Thought I would keep with the dancing theme. Happy New Year to everyone. Lets all hope for a much safer 2021.

Even though I wasn't planning to weigh in this morning, I did out of habit and weighed in at 9st5. Take away (very delayed) last night, so not surprised. My aim is to be 9st1ish by the end of January. I'm hoping to get a couple of pounds off for my Birthday on the 9th.

I dont mind marmite, there's loads of good air fryer recipes on the katy kicker blog. Heygirl, hope you're feeling better soon, periods suck. So so today, not far off my step target. Off to drink some water.

IDontMindMarmite · 18/01/2021 20:50

Thanks i'll have a look

IDontMindMarmite · 19/01/2021 08:40

Good morning everyone, another day another 2 litre water target.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 19/01/2021 08:47

I'll have to get in 3L, I am totally zonked from this period and water is the only thing I will know will sort me out to some extent. 14k steps in yesterday but two small slices of cake and some maltesers during day. One of my dc has their schoolwork done already....
Goals: 3L water, 10k steps, nó eating after dinner, 10.30 lights out. Have a good day all.

Octopus37 · 19/01/2021 08:50

Going to try for that water target too. I have a pint glass and have just done the conversion, so if I drink three pints of water, that will cover it. No weigh day today. Think I might be starting a period today so could account for some of the weight, stupid body I never know. Have a good day all

Gah i'm feeling really munchy today. I've eaten half of my sweet treats i'd planned for this evening and i'll be over goal by 21 as it is so can't fit anything else in.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 19/01/2021 19:11

Oh I have more of those days than ones on the straight and narrow lately! Logging for the day.
Berries, green yoghurt and cappuccino
Ratatouille, half banana
Chicken fajitas
2 mini chocolate buns, homemade
3L water almost 10 K steps so golas on track. 5 pints is great octopus if you can get that little bit more in. Have a good evening all. I'm in my pj's.

drspouse · 19/01/2021 20:24

Not a bad day but got MEGA hungry before tea and DH was being slow cooking - 20g twiglets was the answer. I've also been having a glass of water after dinner/when I first sit down in front of the TV, as it gives me a space to think about a better snack than just scarfing anything down.

IDontMindMarmite · 19/01/2021 20:37

Well done with your goals.

I woke up today thinking it was Wednesday and am suffering with the fact that it's only Tuesday! Gah.

drspouse · 19/01/2021 20:50

Oh and DS wants to make fish fingers in a burger bun for tea on Saturday. I think I'll make my own...

Monochrome4 · 19/01/2021 21:30

What is the deal with air fryers? Does it really make stuff taste like fried, or is basically like a fast version of baking in the oven?

Well, I'm not even going to talk about how my eating habits are going during this lockdown, except that they are not as bad as last lockdown because I am not keeping chocolate in the house this time. It's something at least.

However I thought I'd share my happy purchase. I bought a mini step machine which was £35 from Decathlon (+postage). I was thinking about getting a rowing machine or a turbo trainer to get me through lockdown, but both have their disadvantages so I went for the mini stepper. It's cheap and it takes up very little space. It's also really easy to just go on for a few minutes here and there throughout the day, so hopefully it makes up for the fact that I'm not walking to school and back twice a day. It's not an intensive workout, but I just went on it for half an hour while watching TV and I had to strip off so it must be reasonably aerobic; I reckon somewhere between walking and running. And it's low impact so no pelvic floor issues. My kids like going on it too, but the steps are very slow for them because they're so light. Anyway I thought I'd share in case any of you find it useful.

Octopus37 · 20/01/2021 08:15

Your mini step machine sounds good Monochrome. Heygirl, will try and up the water today. Eating not so good here , but not gorging myself either just want comforting wintery things. 9st3.75 this morning. Bit all over the place cause my Dad's ill, at the moment dont really know how serious it is but my DSis is thinking the worse and I am 200 miles away and obviously cannot get up to see him. Hoping the doc can shed a bit more light today.

IDontMindMarmite · 20/01/2021 08:29

Sounds great Mono, convenient and you don't have to feel guilty about lazing in front of the TV.

Gosh I hope your dad is ok Octopus, very worrying time.

1-2lbs are hanging around since xmas and are bugging me. I have been reluctant to reduce my calories so far though.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 20/01/2021 08:55

Ah they'll drop off Idontmindmarmite. Would love to see a pic mono. Octopus that is very hard, a compassionate journey is allowed here as an essential one. I would go if it's serious..

I have left a 1-10 beside my 300ml glass today and will tick as I go to ensure don't drop off during the day.
10k steps
3L water
No eating after dinner.
Hope you all have an OK day.

TheHoneyBadger · 20/01/2021 12:43

I looked for the one you bought mono but they're sold out. Looking at other models. They're at least small and portable and I could even just hop on for 5 minutes multiple times a day to up steps without facing this miserable weather. Good tip thanks.

Octopus37 · 20/01/2021 18:24

Thanks Heygirl, luckily things dont seem to be as serious as I thought. My DSis is going to speak to the doctor again tomorrow to see if my Dad needs a chest x-ray. Its hard not to panic whenever he is ill as he has cheated death 4 times over the last 22 years. Food wise haven't done amazingly today but steps over 10,000. Water quite low cause its a horrible day so going to try and drink some more now. Going to weigh in next time on Friday.

OP posts:
TheHoneyBadger · 20/01/2021 19:37

Fingers crossed.

I bought a similar stepper mono and some gym leggings that I can hopefully not spill over Blush I think they're a good buy for me as I struggle to get my walking on in miserable weather and with it getting dark so early but I'll have no excuse this way.

I need to get outside and try a light jog. I feel embarrassed and reluctant. I want to do really slow running that is gentle on the knees and breasts. Wish I could motivate myself to get up and go early in the morning before it gets light and when there's no one around.

Not doing great on food or steps today but drinking lots of water. That's something right? Roll on spring

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 20/01/2021 22:17

Well done octopus, that's great, we'll count every victory. I got my 3L in but over ate a bit I'd say. Lashed all day, steps low. Didn't eat since 6pm so that's a big win as it feels like an all you can eat day to me!!

Octopus37 · 21/01/2021 08:00

I'm not weighing today. Aims are to do plenty of steps today and drink between 2l and3l of water, I'm going to go for four pints.

OP posts:
HeyGirlHeyBoy · 21/01/2021 08:46

Of water?! Grin Good woman. Similar goals here: 3L water, 10k steps, decent sleep and no eating after 6pm. Will weigh in morning, will be happy with status quo for now.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 21/01/2021 09:22

Actually will weigh sat as that'll be the week.

Octopus37 · 21/01/2021 15:29

Meant of water, although cider would be preferable lol

OP posts:
TheHoneyBadger · 21/01/2021 17:24

I had lasagna for lunch and then ds badgered me into making a cake. It was a coffee cake with butter icing and was a bit too nice unfortunately.

I seem to be half a step forward and two steps back at the minute.

Well done on water octopus. That's one thing I am managing.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 21/01/2021 18:39

That's been for a few months now Honeybadger but every good choice will make a difference over time.
Logging for today.
Porridge with banana, skinny cappuccino
Macaroni and cheese, small enough portion, 2 homemade buns (eyeroll)
Veg korma, no coconut milk with brown rice. Really nice.
14k steps
3L water. Happy with that. Will do skincare and brush teeth now!!
