Dancing through December

Octopus37 · 30/11/2020 07:27

Well thought I would start the last thread of the year. Weighed in at 9st2.25 this month, my aim is to end December at a similar weight. I'm not realistically expecting to lose.

I'd even go so far as to say that being able to enjoy all the food these few days is one of the reasons for being so careful the rest of the year.

I do wish I could go out and get some exercise though, as I'd feel much more energised and it might burn some calories to clear some space for more FOOD. I did go for a walk with the kids, but since the youngest one was 3, an hour's walk with them probably provided as much exercise as 5 minutes on my own would. I think I'll go for a brisk walk on my own in a bit. It's too wet and dark and miserable to enjoy cycling.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 26/12/2020 17:39

Yes monochrome exercise the way to go for sure. I'm aiming for 14K daily steps for rest of break.. Really need to make a big effort. Not counting food but had a decent breakfast and lunch anyway.

IDontMindMarmite · 26/12/2020 18:19

Well i've done exercise today but there's no burning off what i've ingested today and yesterday Grin

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 26/12/2020 19:22

Oh and water, don't forget water will dissolve all the fat and alcohol and everything Grin

IDontMindMarmite · 26/12/2020 19:52

Magic water Grin

IDontMindMarmite · 26/12/2020 20:57

Just seen this:
Relax! It's not what you eat between Christmas and New Year that counts, it's what you eat between New Year and Christmas.

FestiveFannyGallops · 26/12/2020 21:10

@IDontMindMarmite I like that saying! I'll start being better with what I eat from new year but until then I won't worry about it too much.

Octopus37 · 26/12/2020 21:13

I had a reasonable walk today, over 8,000 steps, prob haven't eaten quite as much as I would normally eat over Christmas 9st3.25 this morning. Have still eaten plenty of crisps though etc, will aim to eat a bit more normally with a few treats tomorrow. Just eaten some of a chocolate pudding that I bought from Lidl, the boys weren't remotely interested in it. Will honestly scale right bac on food next year, apart from Christmas dinner, they just want to eat their normal stuff

I have managed 12k steps and about the same number of celebrations. However... JS just liked and replied to my tweet! Xmas Shock Swoon!

Thanks octopus, and I by your food! That's the result of a one hour walk, it's so doable just need to keep making the time! Met a friend so it was an hour well spent. Have to hit that every day now. 9am walk appointment for the morning. Have asked dh if anything else to eat but he has confirmed I've eaten everything.. Xmas Blush Glad I've a week to weigh in. I had gone up a half pound Christmas Day BTW.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 27/12/2020 08:38

Off for my walk.
Today's goals: 2.5L water, 12k steps. After that I can do whatever I want. Good wise we're cleaned out of the junk so Bailey's it is. Have a good day all.

TheHoneyBadger · 27/12/2020 09:14

Hi everyone. Staying well away from the scales. I like the saying about new year's to Christmas too. Hope everyone had a lovely day.

I just slept for over 12 hours so a decent fasting window should at least be achievable. I'm already at nearly 16 hours.

Not sure when I'll dare get on the scales. I'm guessing I've regained at least half a stone since late November. We're in tier 3 since yesterday. Think we were moved to tier 3 because we border tier 4 areas rather than our own rates. Everything crossed we don't get moved to tier 4 and have gyms closed again.

I think I'm going to have to make friends with running somehow even if it's some seriously slow jogging in the dark with no one around to witness it.

Octopus37 · 27/12/2020 09:27

Fingers crossed HoneyBadger that you don't go into tier 4. Heygirl, wouldn't say my foods been impressive, have still eaten a lot of junk, just marginally less than usual. Had a couple of wild berry gins whilst on a zoom call last night and party food and Morleys take away chips for tea. Have just eaten a yoghurt and a biscuit for breakfast. Like the idea of walk appointments, I talked to a friend on my phone whilst I walked yesterday which worked well. The weather is terrible here, we had a storm in the night, but I have to go out and do an audit later, 9st3.75 this morning. V tired due to storm and disturbed sleep. Aiming to drink lots of water today and eat a bit more normally

Monochrome4 · 27/12/2020 09:54

Morning everyone. I braved the scales and it wasn't too bad. I'm not going to bother counting calories until I've finished all the CHOCOLATES. I didn't sleep so well last night after such a sugar high, so I think I'll try and scale back a bit.

FestiveFannyGallops · 27/12/2020 11:14

60.7kg today. It's a sunny day here so I'm going to get out for a walk and blow away the cobwebs and some of the Pringles calories. I ate nearly half a tube last night with onion and garlic dip Blush I guess the extra weight is to do with the salt causing water retention. I've been drinking lots of water though so it should soon disappear.
Have a lovely day everyone!

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 27/12/2020 11:23

I slept till 7.30 which was an absolute gift. Just in from walk, 13k steps in the bag Smile Octopus your intake just send more restrained than me and my race to the bottom of the tin. Now to get the water in!

FestiveFannyGallops · 27/12/2020 22:59

I finished off the PringlesBlush we got a walk in and Ive hit all my targets for the day which is a good thing considering the Pringles. My period finally turned up this afternoon which might help explain the Pringles. It's 3 weeks late ffs and I've felt rotten since getting in from our walk when it started. It was lovely to be outside in the cold fresh air though and ds really enjoyed being out.

Has anyone thought on their aims for 2021? Another thread got me thinking on what mine are and I've decided on:

Keep to IF as it really helps with my bloating issues

Keep cooking from scratch as much as possible

Stick to Fitbit goals even at the weekends

Drink lots of magic water. I do drink water as my main drink anyway.

Always cleanse, tone and moisturise at night

Start riding my bike again if the dc are back in school next month

Lights out at 10pm

Octopus37 · 28/12/2020 07:32

Festive they sound like good goals. 9st4 this morning, ate quite a bit yesterday. No alcohol till NYE and then only a small amount (not that I ever have loads), cannot believe how much my tolerance has changed. 2 gins the night before last made me feel quite hungover yesterday morning. Just had a couple of biscuits for breakfast, have run out of loads of stuff at the moment, just have ridiculous amounts of Christmas chocolates, mainly ones we have been bought. Out to do an audit shortly so that will be some steps, v cold here today. Haven't thought loads about 2021 goals. I would like to lose a bit more weight if I can, but my main goal will be to complete my copy writing course and start to get some copy writing work.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 28/12/2020 08:04

That's exciting octopus. I will have a similar aim, to complete my postgrad and it will take a lot of work and time between now and then to get there!
Sounds good Fanny. I find my skincare goes hand in hand with my healthy eating etc.. Funny one.
I didn't eat a massive amount yesterday and the long walk early in the day was great. 12k steps on plan again today. I'm hitting the water target but still end up dehydrated at times.. Hope audit goes OK octopus, do you hope to change career eventually?

KnowingMeKnowingYule · 28/12/2020 08:11

Hello all! Completely went off track over Christmas but hey it's Christmas as too many shortbread biscuits and Bailey's is just temporary eh.

Anyway was 12 stone 7.2lbs this morning (was 17 stone 9lbs this time last year). Got to 12 stone 5lbs just before Christmas so here we go again!

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 28/12/2020 08:28

Wowzers knowingmeknowingyule! Shock That's incredible and not much of a gain considering Christmas. What are your tips? I'd like to get rid of 7-10 pounds by summer time but won't be thinking of that till next week. For now keeping it simple with water, activity and some decent sleep.

FestiveFannyGallops · 28/12/2020 08:46

I'm not weighing myself this morning as I feel dreadful with a heavy period. I'm hoping to stay under 61kg by New Year's Day.
There are some impressive weight loss stories on here!
