Jiving into January

Thought I would keep with the dancing theme. Happy New Year to everyone. Lets all hope for a much safer 2021.

Even though I wasn't planning to weigh in this morning, I did out of habit and weighed in at 9st5. Take away (very delayed) last night, so not surprised. My aim is to be 9st1ish by the end of January. I'm hoping to get a couple of pounds off for my Birthday on the 9th.

Well done drspouse. You are being v consistent!

drspouse · 16/01/2021 09:22

Have just rewarded myself with pancakes and maple syrup! (Sat has always been weigh in and sweet treat day but I'm trying to make it a bit more reasonable).

Octopus37 · 16/01/2021 10:37

Well done Drspouse. As Heygirl said its all so hard, 9st4.25 still here this morning. Had online drinks with my bestie last night, but think that sort of thing is essential at the moment. Also slept in till 10, cannot remember the last time I did that, but have decided not to beat myself up for being lazy, its just where we are at the moment and I'm going out to do some work in a bit. Good luck with your training Heygirl.

Thanks octopus, it is group therapy all day so heavy going.

IDontMindMarmite · 16/01/2021 14:34

Is that all day teaching heygirl?

I have managed an hour cycle and almost 2 hours walking today so I'll feel like I thoroughly earned my fish and chips later.

My food scales died and my new ones (fancy Heston Blumenthal scales!) don't arrive for a week. This is a problem. We both weigh things at least 6 times a day. MIL will loan us hers for a few days.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 16/01/2021 14:42

No I am doing a MA on the side.
B: weekend pancakes
L: almonds, banana, mandarin, flapjack
S: biscuits...

IDontMindMarmite · 16/01/2021 16:11

I had a sausage sandwich for breakfast today and it was almost the same calories as my usual yoghurt and honey on toast. GrinHmm Sainsbury's chipolatas are only 96 cals for two!

drspouse · 16/01/2021 17:29

Oh yes, my one slice bread, fried egg and bacon is really quite reasonable!

Octopus37 · 17/01/2021 10:06

Hope your training went well Heygirl, I'm impressed that you're doing an MA. I have decided not to weigh myself this morning cause I am fed up. I had fish and chips last night and was almost worrying about what the scales would say this morning whilst eating it (it was a normal portion). Think I have got into a negative spiral with the whole thing at the moment and that I might need to try a different approach. Has anyone heard of the f*ck it diet? Think its basically intuitive eating, may look in to it.

IDontMindMarmite · 17/01/2021 11:07

I haven't heard of that one but have just about heard of intuitive eating. I know nothing about it to be fair.

I like the Facebook group called Lose Weight, Eat Pizza. It's a calorie counting group but had some good tips for being able to eat the things you love and lose weight.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 17/01/2021 11:58

I'm still here online! Thanks octopus. I'm with you completely on how you're feeling there. Would you try a once or twice weekly weigh?

TheHoneyBadger · 17/01/2021 12:53

Haven't heard of it but the reason I fast is because for years of being slim that was my intuitive natural eating pattern.

If I tried to do 3 calorie counted meals day in day out I would be seriously swimming upstream against my body itms.

I made chicken and prawn stir fry last night and we had toffee pudding and cream for dessert. We needed a treat and I'm hoping it was marginally better than takeaway.

Just coffee and water so far today. Making hunter's chicken with veg for dinner later.

Octopus37 · 17/01/2021 13:07

Yes, I'm going to try and weigh twice weekly. Have just eaten an omlette for my lunch. I dont mind marmite, that facebook group sounds good.

Hi all. Just checking in to say hello. I just Googled "Intuitive Eating". All sounds very sensible! Also very interesting that following your body's signals will end up with very different patterns for different people.

drspouse · 17/01/2021 18:24

Bit too many sweet treats yesterday but a good day today. Bribed the DCs with chocolate on our mega long walk and may have a bit myself after they are in bed.

Octopus37 · 18/01/2021 08:25

Weighed this morning, will try and leave it a couple of days until next time, 9st4.5, not great. Doing so so with food and steps, not great but not binging either. Just feel that my body wants to cling on to weight for dear life these days, nevermind. Its Monday, we're a week nearer to when restrictions will be lifted, whenever that might be.

OverTheRainbow88 · 18/01/2021 08:26

I’m not going to weigh in for a while as weighed in yesterday and had done quite well. So spent the day rewarding my efforts with choc 🙄

IDontMindMarmite · 18/01/2021 08:27

Water water water

FlatteredRhubardFool · 18/01/2021 08:58

62kgSad it's a fresh week though and a fresh start.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 18/01/2021 09:57

Yes to water and lots of it. Long walk tonight. Period is here. Happy Monday!!

FlatteredRhubardFool · 18/01/2021 10:10

Mine is due HeyGirlHeyBoy. It was 3 weeks late last time though so who knows. I've had a toasted muffin for breakfast and put a put a third of the normal amount of butter on it.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 18/01/2021 10:51

I'm suffering very much with it today, that splitting hormonal headache, cramps, tiredness, the whole kit and kaboodle.

TheHoneyBadger · 18/01/2021 14:15

Have been into school for part of the day which was madness. A load of truly badly behaved year 10 boys are in seemingly just because mum wanted to be shot of them.

Got my steps up a bit and kept me away from food.

Didn't brave the scales today.

IDontMindMarmite · 18/01/2021 15:57

I've achieved my water goal for today which is the first in a little while.

I bought an air fryer recently and am excited to use it today (like a loser Grin). I hope it's not another slow cooker that I eventually end up giving away lol, at least I didn't pay much for it.

drspouse · 18/01/2021 18:14

Just about squeezing in under goal today, may manage a little fruit later. Need to go out for a walk but it's tipping it down!
