Hi! So during the first lockdown, i set up an instagram where I posted photos of every single thing that entered my mouth except from tea, and it really did discourage pointless snacking as I’d pop into the kitchen for a random biscuit but then I couldn’t be bothered to take a photo of biscuit as phone was in the other room, then I realised I didn’t actually really need the biscuit and back it went! It was super effective for a while and along with MFP I lost about a stone, but then I started to follow other instagram account and got some followers back and felt pressure to make everything look pretty, which meant I stopped posting absolutely everything so started having random snacks again, and have now put back on a few pounds! I tried setting up a new private instagram but wasn’t really that motivated! So I’m starting again but instead hoping a mumsnet thread will help!? Anyone fancy joining?!

I’m for a calorie deficit of around 500 per day, so eating about 1750-2000 and burning 2250-2500 (i have a fitbit alta which estimates total calories burnt). I walk a lot (1.5-2 hours a day with dog plus i walk to work) but am going to try getting into running again too! Trying to not be too restrictive food-wise as I’m having problems overeating by quite a bit some days! (when I don’t track while eating and then add up after I can easily put away 4000 calories a day without realising Confused )
I’m currently about 9stone (havent checked for a bit so possibly more!) and aiming for about 8st4.
So yes, please do join and we can look at eachother’s non-instagram-able food! Halo

Ps. a tip I never knew about MFP which makes life sooo much easier, is you can click edit, and check all ingredients for a meal if you’re batch cooking for example, then do ‘save meal’! Saved sooo much time! But maybe everyone knew this already except from me Grin

Todays food for me:
Breakfast: banana bread muffin, microwaved with frozen berries, biscoff spread, 2 crumbled biscoff biscuits (fully recommended, tastes like berry crumble!), 200g greek yoghurt mixed with cinnamon, plus a small mocha ~ 508 cals
Lunch: chicken paella leftover ~ 410 cals
Snack at work: Almond bounce ball - 158 cals
Snack after work: mini hersheys bar plus 2 mini cinnamon biscuits - 78 cals
Dinner: Vegan burger with cheese, sweet pot fries and salad - 800 cals
Lots of tea with oat milk! - 44 cals
Total cals: ~ 1954

Rest of yesterdays food! Had no oat milk yesterday so i had to try aldi unsweetened soya and it had the worst taste ever 🤢 completely ruined my chai latte but as i hate waste i still drank 3/4 😂 then had pea, broccoli and mint soup from a can with 2 slices of bread with flora, and a 30g slice of DPs pizza

Then had some of hotel chocolate dipping adventure! I actually weighed out my portion of chocolate and the nibbles so I knew calories, and it waa about 310 cals in total! Nice little treat, and i didn’t feel inclined to snack after (apart from 10 g lotus spread 😂). Ate around 2200 cals yesterday and burnt 2330 so a tiiiny deficit, but today I’ll try being more active and cut down calories a bit! Oh also did 1st day of yoga with Adrienne yesterday, really happy to get back on the yoga train as I felt good after!

Oh that’s weird @pontiouspilates, hopefully it works today!
Yesterday was a bit odd for me, ended up skipping breakfast and had sweet potato fries from a takeaway, but also ate about 1/4-1/3 a large portion of fish and chips (that i didn’t want but DP left loooads and I just can’t stand food waste, but i have to remember it’s still a waste if I eat it but don’t want it/it makes me feel rubbish), then I had an oat milk mocha from a cafe, but then didn’t have any appetite for the rest of the day, so ate nothing, until 10pm where I had some ben and jerrys (66g so about 180cals worth) in a cone with 10g biscoff spread! So definitely not a nutritious day at all!
Feeling more normal today so had an oat milk mocha for breakfast and then falafel, eggs and a chapatti for brunch (did the falafel and tomatoes in the air fryer for about 10 mins and they were lovely)

brunch (also added crispy onions and pine nuts and 20g pizza express salad dressing plus red onion chutney, ketchup and light mayo- all the extras add about 170 cals 🤪 so i guess this is something i can cut if i need to, but for now I really enjoy them and they make the food more fun for me!)

it was tasty @riotlady! looks a bit extravagant for a monday lunchtime i know, but it didn’t take long!
Today I had a few snacks (was pretty anxious earlier today with all the uncertainties, as i’m sure so many people were, but managed not to over comfort eat by planning some nice substantial snacks! 1 chocolate, a stuffed date and Aldi greek yoghurt mixed with banana protein powder, with 2 party rings crumbled in and some blueberries! V good if you need a protein kick, and the crumbled biscuits are deff worth the extra cals in my opinion!

Then i had 3 quorn nuggets and a very comforting dinner of aldi goats cheese and red onion pastry, air fryer carrots (will parboil them next time!) and broccoli with gravy. 2030 cals eaten and I’ll try to burn 2400 by the end of today!

I hope everyone is ok following today’s announcements!

Hope you don’t mind me joining in! Alas my food presentation isn’t great

Breakfast- microwaved apple with cinnamon (sounds gross but it’s really nice xD) with yoghurt and nutty granola
Lunch- omelette and roasted pepper
Dinner- Chicken tray bake with pancetta, potatoes and tomatoes

Love this idea - I also set up an instagram account but never posted as Insta suggests you to everybody you know and I wanted to be anonymous! I'm sure there must be a platform or app for this, posting on MN seems a bit cumbersome. But great idea for accountability - I really really want to lose my lockdown pounds.

Sounds lovely @pontiouspilates! I feel very ignorant I had to google persimmon!!
My day was
Breakfast- white choc mint mocha and a croissant with cheese, parma ham and tomato
Lunch- veggie sausage, egg and cheese flatbread
Snack- a cadbury snowman mousse chocolate and 1 hotel choc, then 2 stuffed dates
Dinner- falafel sausage roll and sweet potato fries (i didn’t intentionally have this few, just DP didn’t cook many!)

Possibly later will have a chai latte!

I’m not really achieving a deficit atm as I’m not being as active but I’m happy with that and think i’ll just aim to maintain in Jan, take the pressure off a bit!

Lunch- omelette and roasted pepper again, added some new potatoes this time as I got hungry last time
Dinner- takeaway! Boiled rice, saag aloo, dal and tikka chicken

Yesterdays food (still not able to upload pics - sorry!)
B: porridge with raspberries and banana
L: cheese and crackers with pickles
D: creamy garlic (Quorn) chicken with pasta
Snacks: 2 Ferrero Rocher and an Hotel Chocolate dark chocolate baton (Xmas leftovers!)
Still well over calories but fewer snacks at least!)

All sounds v good and healthy! I’m being inspired to cut down the snacks and actually managed a 500 cal deficit today hooray!

so for the crumble I’ve kind of forgotten the perfect timings orrr my biscuits are too soft as been opened too long, cause the crumble part has been quite soft recently! but it has been perfect sometimes! But roughly 90 secs for the frozen berries (30s at a time and stir them), then add biscoff spread 30s then add crumbled biscuits 10secs? then do custard separately or have it with greek yoghurt

Yes i love salads atm! Think deff buying balsamic glaze/ nice dressings/ crispy onions helps a lot!

I really need to reduce snacking 😂 Last night after posting i ate about 200 cals of snacky stuff too but still in a deficit at least!

Todays food-
Breakfast- mint mocha (made with 10g grated choc, mmmmm) and croissant with cheese melted in and scrambled eggs
Lunch- tuna quesadilla
Snacks (not all photographed) 2 party rings, 3 cinnamon pastry biscuits, a poptart, biscoff/berry crumble (had to ‘test’ the recipe 🤪) but like i say the crumble was a bit soft) 4 crackers
Dinner- salmon cous cous parcel (only had about 1/4 pack of cous cous, then bulked out loads with carrot, celery, pepper and onion, I bought a food processor and my goodness, so glad my days of spending hours chopping veg/ my finger are over!!!)
