Following!

LadyWithLapdog · 08/04/2021 23:13

I was on it for a month. First week, amazing. Cut my hunger and appetite massively. I didn’t eat because I wasn’t hungry and didn’t fancy food. I wasn’t unwell, no nausea, just not interested. After which it crept back to normal. I would continue but it’s quite expensive. Maybe I’ll try again. It did feel nice not to be hungry all the time.

jannyapple · 09/04/2021 06:37

@LadyAgripina I agree it's expensive but I know I'd have spent more than that cost on ice cream chocolate and sweets so if it helps me it will be worth it
Not been able to find anyone on here to share experiences but if you restart I'd be keen to share support ?
I'm at the end of week 3 and still doing well Confused

I think you meant me :) Really pleased it’s working for you. I don’t have loads to lose so I’ll give myself the kick up the bum I need. Are you at 2 am and 1 evening dose by now?

LadyAgripina · 09/04/2021 07:44

I was using saxenda and it was amazing at the beginning: no hunger, no binge. But now I am as always binging at night and always hungry. I don't know if start other drug, you see. But at the same time I desperately want to loose weight. Sad

LadyWithLapdog · 09/04/2021 07:49

It is a nice feeling not to be hungry and you think ‘is this how other people do it’? I’m not too overweight, in fact I only went much over during Xmas, and I know I can lose weight without ‘help’ but I’ll be constantly hungry and thinking about food.

jannyapple · 09/04/2021 07:59

@LadyWithLapdog
Must pay more attention lol
No I have stayed at 1 Am - it's working for me so I didn't see the point of increasing the dose .. I have 2 stone to lose now , 12 lbs already in 3 weeks gone
Side affects mostly settled and feeling very optimistic

LadyWithLapdog · 09/04/2021 08:01

@jannyapple well done, that’s a good result. Keep going. I’ll get started again and order some more.

jannyapple · 09/04/2021 08:05

What made you stop @LadyWithLapdog ? I did consider Saxenda but chose this as thought the side affects sounded less frightening lol

OP posts:
jannyapple · 09/04/2021 08:07

@LadyAgripina Did you stop Saxenda or continue ?

OP posts:
LadyWithLapdog · 09/04/2021 08:12

I stopped as I didn’t lose any weight after the first 4 lbs.

jannyapple · 09/04/2021 09:15

@LadyWithLapdog that's such a shame

LadyWithLapdog · 09/04/2021 09:27

It’s ok, I have a few left over and will start these again whilst I wait for the new prescription. I need to do something. I have so many nice clothes for my pre-Covid weight.

jannyapple · 09/04/2021 09:29

Me too ! Can't wait for a good mooch in Primark too Smile

OP posts:
LadyAgripina · 09/04/2021 09:34

@jannyapple I stopped awhile and restarted and so on. Now I am on saxenda because I have some pens, so I'll finish them and I think there is a slight decrease in hunger and impulse to binge but not so
Much as to buy again since they are too expensive. What about mysimba side effects? @LadyWithLapdog

Elzbells · 09/04/2021 09:38

You have just prompted me to look at that. I might give it a go actually. My bmi is 28 and I'm only 2 stone over but I gave up a 2 bottle of wine habit a month ago and now I can't get off the chocolate 🤦🏼‍♀️

May give it a go to get me started, I'm ok once I've done healthy eating a week or so it's the initial hungriness that trips me up.

What are the side effects?

LadyWithLapdog · 09/04/2021 09:38

I didn’t have any side effects at all, unless you count a distaste for alcohol of any kind. No nausea, really nothing. I didn’t use it for long and I didn’t get to full dose. It starts at one a day for a week, then one twice a day for a week, then two in the morning and one in the evening, then two tablets twice a day.

LadyWithLapdog · 09/04/2021 09:40

BMI of 28 is borderline with eg high blood pressure (my case). Otherwise I think it’s BMI 30.

Elzbells · 09/04/2021 09:51

Ok thanks, I also have a high cholesterol of 7.5 which I've been advised to reduce with diet.

I'll do a consultation online and see if I can get any advice.

LadyAgripina · 09/04/2021 10:01

@Elzbells same here with chocolate

Those on mysimba have consulted with Gp or any doctor?

LadyWithLapdog · 09/04/2021 10:16

I have consulted with a GP via private pharmacy.

jannyapple · 09/04/2021 10:34

@LadyAgripina you have to go through a Dr but it's a private prescription
I did mine with health express
Side affects , I had slight woozy whooshy head , few sleepless nights but that's it
Mine worked from the very first pill , had no choc etc whatsoever , I know it exists in the shops but doesn't interest me ... so strange after 30 + years of emotional overpigging

LadyWithLapdog · 09/04/2021 11:20

It’s so liberating, isn’t it, to look at food and just think ‘oh, interesting, but not for me’.

LadyAgripina · 09/04/2021 13:08

Oh thank you! I will try Smile

jannyapple · 09/04/2021 13:56

@LadyWithLapdog it's so hard to describe ... I was thinking how I would be going shopping with all the Easter eggs .. I walked past them thinking ah that's a nice box , bought for family, never even came into my head to open one .. previously I'd have ate them all and have to buy again , feeling shitty about myself and eating ice cream to make me feel better
