Frolicking through February

Octopus37 · 01/02/2021 08:19

Think I might have used a similar title last year, but here goes. Hopefully we might move towards frolicking cause things have got to improve in February right.

Weighed in at 9st4 this morning. A couple of pounds off this month would be great, but I'm mainly working on my motivation and trying to increase my energy levels.

61 15kg today. I can live with that although it's the wrong side of 9 and a half stone but it's coming down and I've only done 3 days of restriction and IF.
Have a good day everyone!

TheHoneyBadger · 04/02/2021 09:06

Did my week weigh in.

I've lost 1.7lbs and my muscle is up by half a pound so i think that's good fat loss rather than muscle loss itms.

My resting heart rate has come down quite a bit this week too. Seemingly just from moving more.

So 14:10.3.

Now have to keep it going 🙏

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 04/02/2021 09:10

9st3 today, having been 8st13 at end of December.. On the upwards trajectory too long now.. Have managed 2days 16ksteps+ so that's something. It's the evening lone snacking that is killing me I know.
Goals: 10k steps, 3L water, no snacking after 6! Good luck all and well done on all efforts. Yesterday was sunny here yesterday and it made a massive difference.

TheHoneyBadger · 04/02/2021 09:12

I guess my first goal is to get back into just plain overweight bmi territory instead of obese.

Then to get back under 14stone. Praying that doesn't take too long.

TheHoneyBadger · 04/02/2021 09:13

Good goals heygirl. Night snacking is my nemesis

Fembot123 · 04/02/2021 10:19

Well done @FlatteredRhubardFool and @TheHoneyBadger. I feel so much more energetic and less bloated all ready so I’m happy.

drspouse · 04/02/2021 10:34

Good week so far, I tried putting in my meals in the morning yesterday which worked well, as then I have a few cals left for one snack and if I get my steps in that adds up to another. I walked to town and all round and to about 4 shops yesterday and bought some nice croissants from our hippy baker and had one with a cup of decaf after tea.
I have always felt snack-ish after tea but found myself having something with the kids at the end of the main meal and THEN something before they were fully settled which was interrupted of course so THEN something while sitting down calmly in front of the TV so now I'm planning and saving those snacks so I enjoy them more.

Octopus37 · 04/02/2021 13:56

Well done @TheHoneyBadger and @FlatteredRhubardFool. My aim is to not eat again until dinner today.

OP posts:
TheHoneyBadger · 04/02/2021 14:24

Thanks.

I'm attempting to have a day of eating more regularly but not overeating. So I just had 50g of ono with a few seeds and raisins made with a tiny bit of skimmed milk. I'm thinking about 250cals.

I have 2 cold hard boiled eggs in the fridge and a bag of prawns. Aiming for lots of protein today. Ds woke up and attended his live maths lesson, drank some hot chocolate, then promptly went back to sleep on the sofa. He's got three other lessons to do when he wakes up and I'll probably have to bribe him with promises of his favourite stir fried rice. If I have any I'll try to make it a tiny portion and fill up on the easy grab protein instead.

Trying to keep my steps up and I just remembered I haven't drunk enough water. Water everyone!

Fembot123 · 04/02/2021 14:52

I did a body combat class on YouTube before work and luckily remembered to shut the curtains this time as the bin men came! I had a slice of frittata and a prawn salad for lunch a la desko

FlatteredRhubardFool · 04/02/2021 14:53

I'm hungry today. I'm drinking lots of water to try and help but my body wants food. Dd has requested homemade pizza and homemade chips for dinner. She barely eats one slice of pizza and ds will eat 2 maybe 3 so I eat the rest 😩 I won't have any chips though. I've got the calories left just about. Pizza is my downfall.

TheHoneyBadger · 04/02/2021 15:13

Pizza is really good at being reheated in the microwave.... just saying Wink Ds eats it cold and loves it, I nuke it.

Have just been shopping on M&S and bought a load of on sale trousers for work/non work. That kind of jersey trousers that are passably smart enough for work but casual enough for not. I've been depriving myself of clothes that fit for so long thinking that the weight is just going to magically drop off. They were cheap in the sale and they're stretchy anyway so will still fit for a while as I lost weight and I'm sick of not having things that fit comfortably.

That managed to distract me from eating or pouring a gin for a bit.

Where are you in your cycle Rhubarb?

Octopus37 · 04/02/2021 15:17

Glad you treated yourself HoneyBadger, you deserve new clothes.

TheHoneyBadger · 04/02/2021 15:19

Thank you Octopus. How are you beyond the weight stuff? Are you liking the new home and is your dad still at your sister's? Think it was your sister's he was going to...

FlatteredRhubardFool · 04/02/2021 16:42

Oh my, shopping! I haven't been to M&S for clothes in a year. I'm glad you e treated yourself too.
Apparently try I'm on day 1 of my cycle again even though my period only finished last week. The joys of perimenopaise.
I'm having my pudding now instead of after dinner Grin I haven't been for a walk today so I won't meet my step target unless I do a lot of walking round the house later.

TheHoneyBadger · 04/02/2021 16:55

I have been doing many laps of the house and will still need to take the dog for a decent walk later. I'm only aiming for 6000 at the minute because I'm finding it hard with working from home and shitty weather but even that seems a challenge some days.

Likely hormones messing with you then as suspected. My periods are becoming closer together and one time last year I had a cycle that was only about 12 days long. God knows how many years this goes on for.

FlatteredRhubardFool · 04/02/2021 20:08

I'm embracing the random cycle as it means that the end of endometriosis pain gets ever closer. If I was sexually actively I'd be pissed off with the unpredictability but as I'm not it doesn't matter.

I'm up to 6000+ steps and once ds has gone to sleep I'll do done dancing about if I can be bothered. I hate not reaching my daily goals but I guess as long as it evens out over the week to be 10k per day then that's ok. My average calories in is 1433 over the past 4 days and I'm happy with that. I've stuck to the IF which is a major achievement even if it's only been 4 days so far. I had to start somewhere and I feel happier for being back on the wagon.

Thanks for this thread as it keeps me motivated!

Monochrome4 · 04/02/2021 22:26

Just popping in to say hi. This lockdown is tough. Eating not brilliant but weight just about stable, probably thanks the mini stepper. Right now my priority is mental health, both for my 7yo and myself. It's come to that. Positives: we got through January, and February is shorter.

TheHoneyBadger · 05/02/2021 07:10

Well done mono. Yy to mental health as top goal.

Had a good day food wise yesterday. I had my small ono, then 2 boiled eggs and lots of prawns as a full on protein dinner. I did have 3 gin and slimline tonics but calories came in ok.

Must eat some veg today. I'm in school today so should get some steps in. I might do circuits-we have stairs at either end of 3 floors of classrooms in the main block so I could get some good steps and floors in if I don't mind looking like a weirdo.

Octopus37 · 05/02/2021 08:08

Monochrome you are so right about mental health being the top goal. @FlatteredRhubardFool I can relate to your peri thing, I seem to be bleeding a bit again even though I only finished my period last week. The endo must be very tough though, bet you cannot wait for them to be over. @TheHoneyBadger yes my Dad is still living near my Sister, he is very up and down, seems to be aging quite a lot. He's had some health checks done recently which have come back clear, but his mind seems to be going a bit. He had a bleed on his brain in 2002 so we're not sure if its connected to that. Feel so bad cause he's 200 miles away and I cant see him, but I will take the reigns back from my Sister as soon as I can, thanks for asking. 9st 4.5 this morning, actually managed not to eat inbetween lunch (if you call Bombay mix lunch) and dinner yesterday. Steps so so, water so so. Feeling rough today, coldy, not really sure. Hard not to be paranoid about the virus but I'll see. Glad its Friday, hope everyone has a good weekend.

61.15kg still today. Have a good day everyone!

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 05/02/2021 08:28

The only way I can lose weight at 60 is by calorie counting. Nothing else works. I had a gastric band 2 years ago but the last 2 stone is proving hard to get off. I did strict calorie counting in January for 3 weeks and lost half a stone and I'm doing the same in February.

TheHoneyBadger · 05/02/2021 08:49

I've just had ds being unpleasant about how stupid my walking around the house and taking the dog out more to get steps up is and how it won't do anything etc. It's a good job I have a pretty thick skin when it comes to teenagers. And a particularly thick skin when it comes to anything that comes out of his mouth within an hour of being woken up.

I'm heavy and my knees are sore often so running really isn't for me at the minute and actually walking around regularly, not being sedentary for long and getting steps up does make a difference. Bloody teenagers

FlatteredRhubardFool · 05/02/2021 08:57

@TheHoneyBadger I feel your pain. Dd1 is now living with her dad as she is so awful when here and was putting me at risk by running away and me having to call the police. Having several officers in your house when you're shielded is not good and it happened twice in quick succession so she's not here. Last night I spent half an hour dancing in my room to quiet music to get my steps up. Ds woke up at one point and looked at me like why are you doing that and went back to sleepGrin He should be proud of you but yeah, teenagers 🙄

Octopus37 · 05/02/2021 15:55

@FlatteredRhubardFool sorry you've had to cope with so much with your daughter. @TheHoneyBadger I feel your pain re teenager boys once again, my 13 year old says things like that to me.
