Hi! So during the first lockdown, i set up an instagram where I posted photos of every single thing that entered my mouth except from tea, and it really did discourage pointless snacking as I’d pop into the kitchen for a random biscuit but then I couldn’t be bothered to take a photo of biscuit as phone was in the other room, then I realised I didn’t actually really need the biscuit and back it went! It was super effective for a while and along with MFP I lost about a stone, but then I started to follow other instagram account and got some followers back and felt pressure to make everything look pretty, which meant I stopped posting absolutely everything so started having random snacks again, and have now put back on a few pounds! I tried setting up a new private instagram but wasn’t really that motivated! So I’m starting again but instead hoping a mumsnet thread will help!? Anyone fancy joining?!

I’m for a calorie deficit of around 500 per day, so eating about 1750-2000 and burning 2250-2500 (i have a fitbit alta which estimates total calories burnt). I walk a lot (1.5-2 hours a day with dog plus i walk to work) but am going to try getting into running again too! Trying to not be too restrictive food-wise as I’m having problems overeating by quite a bit some days! (when I don’t track while eating and then add up after I can easily put away 4000 calories a day without realising Confused )
I’m currently about 9stone (havent checked for a bit so possibly more!) and aiming for about 8st4.
So yes, please do join and we can look at eachother’s non-instagram-able food! Halo

Ps. a tip I never knew about MFP which makes life sooo much easier, is you can click edit, and check all ingredients for a meal if you’re batch cooking for example, then do ‘save meal’! Saved sooo much time! But maybe everyone knew this already except from me Grin

Todays food for me:
Breakfast: banana bread muffin, microwaved with frozen berries, biscoff spread, 2 crumbled biscoff biscuits (fully recommended, tastes like berry crumble!), 200g greek yoghurt mixed with cinnamon, plus a small mocha ~ 508 cals
Lunch: chicken paella leftover ~ 410 cals
Snack at work: Almond bounce ball - 158 cals
Snack after work: mini hersheys bar plus 2 mini cinnamon biscuits - 78 cals
Dinner: Vegan burger with cheese, sweet pot fries and salad - 800 cals
Lots of tea with oat milk! - 44 cals
Total cals: ~ 1954

Breakfast: 2 homemade scones with jam

Mid morning: banana

Lunch: potato gnocchi and salad

Mid afternoon: 2 scones, one with jam and one with biscoff (jam was better)

Dinner: Salmon and pesto tagliatelle (no pic as it smelt too good to waste time on finding my phone)

Late snack: banana (no pic as I couldn't be arsed to look for my phone)

Snack- kinder cereal bar and 20g tesco imitation lindt
Dinner- paneer, spinach and chickpea stuffed pancakes with Greek yoghurt

115 kg for me this week. That's a tiny gain but I can live with that. Next week will be better. Yesterday I had:

Breakfast: crispbreads with bousin

Mid morning: an apple

Lunch: tagliatelle with salmon and pesto and sallad

All looks lovely @FatCatThinCat, yes I’m sure it’s just fluctuation!! Thank you, dinner was yum and I’m having the leftovers tonight!

Today has so far been lovely food and lots of walking, don’t often get Saturday off so making the most of it 😜
Breakfast- white chocolate hazelnut mocha and half a white choc, raspberry and coconut oatie

Snack- pistachio cannoli and half a white chocolate pastry thing from a food market

Lunch- pineapple juice, spiced cauliflower and vegan ribs, very delicious pub grub!! Then a cappuccino

Fitbit wasn’t charged but have done about 3 hours walking 🚶‍♀️

Can I join in please? It's really tricky as I want to lose weight, but am Marathon training, so I need to find a balance. I've realised I can't 'diet' or I'll make myself ill with all the training, so I just need to not turn automatically to eating all of the toast which is easier said than done!

Scrolling through your pics (instead of working) is really inspiring!

Wow marathon training is v impressive!! Yes taking photos deffs helps not being tempted to eat just toast all the time haha!
I’ve just weighed myself for first time in a few months and I wish I’d weighed myself sooner 😅 I’ve put on quite a few pounds and this morning was 9st 5.2, I’ve not been binging at all but have definitely been very relaxed and enjoying my food a lot, meals out etc, nice snacks.. wish I could just eat what I need without tracking but seems like if I don’t track I will always eat in a surplus. So today I’m starting intermittent fasting again and I’m going to properly concentrate on eating in a deficit each day and take photos etc, going to aim for maybe 1600-1800 cals a day and see how I’m doing. Today so far has been almond milk coffees and eggs benedict and 2 stuffed dates. Tonight I think I’ll have half a pizza with a tin of tuna. If I need to snack it’ll be dark choc and almonds! Going away Friday- Monday so will try having two good days today and tomorrow!

The dates are just medjool dates so they’re quite large, aldi do really nice ones but these are from Tesco, just de - stone and put in almond butter or any spread really, then I put some white choc in and sometimes a bit of biscuit hehe

Dinner and snacks! Had some extra almonds and raisins and chocolate, also had lots of squash and more almond milk coffee, eaten around 1700 cals and burnt around 2700 cals

Quite dramatic scale results since wed! Either scales are broken or it was loads of water weight?! Anyway, treating myself to a nice café coffee this morning but going to ask for half the amount of syrup! Compromises 😅

Oh yes we are!
Eggs benedict and stuffed dates, my white choc hazelnut mocha with half the syrup and half the white choc wasn’t as nice as it normally is haha (surprise!) so I’ll just be getting as normal next time I think!
