Dancing through December

Well thought I would start the last thread of the year. Weighed in at 9st2.25 this month, my aim is to end December at a similar weight. I'm not realistically expecting to lose.

Yes, he's doing a great job. Bless him, he seems to maintain for a month before losing a couple of lbs which has been a frustrating thing to learn but i guess it's just his body's way. He'll not change his calorie deficit until after Christmas now but I think he'll do the same calorie cycling thing as me to give more weekend leeway.
I tend to do more cycling than him strangely considering he's bought the fancy bike. I think he was probably thinking of me too Smile

Octopus37 · 19/12/2020 08:47

Sounds as if everyone's doing well. I'm floundering a bit here, met a friend to eat fish and chips outside. Not surprisingly up to 9st3.75 this morning. Also was planning on a lazy day with not many steps for various reasons, think I will need to rethink that and go out for a long dog walk later. Aiming to drink lots of water today and to eat more mindfully, think that's going to be the key for me over the next couple of weeks. Off to start working on my assignment now got a bit of a mental block but I'll get there.

Oh you're studying too? Best of luck octopus. I'm definitely happier with the weekly weigh octopus and not feeling so 'punished' by the bad days, would you consider it? Your day sounded so lovely, it's a pity to feel you're floundering after it.. You don't deserve that having maintained so well with no big bounces for so long.

IDontMindMarmite · 19/12/2020 10:01

God I can't get on the scales the day after take away, you need to give it a few days for the salt to let go of that water retention for you Grin

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 19/12/2020 10:13

JS posted about I yesterday, he went up 4lbs in one day after a wedding, lost 7lbs that month.. He says overweighing can be demotivating as you spot all the jumps.. Working for me at mo, I don't even mean weight wise, just head wise. I won't think about weighing till next Fri.

Monochrome4 · 19/12/2020 11:18

Morning all. I've gone off the rails this week due to my son self-isolating. I'm getting back on track now and briefly signing in here for accountability!

Octopus37 · 19/12/2020 19:06

Yes Heygirl, I think you're right, I shouldn't be floundering after a gain. I might start weekly weigh ins next year, just feel that I need to keep myself on a tight leash. I am studying towards a Level 4 Diploma in Copywriting. I started it in November so its still quite early days, did ok today. Guess eveyone's feeling pretty crap right now with the new restrictions, it doesn't massively effect us, just a couple of cancelled small plans, but really feel for other people. My bestie was going to go up North to see her parents, they've both got cancer and she doesn't know whether to still go or not so hard for her. Just had an email from school to tell me that my youngest DS has to self-isolate again, just until Christmas Eve, cause of a case in his year at school. Luckily he isn't bothered, just hope he stays well cause this is the second time. Hope everyone is as ok as they can be today

Good on you re diploma, sounds impressive! I definitely don't think you need that feeling of doing wrong after a very much deserved meet up.. Worth considering for sure. For my part I've had a really lovely birthday, feeling good and got some touching gifts and moments along the way.
B: scrambled egg and beans, proper latte
D: goat's cheese and walnut pizza with a peroni, a prosecco and a slice of chocolate cake. Because I'm worth it Grin
That's me logged. Run for this old lady in the morning Smile

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 19/12/2020 22:13

More musings from me..! I actually feel the weekly weigh in more of a 'commitment' as such as the daily one, when for me, not being strict and consistent, I felt I was excusing every jump and not holding any small loss, if that makes sense, as if it didn't mean anything because of constantly chopping and changing. I'll see anyway in a matter of weeks but as it stands feel will want the one weigh to count iyswim.

Octopus37 · 19/12/2020 22:37

Heygirl didn't realise it was your Birthday sorry, hope you've had a lovely day

Feeling good but moving slowly here today Octopus. I'm sure I have a list of stuff to do! Have had breakfast so will run after 11. Have a good day all and yes yes re water!

FestiveFannyGallops · 20/12/2020 09:59

61kg this morning but that was with PJs on and constipationBlush I've also eaten lots of salty things this last week. I did get a walk in yesterday and hit my step goal but without the school run I feel like a sloth.
I've decided to put the Christmas chocolates away until Christmas Eve as they are just too tempting.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 20/12/2020 17:27

Logging in!
B: Berries and Greek yoghurt and coffee
L: two slices leftover goat's cheese pizza
D: lasagna with broccoli and peas (lots!) followed by large slice leftover birthday cake
S: small bowl muesli (40g), 20 almonds, mandarin.
14k steps Inc run and walk, probably at around 2L with water, will get another litre in. First proper activity day in a week, feels good. Might even get another walk in later. Hope everyone had a lovely weekend.

IDontMindMarmite · 20/12/2020 17:51

Hello hello. We've done a lot of walking today which is nice as haven't done that for a while. I've got so much to be grateful for, i've been getting weighed down by how hard life is at the moment, I might do a gratitude list soon to try and bring some balance.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 20/12/2020 21:35

That brings me to 1706, not bad at all and 15k steps in by now. These teeth whitening strips really are the business as I'd i didn't have them in now I'd definitely go for another slice of cake Grin Anyone wearing anything nice for Christmas day?!

Octopus37 · 20/12/2020 21:48

Yes, I'm wearing a black and gold dress with sequins that I got from Quiz a couple of years ago. Even though its a size 12 it felt a bit snug last year.

OP posts:
HeyGirlHeyBoy · 20/12/2020 21:49

Ooh and have you tried it recently?! You've made me remember that I haven't yet worn a wool coat that was tight on my arms last year.. Must try. Great you have something dressy. I don't.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 20/12/2020 21:50

Good for your dh keeping at it Idontmindmarmite! You sound like a lovely couple.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 20/12/2020 21:56

I wish I did a before shot last Jan.. Caught a glimpse of myself on a FB video memory of a friend from this time last year.. I can really see the weight..

Octopus37 · 21/12/2020 07:31

Yes Heygirl it fits a bit better now. My dress that I bought for last year (it was an H&M size L) is a little bit big now. Haven't noticed a difference over the year with my skirts and stuff really, apart from some maybe no longer being too tight, but my loss is only just over half a stone so still a size 12 really. I'm sure your coat will fit nicely Heygirl. I do love dressy clothes so its nice to have something. 9st2.25 this morning.

FestiveFannyGallops · 21/12/2020 08:30

60.2kg this morning which is my lowest so far and I feel very pleased with that especially as I've been eating chocolate and mince pies and pizza and not doing the school run. My period is now 2 weeks late so I've given up on it and am hoping the menopause is ever closer.
Have we a great day everyone.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 21/12/2020 08:38

What kind of voodoo are you working there Fanny?! Grin Sounds good!

Great you feel a difference octopus, remind me of your height again, I don't think you're as míní as me.

I woke up with a thumping head, sore throat lingering, dehydrated and period... Wish I could have stayed in bed! But ill go mad on the water today.
Plan 0k minimum, 10pm bed, 3L water, no junk
B:weetabix and coffee
L: berries, banana and large portion Greek yoghurt with almonds
D: chicken, potatoes, carrots. Will post later for actual intake. Have a good day all!

IDontMindMarmite · 21/12/2020 08:46

Thanks Heygirl, that's kind. Yeah Festivefanny, sounds like you've got a great new secret! Grin

Monochrome4 · 21/12/2020 10:05

Morning all! It's satisfying trying on clothes when you've lost weight, isn't it? I haven't decided what to wear on Christmas Day. We are now going to celebrate just the four of us as a family. We were going to have my brother and dad. I'm sad they'll both be on their own, but I feel much safer for them not to come because my husband works in the NHS and a lot of his colleagues have Covid, and I've been teaching in two different schools where there have been cases.

61.7kg this morning Sad. Big upswing. Please keep me on the straight and narrow ladies! I've been over calorie budget every day for ages, by sneaking in snacks and not measuring dinner etc. I will try to keep to budget all this week until Christmas and keep my fingers crossed it will get the graph going back the right way again. Hopefully the rain will stop for long enough for me to go out on my bike today.
