it all helps. You are a good weight and I'm glad you were able to see that you look great and decide to be kinder to yourself. Will miss you though.

Toothache is killer Octopus - hope the ABs kick in soon for him. Nurofen plus (with the stronger dose of codeine in) is the best I found when I last had an abscess.

I didn't weigh this morning but have been to the gym and fasted till about 2.30pm and have had halloumi, garlic crackers, olives and gherkins to break it. Now cold and considering some duvet and netflix time.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 19/06/2021 19:16

I actually just read the transcript myself Honeybadger and you know I knew she was extreme with methods etc but thought the overall no sugar, no flour was reasonable/ideal if difficult to do but I see now for me, it is not helpful. I'm just in from first meal out since Christmas. Delish. I'll say a definite goodbye now but will definitely check in in a few months or if tagged. I think you're all fantastic Star Loved being your online pal. All the best x

MakkaPakkas · 19/06/2021 21:10

Bye @HeyGirlHeyBoy sounds like moving on is the best thing for you. Hope you have fun and enjoy your food and your body x

I've just had three days of eating a bit too much, plus a bottle of wine last night which I really enjoyed. I'll be back on the wagon tomorrow. My DD (10) has been isolating this week because of a positive case at school and it's been a stressful week. Plus I think I'm premenstrual which always finds me needing both more food and more comfort than usual so I'm not beating myself up about it. I did manage over 10,000 steps each day so that's something.
I've joined a very fancy gym and I'll be going there every day to work in their business lounge and have a swim next week which I think I'll enjoy. 🤞For a more chill food week as of tomorrow
