I am 52 female, morbidly obese at 25 stone 13 pounds in March 2023. Dieting with the NHS helped me lose 2 stone over 4 months and it was hard work! I then had a binge on fried food and triggered a gall bladder attack. Hospital, morphine, antibiotics the works for 3 days. Excruciating. My surgeon recommended Ozempic, but you can't get it so I tried MiSimba. Started on it at 23 stone 10 pounds

I have been on MiSimba for 2 months and it is a game changer. Shop around as I pay £25 a week which is a bargain!

Week 1: nausea, exhaustion, headache, dry mouth, dizzy. Still had an appetite but am eating less xoa of the nausea and going to bed early to stop the munchies.
Week 2: added the evening pill, eating small portions. I need to lose weight quickly for gall bladder surgery so I am on 800 calories a day. Still hungry but not clawing hunger. Symptoms still there but subsiding somewhat.
Week 3: halfway through the first month. Lost 7lb in the last 2 weeks. Not hungry every day, skipping lunch and seeing colleagues eat their lunch does not worry me. Weird feeling.
Week 4: on full dose, two tablets twice a day. Drinking more as dry mouth is constant. Also constipated so increasing water and fibre helps. Lost another 7lb, that is a stone in my first month!
Week 8: been on MiSimba for 2 months now. Today I weigh 21 stone 6 pounds. Feeling thinner at last, clothes are looser but not quite a size down yet. Am on target yo meet my goal weight for surgery. Not hungry at all. Tablets must be taken with food or milk so I take the morning tablets with Tesco slim shake made up with skimmed milk. Then I want next at 6:15 ok m and never more than 600 calories. Keeping fat low as fat will trigger a bilious attack from my gall bladder and I am NOT going through that excruciating agony again! 3 more stone to qualify for surgery which will be in the new year
Have bought 2 packs as there was a discount Happy to but off anyone who doesn't want theirs but as you see from my story, all symptoms have gone except dry mouth and constipation. I am drinking 2 litres of water a day, my surgeon recommended 3 so I will try drink more. Only eating at night to take my evening tablets. I am eating mostly chicken or turkey with salad and balsamic vinegar or fat free dressing. I also have soup or hot chicken and veg.

I am sleeping well, feeling great, others have noticed that I am getting smaller. I am not out of breath climbing stairs. Will start walking a bit once I lose another stone. Intimacy with my husband is back on the cards so happiness all round! Before MiSimba I was on the NHS Oviva app and I was losing. MiSimba has made it easy not to obsess about good and bring my portions under control. Without them it would be the usual hard slog of denying myself, then slipping and hating myself. MiSimba has saved me, truly.

Dynasty73 · 06/10/2023 12:22

Yes I have some want £70 thank you

anybloodyname · 06/10/2023 16:55

I am so sorry to be that person .. but just need to say it is illegal to sell on prescription medication

Of course do as you want and I get it knowing the cost but remember you really don't know what you getting from an unregulated stranger

LadyWithLapdog · 06/10/2023 17:27

I agree ☝️ You don’t know what you’re getting, how the medicine was stored etc.

KelmenaBallerina · 11/11/2023 20:03

I was so excited to start these. After months of research I finally took my first one today and I have been so poorly. Dizzy, feeling sick, headache and feeling rotten. Gutted

Luigitoo · 12/11/2023 00:24

Don't give up, day 2 is easier. It will take about 2.5 weeks before you are feeling better and lose your appetite. I have lost 5 stone and counting so far. MiSimba saved my life and it is worth feeling really sick on day 1 and then gradually better over the next fortnight.

KelmenaBallerina · 13/11/2023 20:50

I haven’t taken anymore. I felt really poorly and was worried something was really wrong. I might try again in a few weeks. I still don’t feel right 2 days later

Jetty1 · 16/11/2023 20:27

I have a full box with only a few taken out.

KelmenaBallerina · 26/11/2023 19:41

@Luigitoo How long have you been taking them for?

Jetty1 · 27/11/2023 11:23

I took them for 2 weeks. Had to go down to 1/2 a day to see if that helped but still felt awful.

Mumbearuk · 17/02/2024 07:34

Before reading my story, please note that I have purchased these through online pharmacy, not NHS…
I have been taking Mysimba since September 2023. I’ve had my second child in July that year and was ready to start loosing baby weight.
ive gotten into a horrible habit of eating chocolate digestives and fruit&nut Cadbury chocolates daily whilst pregnant and this habit was with my till September… anyways. Started mysimba and started a diet the same day. After two weeks I’ve realised that I was sticking to my diet without cravings or any other difficulties.
I’m 174cm and was 84kgs on September 1st and now (February2024) I’m 62kgs.

as I said, I did stick to a healthy diet when started the pills. I don’t think they do miracles. But I strongly believe they cut your hunger and make you a little less obsessed with food. I can control my cravings and I feel like my body is not enjoying healthy eating too.

i didn’t experience any side effects except constipation. Regardless of how much water I drink, sometimes it’s taking a few days to go to the bathroom (if you have issues with your gut, watch out )

as I’ve purchased the pills online (as my BMI was lower than NHS guidelines for these pills) I can’t recommend to others, just for health as safety concerns. But I do want to say if you struggle with extra weight and you do tend to eat a bit more than you should - these might help you get your cravings under control.

Nafnaf206 · 07/06/2024 22:50

I have never been so
unwell in my life week one felt like dying dare not up dose to two tablets a day think it will kill me! Nausea, dizzy, tummy ache, headache woozy and blurred vision! Would rather be fat than put myself through it I took Saxenda for 2 months lost 2 stone never affected me like this but could not afford it thought as this was a cheaper option would give it a go. I would also like to say never been so hungry in all my life on it! It’s vile have a whole box bar 10 tablets if anyone wants bought it from Superdrug online can proof where it’s from so you know it’s not dodgy. It’s like any meds some don’t suit everyone good luck on your weight loss journeys

Joanne9219 · 08/06/2024 09:20

Yeah, I’ve been on them and no weight loss, just constant banging headaches.

MxNatalie · 29/10/2024 23:03

Hi @Nafnaf206 I’d be interested in these if you still have? I’m just going through Asda to purchase and seen this thread when deciding! Can you PM me? Happy to reimburse ☺️

Lizziewest88 · 06/12/2024 16:57

I’ve bought some. Quite nervous to start!

Chubby1977 · 21/03/2025 09:25

Good morning, I've been on Mysimba for 10 days now, and I am having the worst heartburn/burping that I've ever experienced, it's consent, I feel really bloated, worst then pregnancy!
Has anyone else experienced this and do any over the counter meds work, and will it go away. I'm eating Gaviscon like candy.
Thanks for any advise.

Luigitoo · 21/03/2025 12:42

Give it another week. As the paperwork inside the box says, it will take time for your body to settle. Different symptoms for different people. Once you are on 2 tablets twice a day which is at the 4 week mark you will feel much better.

For me, I can't drink tea or coffee anymore, the idea is now revolting. My sister has stopped drinking alcohol (speeding up her weight loss). I still feel a little nauseous in the mornings, but that goes away with breakfast.

MiSimba will trick your brain into feeling full which makes it easier for you to control your portions and focus on a healthy meal plan. It does not stop you over-indulging and for me has not made chocolate revolting. I can eat anything I want and sometimes do, but then my weight loss suffers. This will help you say no, but you have the power to override that. No point in doing MiSimba if you are going to ignore the full feeling and continue to over consume calories so let it help you to help yourself.

I moved onto Wegovey and then Mounjaro injections which for me had no side effects at all. If you are struggling with MiSimba, switch to the injections if you can afford it. I was on them for 3 months, but could not cope financially so switched back to MiSimba which is £50 a month, not £200!

Wegovery delivery system is good, a tiny needle with a measured dose (4 doses per pen) and when you click, it automatically winds down pushing the dose into you. I moved to Mounjaro because reviews were better BUT the delivery system sucks. Still a tiny needle but you have to manually push the dose down into yourself. I couldn't face it and got my husband to inject me and he hurt me. Another reason to return to tablets. He did not hold the pen steady enough and sometimes pushed the needle deeper while he was pushing the dose in. If they had Mounjaro in a Wegovey pen it would be perfect - other than the price!

Your body and bank account, your choice. I have lost 6 stone in the last 18 months. I was a massive 26 stone at the start so I still have a way to go, but my sister when from a size 18 to a size 8 so she is maintaining now. I will get there too - roll on 2026!
