New thread combining all the VLC shake diets: Cambridge, Exante, Lighterlife, Slimfast, etc. Everyone is welcome.

If you have any underlying health conditions, please check with your GP first (as I did).

My goals:

  • Get two stone off quickly, then swap to less restrictive healthy/calorie controlled eating.
  • Do 30 minutes of exercise (walking, jogging, lifting weights, whatever) a day.

Would love to share tips and motivate each other as we go!

My plan for today:

B: Shake
L: Egg whites, cottage cheese, salsa, sandwich thin w/ light spread
D: Shake

Emergency snacks on hand: bananas, tinned fruit, Snapple (100-calorie bottles).

Exercise: 30 minute walk.

I started Dec 26th and I've had some of the worst headaches I've ever had this week. Absolutely brutal!! Hoping as the first week closes, I'm through the worst.

Anyway, same plan as yesterday (to use up the open cottage cheese):

B: Shake
L: Egg whites, cottage cheese, salsa, sandwich thin w/ light spread
D: Shake

Exercise: 30 minute walk.

I'm here! I'm on slimfast and got lots of the tubs from boots half price and then ready made off amazon for work. I'm doing 2 shakes and 1 healthy meal

I've started today with a strawberry shake for breakfast. Will have a caramel temptation for lunch. And then dinner is glazed gammon steak and salad. And have fruit to snack on. And we are going for a good walk

Sounds like you're well-prepped. Do you have a goal or specific amount of time on the diet you want to achieve?

I've managed 12 weeks before, but I found it a struggle towards the end. I'm hoping with limited social engagements scheduled (er, as in none!) will help.

Hi may I join you? I'm weighing in (as I always do after Christmas) at 12 stone and want to get down to 11 stone.

I've got my Cambridge smoothies which I add berries to and whizz up and I will have 2 a day with a healthy tea.

Also got the Les Mills app on my phone and will do a Body balance class every morning.

Next few days will be hard as I have gorged myself for the last few months. Onwards to a slimmer Spring....

Welcome @Campervan69! Have you done Cambridge before? And adding berries sounds fab. I had a banana with my chocolate shakes for the first few days to keep me going.

I did it last year and was well on track when lockdown happened and I lost all motivation. However I'd dropped a stone that I managed to keep off until recently. So just want to regain lost ground really. Stop things escalating....

I have alot to lose about 6 stone at the moment. My work mate is doing it as well and has success. I've tried other diets in the past so thought I might as well give this a bash

Have been good today. Body Balance class first thing. 2 shakes and 2 bowls of tomato pasta all day. Lots of cups of tea. Am in bed now as hungry.....

@Campervan69 Well done on your successful day. I need to up the exercise to proper workouts at some point, too.

@Sideorderofchips That's great that you have a work colleague doing it. I told two people and they both were very dismissive about shakes. Hmm Saying it's a crash diet and it will come straight back on. When in reality, I managed to keep it off for years previously.

I started right after Christmas so had my first weigh in today:

-5 lbs! Which means 23 lbs to go.

This is pretty good for me. I'm a slow loser and never have those big losses most people get the first week. Otherwise, I'm feeling good. Headaches have passed and I'm not really hungry anymore.

Keep going, people!

I made a mistake

Today I have lost 9 stones exactly from 2nd May 2020. I hae a weightloss coach 125 miles away on Zoom. I will have her for life and check in with her from 8am to 8pm 7 days a week. I have never felt so much normalcy about losing weight.

Any advice on covering the evening snacking habits?

@OnlineMadNess That's so great that you have that support.

@Sideorderofchips For me, I can't have that stuff in the house or I will eat it. Can you do a clear out of all the tempting foods/Xmas leftovers? Gum, hot chocolate, fruit as emergency back ups work for me.

Other tips: brush your teeth, clean something that takes a long time, phone someone who you know will talk your ear off, same as @Campervan69: have a long bath/hot shower, do a facemask, footmask, paint your nails, get into jammies and get into bed early if at all possible.

This phase will pass. You can do it!

I can't really not have the snacks in as it's the kids stuff 🤦‍♀️ I'll go and get some under 100 cal crisps from the shop and more fruit today so I can snack on that. Once I'm. Back at work I'm more tired so have na earlier night. Hopefully it will pass soob

Hello - joining in if you don’t mind .... I find a meal bar at about 5 pm really helps me - otherwise am too hungry abs would snack. I have a soup at about 8ish.... but this is week one so let’s see how it goes.

I'm wondering if I can combine slim fast with the 16:8 diet. As I don't generally normally eat till lunchtime anyway as I'm not hungry in the morning. And then have my first shake at lunch and then one for 'dinner time' and then have my meal at 7-8

As long as you don't feel lightheaded, I'd give it a try. Sounds like it would fit your hunger cues more.

Hi I need to lose 3 stones as soon as possible. Really hard sticking to healthy eating as I will overeat so hoping to start slim fast tomorrow. I have same problem with snacks in the house but can’t get rid of as kids eat them too.

I eat out of boredom rather than hunger. Am hoping too that going back to work next week will help. Getting anxiety about going back. Just before Xmas people were asking me if I’m pregnant as I put on weight. Been stuffing myself over Xmas so embarrassed going back to work. Funny is definitely sticking out more!
