The trip to the beauticians will get you in the mood to go out happier, well done on the weight. Haven't weighed yet but did stick to calories yesterday & kept a handle on the alcohol cals, west coast cooler rose, 88 cals a bottle, Over 200 cals for the same amount of wine. No booze would be better clearly but with company, not on the cards. Evening went good, no plans for today, I'd say it's going to be a back garden bbq. Will avoid too much bread myself.

Agree a bit of pampering and lunch with a pal will do you the world of good

Not2bObvious · 17/07/2021 10:28

Down another 2lb - could be fake loss but hopefully true. Only .2 up on last Sunday

Happierwithouthim · 17/07/2021 13:57

I actually had a glass of west coast cooler rose last night too I didn't know it was so low cal.

Have a cocktail mix bought to make rum cocktails later, the novelty of having room in freezer for a bag of ice is life changing

Happierwithouthim · 17/07/2021 14:02

No electricity made trip to beauticians interesting! But they got it back to finish me off!!!

Not2bObvious · 17/07/2021 14:29

The original is closer to 100, every little helps😂 Its decent enough, glad they managed to get the juice back, half glamourised wouldn't do

OP posts:
Mrsmadevans · 17/07/2021 18:33

Not that is absolutely marvellous well done Smile
Happier hope you enjoyed the lunch and enjoyed your pampering Smile
I am loving this weather it is so uplifting Smile
Food not too bad heat helping lol Grin

Happierwithouthim · 18/07/2021 09:19

Bought some make up too
It was uncomfortably hot eating out, we came back to mine and sat indoors drinking & talking. Bf came, friends bf came & dc came home.

Scales went back up this morning not surprising Wink

My calories yesterday were mainly alcohol, ate a protein bar, a turkey cheese and coleslaw sandwich & warm goats cheese salad when I was out.

I'm carrying fluid which I haven't done in years not since I was pregnant the first time. Going to go to chemist for something for that, my feet hurt

Not2bObvious · 18/07/2021 09:28

Scales shot back up so yep false low yesterday. Sigh...

Yuck not that sucks
Mrsmadevans · 18/07/2021 11:55

Morning everyone 😀
Beautiful day again
Do you think. Not&Happier the hot weather is causing fluid retention in your tissues and thereby giving you weight gain ?
Just a thought , my feet are up too and I know it's the heat .
Not eating a lot ATM, just having hot dogs and pizza really!

It's absolutely gorgeous and will soon be gone so let's enjoy it 😀👏❤️

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/07/2021 12:45

Fluid retention kills me in the heat. Not literally obvs

Not2bObvious · 18/07/2021 17:45

If my weight excess was fluid, I'd drown for sure. Just fat for sure. Apparently losing weight, 1 pound is 3500 cals worth, gaining is 1000 cals worth - that appears to be my experience.
Hoping to feel more positive tomorrow, should have left the scales for 2-3 days after decent number. The SOD likes to upset me

OP posts:
Mrsmadevans · 18/07/2021 18:07

See what tomorrow brings both 😊
I totally agree re the blasted calorie deficiency 🙄

Not2bObvious · 18/07/2021 19:36

Just had a Chinese, I do realise I am my own worst enemy, I'll get my coat 🤦‍♀️

OP posts:
Gensola · 18/07/2021 21:54

not Grin it’s too hot to cook, Chinese definitely justified.
I have eaten ok today but had a lot of booze in London over weekend. Going booze free now until we go to NI in August.
mrs I’m puffy in the heat too. Trying to drink lots of fluids.

Not2bObvious · 19/07/2021 07:09

Had a quick weigh in, bearing in mind I'm bunged up and retaining fluid from Chinese, up 5.6 on Saturdays unrealistic number, up 3.2 on yesterday. I think I'll fast til lunch, and try a part 2 weigh in - hope fluid and other stuff might have shifted.
I have 2 nights away at the weekend and an unexpected dinner out midweek. So I only have 4 days I can do a decent deficit & then what I save will go on those days. If I'm lucky. With my extra 1000 cals in/1lb on body, heavens knows what gain I'll be looking at. Slim fast anyone???

OP posts:
Gensola · 19/07/2021 07:33

not maybe try a couple of fasting days? When I did fast800 I’d fast until 12 then have two poached eggs with a big pile of spinach or mushrooms or tomatoes, then a dinner at about 6 of fish and veg or there’s a really nice chicken bake thing, and fill up the plate with lots of veg again. I reliably lost 1 pound every two or three days, and tbh I wasn’t starving, it was more realising the habits of food, not being able to snack was a real eye opener and also how every social event in this culture revolves around food!! I still have the meal plan PDFs from it (I did the online program) happy to send you some if you’d like to have a look.
Looks like another scorcher today and I have promised myself I’ll go on the bike for an hour 😱 what was I thinking

Not2bObvious · 19/07/2021 11:37

Thanks a million gen, I did the fast800 for quite a while about 5 years ago (maybe longer ago, can't remember) so I still have the kindle book. I could certainly give it a go - I have to drop the mindset of starvation. Be a long time before this carcass got starved😂
I'd be on track for a fast day today so I'll give it a go. Omelette for lunch, stir fry for dinner👍

OP posts:
Gensola · 19/07/2021 11:51

8 mins left on the bike. I am a large and sweaty beetroot 🥵
MIL has had some very worrying symptoms and I’m a bit worried it’s one of those things where she will get sick now FIL has died, it really doesn’t look good at all.
Need to meal plan and shop but may not be able to walk after bike 😂

Not2bObvious · 19/07/2021 12:46

Wobble to the shops maybe? My EP has lasted years after partner went. I think they're invincible tbh - bit scared of what the future holds with the age & mobility increasing & decreasing. Could just be grief, she may improve once the services etc are done. It's early daysThanks
I've been tempted to try some of the spin options on the Les Mills sub but only have cheap/crap exercise bike. Standing on the pedals may break them. On my online weight-loss group, the leader basically said he has reports of loads of people showing ridiculous water retention gains so I'll take heart at that. My average cals despite 3 days of good behaviour came out at 2,500 - I despair of myself. Horse

Definitely too hot to cook!
Gen my lovely neighbour died 78 last September and his wife has just died she was 76. lt's no age really when l think of my Mum 89 and Bob 90. They should have had another 10 years at least Sad
I am swollen too it's definitely the heat , l am not weighing NO SIREEE.
Not you can only do your best , try not to stress it if you can , we just have to adapt to this for the moment it will come Smile

Not2bObvious · 19/07/2021 20:48

Ok so I didn't quite manage a fast day but I stayed just under 1300 and feel pretty ok. Got 11,500 steps done too. Back to weights tomorrow, so I'll be in doms'ville by Wednesday after lifting nothing heavier than a wine glass in nearly 2 weeks.
You're so right mrs, scales are pure evil these days.

OP posts:
lifelongfrugaleer · 20/07/2021 06:57

I’m doing steps and that is it. But it’s better than nothing.
Is mil drinking enough gen? She may not feel like eating but in this heat needs to drink
