Well thought I would start the last thread of the year. Weighed in at 9st2.25 this month, my aim is to end December at a similar weight. I'm not realistically expecting to lose.

OP posts:

Some former parliament sitter with an addiction for modern day Tupperware Wink

FestiveFannyGallops · 02/12/2020 17:56

I left my Fitbit on charge when I went on the school run by accident so now I don't know my steps for today. Grrrr.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 02/12/2020 18:24

Ooh so annoying but don't you know the usual amount to at least tot up in your head? Honeyb I can't believe you're only on week two, it does seem a long time! I knew who you were Festive! Wink Finished eating for the day here and planning an earlier than usual bed!!

FestiveFannyGallops · 02/12/2020 19:14

It will be more than yesterday as I walked to long way to and from school and we did a detour on the way back too. I made a pizza for lunch and felt heavy and uncomfortable so won't be doing that again. I've not bothered with dinner as it was a whole pizza Blush

NellietheNumpty · 02/12/2020 19:17

@TheHoneyBadger. You are definitely not the only person at a heavier point. I am starting off at 71kg.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 02/12/2020 20:41

Maybe have something small Festive Fanny lol

Honeybadger, don't think like that, I have to say I know where you're all at but we're all very much on our own 'personal journey', not a lover of that term but it's true..

IDontMindMarmite · 02/12/2020 20:46

I started here at 11stone 7 or 8lbs. Can't believe i've lost so much tbh. I hope it's ok to stick around as I try to maintain.

IDontMindMarmite · 02/12/2020 20:50

I accidentally had 400 more calories than planned today but it's ok, happens rarely so i can absorb it.

Hangoverstruggles · 02/12/2020 20:54

Hello comrades!

December! WTF? Started the month at 9st12 which is basically a maintain again.glad I managed to rein the gain I had mid November.

In an ideal world I would lose now for a couple of weeks to allow for Christmas gain but I'm not sure I can do it. I've been eating good meals but then cracking into the Christmas treats 🙄

Today:

B yogurt, granola, berries, coffees
L peanut butter on rice cakes, banana
D mixed bean chilli and rice
S unknown amount of heroes whilst filling the boy advent calendar... if I didn't have this in the house I wouldn't eat it!!

I have been active today, and have made a soup for tomorrow so hopefully a better day 🤞

FestiveFannyGallops · 02/12/2020 20:57

@TheHoneyBadger I was a bit Confused when I first joined in August/September and saw how light people were but everyone has different goals and circumstances and hard as it is it's important not to compare. For example I only walk so much because I don't drive and school is over a mile away so there and bs k twice a day is 5 miles. I live in a town house in a hilly place too so my flights of stairs are fairly easy to come by.

My rule of 16:8 or rather 15:9 is very strict so I am forbidden by my silly head to eat after 6pm. I've only just started to feel a little hungry now and it's too late so I'll wait until breakfast. I was hungrier last night then I am tonight.

Has anyone else read that anything under a certain number of calories doesn't count as breaking your fast period? I can't remember where I read it now but it was ages ago. Something to do with a very light snack wound t cause your blood sugar to spike and therefore your fast wouldn't be affected. I have to have my cut off point thought as I'm an all or nothing person.

Hangoverstruggles · 02/12/2020 20:59

@IDontMindMarmite by the way amazing weightloss!! You haven't shared your weight for a while but I know you've been so very focused. You've done brilliantly! You must be a size 8 now at your height? Well done 😊

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 02/12/2020 21:05

You are in the zone Idontmindmarmite!! Well done. I feel I have drifted back into the zone without realising.. I am preparing my veg and lentil/bean/chickpea salad for tomorrow an have my eggs and mushrooms put for breakfast. Got a boost of energy so said would go with it.

Monochrome4 · 02/12/2020 21:11

@FestiveFannyGallops Amazing name!

@TheHoneyBadger So sorry you're having to homeschool again! Homeschooling broke me because my son just will not do anything that isn't his idea. On a really good day I might get 5 minutes of work out of him.

Marmite I can't remember what you are now but that's a big loss! Well done.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 02/12/2020 21:12

Have to post my yummy lunch. About 400g of food here, v good portion.

IDontMindMarmite · 02/12/2020 21:15

Thanks so much, i've tried to lose weight for years and only discovered MFP and CICO this year and it's really clicked for me. Haven't really been able to shop but yeah, 8-10 which I can't remember ever being before.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 02/12/2020 21:44

Seriously fantastic, you won't let that go! Star

DangerMouse17 · 02/12/2020 21:53

Hi, do you mind a newbie? I started off well in lockdown...loads of steps and exercise saw me losing weight. I'm back up to 165lbs and dont want to wait until January tbh. I'm starting to calorie count from tomorrow and will get back to some running/exercise. Blush

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 02/12/2020 21:57

Welcome and well done on previous losses. Plenty of us taking two steps forward and one back before moving on again.

FestiveFannyGallops · 02/12/2020 22:07

Hi Danger!
Oh to be an 8-10! Amazing results!

I'm definitely running at a deficit of around 500 calories a day at the moment. I usually aim for 1250 but it's really difficult when I do so much walking at a decent pace. I get really hungry to the point of feeling sick. I definitely prefer my main meal at 5pm and am more likely to eat an early lunch at 11 because I'm so hungry by then.

My Fitbit is back on so tomorrow will be logged nicely. It's funny how I've become so attached to it since June. It gives me a real lift to see how many miles I do a week. Often around 40. You'd think my ass would be smaller 😩

60.8kg was my lowest back in September so my abandonment of the 16:8 along with eating plenty of chocolate and lots of pizza has only resulted in gaining 1.5kg and that's with multiple isolation periods with no exercise at all so I'm not going to beat myself up.

60kg would be a fantastic Christmas present to myself 🎄

HoneysuckIejasmine · 02/12/2020 22:13

I'm going to have to ease on the exercise. Turns out my much neglected feet are currently going through athletes foot and s fungal nail infection, so I'm off to the pharmacy tomorrow. I didn't notice beside thinking it was a bit itchy now and then, I don't often look at my feet beyond trimming the nails quickly after a shower once a month Blush So, now need to keep them dry and not sweaty and avoid trainers apparently (?) so... Hiking shoes instead? Dunno! How mortifying.

Still, must remind myself weight loss is 80% odd diet anyway. Hmm

Octopus37 · 03/12/2020 06:47

Wow I dont mind marmite, 8-10 is amazing, I would have to lose getting on for another stone to be that, maybe next year. HoneyBadger, dont worry, you are doing well, pie with just veg is fine for your dinner, thinking of having something similar myself tonight, and the gym reopening will help you. Also, as you know I am also the owner of a 13 year old boy, they are difficult and certainly in 2019 my one added to my stress weight gain, Ended up having unexpected outside drinks (we bought drinks and crisps and sat in a beer garden) with my bestie, unfortunately she had some bad news yesterday. 9st2.25 this morning and feeling slightly hungover, Having a pop tart and a cereal bar for breakfast to try to feel better, may have turned into a light weight in a non scales type of way

OP posts:
FestiveFannyGallops · 03/12/2020 07:14

Poor feet Honey-hope they are fungus free soon. I have pomphlox on one foot and it itches like crazy then peels and is very unattractive. My feet are quite dry and are pounding those miles daily so I need to take better care of them.
Octopus, I'm sorry to hear your friend had bad newsThanks
I need to put new batteries in my scales as they rudely told me they were low. The pizza is sat heavily in my guts so I was 62 this morning. Ah well, rice cakes today and soup for dinner. The weather is pants and it's cold with snow forecast later but this will not deter me from my walk.
Have a good day everyone!

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 03/12/2020 08:35

No change for me this AM. Feeling good after a great tho a little late, sleep. Great being all organised in advance.
B: scrambled eggs, beans and mushrooms
L: roast veg with all the pulses
S pear and almonds
D: enchilada left over
3L water, 10k minimum and lights off 10.30
Have a great day all! Rainy and cold here!

TheHoneyBadger · 03/12/2020 09:04

Thanks all. Marmite I hope you don't think I was moaning about slim people. Of course you should stick around for maintenance. It's the key part really. I was just feeling sorry for myself and wondering if I should be here given my lack of success and back sliding recently.

Yes octopus I know you know the challenges of a 13yo boy 🤪 No grey hairs yet but he's definitely giving me worry lines. Yesterday went pretty well because I sat with him for a few lessons encouraging and pushing. There is definitely no independent motivation to work going on.

Awful food day yesterday in the end as I did late night junk eating. Hope I can pull myself out of this. It's totally emotional comfort eating. Hope no one minds me sticking around. Sorry it's all negativity at the minute. I am still sane though so goal no.1 still being met.

TheHoneyBadger · 03/12/2020 09:55

Right. Things I can commit to
-get back to drinking lots of water
-get back to making sure of hourly activity (I've just been doing that slow jogging thing around the downstairs of my house)
-get back to the gym.

I don't feel ready to commit to food or drink goals but I'm hoping the above will get me back to focus and remembering small goals and changes make a difference and can be built upon.
