May I lose more this month

Apologies, cannot remember who's idea this was for a thread title, but I have stolen it.

9st3.75 this morning, meaning I am 0.25 down from the start of April. Not great, but I did get up to 9st7 in April, so I'll take that. Would be delighted if I could lose a pound this month. Lets hope the weather picks up, I'm sure that will help everyone.

Had a cheat day yesterday Pizza Hut for dinner and a bottle of wine! Weighed today still 14.5 so going to hit the gym later I've found a really good programme on the treadmill that burns 250 calories in 20 minutes! So going to do that for 40 minutes then have an easy salady type lunch today. Determined to get to at least 13stone 5 in the next 8 weeks.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 16/05/2021 13:54

Logging now to keep myself on track. They've been baking in my house!
ONO, cappuccino
Leftover chicken curry
2 iced cupcakes
Fajitas later. High cal enough probably but once I stay at that amount I'm OK with it ie not letting flood gates open!

Monochrome4 · 16/05/2021 17:04

Hello all. Just catching up on the thread.

No way can I have crumpets in the house if I'm trying not to be indulgent. What else are the holes for except to fill to the brim with butter? And who can have just one?

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 16/05/2021 18:35

Confirming log plus one plain bun. Shite. Oh well. Have done great on water and will get a walk in.

Onesnowynight · 16/05/2021 19:46

I love crumpets! With real salted butter. Only problem is I could eat the whole packet.
I’m blaming dp for another naughty day- bacon in a whole meal roll, chicken and chorizo skewers, salad and jacket potato. I also had 2 biscuits. Have managed 2500mls of water so am doing well there.

It’s great seeing everyone’s progress!

Cuzco · 16/05/2021 21:27

Gosh that sounds nice @Onesnowynight

Today's totals:
1,412 calories
8,000 steps

It's been pouring almost all day so we didn't get out as everyone of us has been ill and I didn't want to have DCs out in the damp, hence quite low on the steps.
Snack food today was a handful of DH's crisps and 25g of buttons.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 17/05/2021 07:44

My poor ds9 made pancakes for breakfast as a surprise today, trying to make up for misplacing his dad's keys yesterday, so I had to have one.. Oh well. No chance to weigh either with the pancake reveal so will weigh in tomorrow. Have a good day all. Water water water. Early night for me tonight!

Octopus37 · 17/05/2021 07:44

Well done @Cuzco, I admire your restraint not eating loads when the you're home with kids. Predictably a bit hungover yesterday after just two pints, so ate loads of carbs. Starting to think that my alcohol tolerance is so low that I might have to stop drinking, even though I dont drink much. I just end up with a headache the next day and I'm always so tired which doesn't help. It just feels a bit joyless though. Obviously the carbs the next day dont do me too much good either, scales up a pound this morning. Has anyone else noticed the same thing with alcohol as they're getting older?

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 17/05/2021 08:17

Definitely octopus, if I had one glass of wine now I'd know it the next day. I rarely drink tho for those reasons, the next day is a right off. Can't do it. The same has happened me with sugar I think, i have a low tolerance. Not good.

FlatteredFool · 17/05/2021 08:30

Eeek 63.9 this morning. I've not weighed myself for about 3 weeks and I've been stuffing my face it seems. That weight includes preAF bloat and 2 pints of tea but I need to get my star in gear.

TheHoneyBadger · 17/05/2021 09:55

2 pints of tea are at least kg surely.

13:7 today which is a pound and a bit up from Saturday but not surprised as I've had a piggy couple of days. Will aim to do better this week and get a loss by Friday hopefully.

stressbandit · 17/05/2021 12:12

So I went to the gym today burnt of 300 calories on the treadmill feel amazing about that! And I'm going to have something healthy for dinner. I had Pizza Hut and wine this weekend and loads of carby stuff so was expecting a big rise on the scales, however it's gone up by 1lb.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 17/05/2021 16:55

Well done stress bandit! Busy busy busy today = no time to even think about eating but really hungry now and looking forward to dinner Smile

TheHoneyBadger · 17/05/2021 17:47

Well done Bandit - I'm off to the gym tomorrow.

I'm rubbish. Shattered after work and still feeling under the weather and I've used that as an excuse to order takeaway when there is food that needs using in the fridge. Will need to work hard at the gym tomorrow!

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 17/05/2021 18:27

Enjoy it HB, I assume you still stick to 16:8 all the time?
I'm logging tho teeth not yet brushed. Sitting down to an assignment for the evening Envy not envy.
Ono, cappuccino
Ratatouille
Roast chicken with carrots and roast potatoes.
So all as per plan. Water good today. Not quite the 10k steps but 6 anyway I'd say, better than nothing. Will get short walk in tomorrow before work, which is a rare chance for me.

TheHoneyBadger · 17/05/2021 19:49

Most of the time yes so it's the first and only thing I'll eat.

That's a very healthy nutritious day HeyGirl. Unlike mine lol

I'm shattered and feeling ill lately and I find it really hard to be good in those circumstances. I should take some time off really but it's more hassle trying to set meaningful cover and deal with the gaps on my return than it is just dragging myself in and I don't want to let my year 9 and 10s down as they're revising.

NutellaEllaElla · 17/05/2021 20:46

Hey everyone. I hope you are all ok. I'm struggling today. Some anxiety and a little eating of feelings. Which doesn't work. Hoping for a better tomorrow.

Cuzco · 17/05/2021 22:15

Sorry to hear that @NutellaEllaElla , I hope whatever is causing the anxiety is short lived.

Another day not getting out. I still don't feel well and now DH has it too. I really must try and get out tomorrow, even if just briefly, if there's a break in the weather.
Unplanned takeaway here too... DH wanted curry and we haven't had one since January (if this year!) since before I started this diet. I cba to cook so it was an easy decision. But I had chicken, barely any of the sauce and didn't eat all of my rice.

8,023 steps
1,590 calories (guesstimated - could be half of much again as I have no idea about the takeaway really)

Octopus37 · 18/05/2021 07:04

Sorry to everyone who's not feeling well, hope everyone's on the mend soon. I think when you're unwell,, you need to do whatever food wise to feel better. 9st3.75 here, . Difficult day yesterday cause my Dad asked me why my boys dont speak to him, cue very difficult conversation which was always going to be needed, but have woken up feeling guilty this morning cause obviously he's an old man. Busy work day today. Hope everyone has a good day.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 18/05/2021 07:22

Oh octopus that's hard Sad hope you are OK and you too Nutella. Will go weigh now. I'm sure I'm off after Sunday buns and two dinners!!

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 18/05/2021 07:42

9st1.25...a little jump up for me but that's OK. Water water today. Did so well yesterday but have to keep it up. Consistency over restriction it seems.

Octopus37 · 18/05/2021 17:07

Thanks @HeyGirlHeyBoy, things are calm enough today. I'm taking my Dad back on the train tomorrow. Hope everyone is feeling better today. Had a horrible experience trying clothes on in New Look today, I'm between a 10 and a 12 or more accurately boobs are a 10, the rest of me is a 12 and I tried some dresses on. However, I couldn't believe how awful my legs and stomach looked, really doughy and cellulity. I know I'm no oil painting and I am 46 but I was genuinely shocked. I looked like I need to lose a lot of weight. I walk everywhere but I looked as if I never move. Of course, in my current state of mind I got out of the shop and immediately ate which doesnt help. Think I need to try and tone up badly as much as anything else. Its so hard to know what to focus on though, work and family life are demanding and I need to finish my course and get some work through that and I'm so bloody tired, which is partly why I eat too many carbs. Sorry for brain dump. I'm guessing a lot of women are in the same boat though at this stage.

NutellaEllaElla · 18/05/2021 17:15

Hugs @Octopus37. Thing is, i'm not sure I can trust the mirror you know. I know I don't need to lose weight, but I still think I look doughy. I think unless I was actually ripped, i'd probably still feel that way but being so 'toned' that you have abs, washboard flat stomach etc as a woman, is pretty unusual. I'm not sure what i'm saying but i suppose it's somewhere along the lines of - even if you are actually overweight, the problem you are describing and that I can relate to....is probably not so much your body.

It's wonderful how we can have great insight for other people but not apply that for ourselves isn't it? I've been anxious about lockdown restrictions ending and all the things i've got coming up that revolve around restaurants and social eating.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 18/05/2021 17:28

Absolutely understand Octopus. I feel the same, despite weight being fine really, I'm quite wobbly.. It's a real pain. And you have been walking so much! Maybe some yoga or pilates even. You've a lot of balls in the air so go easy on yourself. I will be thrilled to finish my course. Mahoosive assignment this week.

NutellaEllaElla · 18/05/2021 18:44

Best of luck with the assignment, it'll feel so great when it's done!
