Hi! So during the first lockdown, i set up an instagram where I posted photos of every single thing that entered my mouth except from tea, and it really did discourage pointless snacking as I’d pop into the kitchen for a random biscuit but then I couldn’t be bothered to take a photo of biscuit as phone was in the other room, then I realised I didn’t actually really need the biscuit and back it went! It was super effective for a while and along with MFP I lost about a stone, but then I started to follow other instagram account and got some followers back and felt pressure to make everything look pretty, which meant I stopped posting absolutely everything so started having random snacks again, and have now put back on a few pounds! I tried setting up a new private instagram but wasn’t really that motivated! So I’m starting again but instead hoping a mumsnet thread will help!? Anyone fancy joining?!

I’m for a calorie deficit of around 500 per day, so eating about 1750-2000 and burning 2250-2500 (i have a fitbit alta which estimates total calories burnt). I walk a lot (1.5-2 hours a day with dog plus i walk to work) but am going to try getting into running again too! Trying to not be too restrictive food-wise as I’m having problems overeating by quite a bit some days! (when I don’t track while eating and then add up after I can easily put away 4000 calories a day without realising Confused )
I’m currently about 9stone (havent checked for a bit so possibly more!) and aiming for about 8st4.
So yes, please do join and we can look at eachother’s non-instagram-able food! Halo

Ps. a tip I never knew about MFP which makes life sooo much easier, is you can click edit, and check all ingredients for a meal if you’re batch cooking for example, then do ‘save meal’! Saved sooo much time! But maybe everyone knew this already except from me Grin

Todays food for me:
Breakfast: banana bread muffin, microwaved with frozen berries, biscoff spread, 2 crumbled biscoff biscuits (fully recommended, tastes like berry crumble!), 200g greek yoghurt mixed with cinnamon, plus a small mocha ~ 508 cals
Lunch: chicken paella leftover ~ 410 cals
Snack at work: Almond bounce ball - 158 cals
Snack after work: mini hersheys bar plus 2 mini cinnamon biscuits - 78 cals
Dinner: Vegan burger with cheese, sweet pot fries and salad - 800 cals
Lots of tea with oat milk! - 44 cals
Total cals: ~ 1954

Oo yum @Smile3! Rather than no snacks I had some nice dark chocolate (25g) as unlike other snacks it doesn’t lead to me eating loads of snacks! Then had chicken fajita bowl with cheese melted in, and some blueberries and an almond milk decaf latte 🥰 haven’t counted cals but I think I’ll roughly be on about 2000 cals :)

Breakfast: toast and ginger jam

Mid morning: banana

Lunch: beef and rise noodle salad

Mid afternoon: cake, way to much cake. School dinner cake and homemade malt loaf.

Dinner: Sushi from the new sushi bar that's opened in our village. I haven't had sushi before and was dreading it, but it was DS's choice. I loved it.

Ok so not the best healthy day today but I'm telling myself its fines it's all iv eaten this is where I tend to struggle as its weekend but back on my fast now. Had pork and apple burger with fries was really tasty. Finished on 1600 cals and burnt 2700 Wink

I had a peek at the scales this morning and I've lost nothing so far this week, which is depressing given I've stuck to my diet 100%. Yesterday I had:

Breakfast- oat milk mocha (92cals)

  • 2 mini cinnamon buns, 200g Greek yoghurt, 10g melted biscoff spread, 5g almond butter, 10g raisins, blueberries (422 cals)
Aiming for no snacks the rest of the day or just dark choc, had a few snacky days!

35g Lindt, 1 mini cinnamon roll and smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel :) the cinnamon roll was unplanned but only 80cals so it’s ok!

I'm not too worried about the second lunch binge. I'm full of cold so my sleep apnea won't be properly controlled plus I felt so tired and poorly. I went back to bed after eating for a couple of hours which saved me from going too crazy.

I managed to accidentally delete all the photos on my phone this morning, so no pics for me for yesterday. But had I posted them it would have been endless empty packets of biscuits. Bloody cold!
