Thought I would start a new thread. Hoping that April will be a better month for all of us, especially with places opening up again and hopefully continued better weather.

Weighed in at 9st4 this morning. I'm not setting a weight goal this month, instead I'll be focusing on trying to improve my fitness and general well being. Hoping that a bit of weight loss might follow.

Of course it should count while pushing a prarm, is it very loose?!

drspouse · 15/04/2021 18:25

My Charge 2 counted while I was pushing the buggy, it should work. Google maps will tell you how far you walked though.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 15/04/2021 19:15

Logging for the day.
Breakfast: porridge and fruit, as above, lunch Greek yoghurt and fruit and chia seeds as above, one maom, homemade chips, breaded cod and beans. Will weigh in the morning!

Interviewedundercaution · 15/04/2021 19:15

That's so annoying about the Fitbit. I NEED the validation of seeing my steps or distance counted. Saddo that I am.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 16/04/2021 07:39

I am the same but I'm not without my fitbit for 3 weeks.. I do feel at the moment though, I'm extremely busy, that two walks a week plus the incidentals with the dc is enough, I am prioritising sleep and rest when I can, as well as good food. I am down another 0.75lbs so that's 3lbs gone in 6 days.. Incredible to see what happens when I give it a proper effort. 9st is in my sights again, haven't seen it since Jan. Have a good day all. Sunny here.

Octopus37 · 16/04/2021 08:19

Thats fantastic @HeyGirlHeyBoy. I have a step tracker app on my phone which counts my steps, means that steps in the house dont always get counted. 9st3.75 this morning. Was very tired yesterday to the point of feeling sick, so not too much food overall but quite carby and didn't drink enough water cause I needed the caffeine. Planning on a take away tonight so trying to be quite good today. My Dad's down now, so my headspace is quite limited. Its quite difficult. One day at a time.

That's brilliant Heygirl!
I'm down 1lb, just about...the scales flickered but settled on the lower number.

AprilFoolaround · 16/04/2021 08:59

Everyone is doing so well. I've had a bad couple of days and have been really hungry. Things will be easier next week when ds is back at school.

TheHoneyBadger · 16/04/2021 09:05

How annoying. When I had a scooter my fit bit used to somehow count steps-presumably the vibrations.

Official weigh in today 13:9.8. 3lbs down on last Friday. The gym definitely makes a difference

Interviewedundercaution · 16/04/2021 14:34

How do they work out how many calories you're supposed to have burned on these things? It always seems wildly optimistic. No way did I burn 950 calories walking for 2 1/2 hours this morning. Ridiculous.

TheHoneyBadger · 16/04/2021 14:43

Your weight and heart rate data etc.

Are you a name changer interview?

Cuzco · 16/04/2021 15:22

Well done @HeyGirlHeyBoy @NutellaEllaElla and @TheHoneyBadger! Great work. Hope you are feeling ok @Octopus37 ?

It's an Inspire 2 Fitbit. I checked it part way through my walk and it seemed very low, so I noted the number and walked about 30 paces (pushing the pram) and it didn't count them. I then tied the wrist strap around a belt loop on my trousers and it counted them all. It's not tight tight on my wrist, but tight enough to register the heart rate. I need to read up to understand what my options are. Why is nothing ever simple?!?

Interviewedundercaution · 16/04/2021 16:43

Sorry?

drspouse · 16/04/2021 16:57

Have you got the tracker measuring heart rate? I found when I did that, it counted way over.

Interviewedundercaution · 16/04/2021 17:03

It does measure heart rate yes. Might be that.

NutellaEllaElla · 17/04/2021 06:26

So I enjoyed my meal out last night (I was cold despite the outdoor heater, woolly hat, gloves, leggings, jeans, 1 top, 2 jumpers and a duvet coat - you know the ones and a blanket. I think I was born cold), but did it ever fuck with my sleep! I've been feeling absolutely exhausted this week and last night was no different but I absolutely did not fall asleep. I think I slept from 12.30 - 4.30. Which is insane for me. I was too hot and I wonder if the extra digestion demands on my body just messed everything up? The sleep foundation website talks about that being a consequence of overeating.

So that's pretty annoying and hopefully won't mess my day up too much as I would like to exercise this afternoon.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 17/04/2021 07:28

Oh Nutella, poor sleep is the worse. Maybe fit in a nap today. Definitely eating effects sleep quality, for me anyway. I had a delicious takeaway here plus chocolate fondant. Online again today but will get a short walk in for mental health if nothing else, at some stage. Enjoy your Saturday all!

TheHoneyBadger · 17/04/2021 08:32

I wasn't very well yesterday then ate a load of crap - lots of crisps last night and weight is up majorly but in that unrealistic must be mainly salt/water retention type way.

Off to the gym at 12 which will help.

Lots of work to do this weekend and I must get on with it - not sleeping well here either nutella so I feel your pain. Yes to the effects of eating more - it's one of the reasons I fast really. Digestion takes a lot of energy and the idea that giving your body a break from that has benefits makes sense to me logically and in my experience of how tired and sluggish I feel if I eat a lot or am eating more often.

Interviewedundercaution · 17/04/2021 08:51

God this is a slog. Down a mighty 0.5kg this week. Sigh. Ah well. Onwards. Back to work on Monday so less time to exercise.

Octopus37 · 17/04/2021 08:57

@Interviewedundercaution every little helps, you're down a pound. Dont know how old you are, but I believe as you are getting older, every pound down is a triumph. Sorry to hear you were't very well @TheHoneyBadger. hope you are feeling better today. The sleep thing is interesting, lack of sleep can make you feel so awful. Does anyone else find that if they dont sleep much, they feel sick, almost like pregnancy sickness or being hungover, if that makes sense. Then the only way to cope with it is by eating carbs. Was like that yesterday, so ate loads of carbs, plus a fish and chip takeaway last night. Haven't weighed in this morning funnily enough. Also read somewhere yesterday that fluctuating Oestrogen levels can make you feel sick, interesting. O well, hope everyone has a good Saturday

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 17/04/2021 09:04

Yes absolutely I feel nauseous if that tired octopus. Water, water and a little sleep if you can grab it is my answer. I know the carbs call but as always with me, taking one bite opens the floodgates so I try to hold tight on it.

Interviewedundercaution · 17/04/2021 09:05

I'm 59. It's definitely getting harder. Even 2 years ago when I last dieted it wasn't this hard.

drspouse · 17/04/2021 09:09

Oh boo, I was right, another pound on despite this week being mainly on target, delayed effects of Easter holidays.
More bike and swimming planned this week though 👍

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 17/04/2021 10:01

Half a kilo is over 1lb right? That's absolutely fine, anything in the right direction is good and you might get those great weeks where you drop more. I have just had a cappuccino this morning, not like me but it's funny I'm OK and not too hungry so may hang on for another hour.

TheHoneyBadger · 17/04/2021 10:05

Yes - a loss is a loss!

I ordered some fancy exercise leggings and am going to the gym at 12. They're still in the bag they were delivered in. Think I'm scared at having to see how fat I look
