Hi! So during the first lockdown, i set up an instagram where I posted photos of every single thing that entered my mouth except from tea, and it really did discourage pointless snacking as I’d pop into the kitchen for a random biscuit but then I couldn’t be bothered to take a photo of biscuit as phone was in the other room, then I realised I didn’t actually really need the biscuit and back it went! It was super effective for a while and along with MFP I lost about a stone, but then I started to follow other instagram account and got some followers back and felt pressure to make everything look pretty, which meant I stopped posting absolutely everything so started having random snacks again, and have now put back on a few pounds! I tried setting up a new private instagram but wasn’t really that motivated! So I’m starting again but instead hoping a mumsnet thread will help!? Anyone fancy joining?!

I’m for a calorie deficit of around 500 per day, so eating about 1750-2000 and burning 2250-2500 (i have a fitbit alta which estimates total calories burnt). I walk a lot (1.5-2 hours a day with dog plus i walk to work) but am going to try getting into running again too! Trying to not be too restrictive food-wise as I’m having problems overeating by quite a bit some days! (when I don’t track while eating and then add up after I can easily put away 4000 calories a day without realising Confused )
I’m currently about 9stone (havent checked for a bit so possibly more!) and aiming for about 8st4.
So yes, please do join and we can look at eachother’s non-instagram-able food! Halo

Ps. a tip I never knew about MFP which makes life sooo much easier, is you can click edit, and check all ingredients for a meal if you’re batch cooking for example, then do ‘save meal’! Saved sooo much time! But maybe everyone knew this already except from me Grin

Todays food for me:
Breakfast: banana bread muffin, microwaved with frozen berries, biscoff spread, 2 crumbled biscoff biscuits (fully recommended, tastes like berry crumble!), 200g greek yoghurt mixed with cinnamon, plus a small mocha ~ 508 cals
Lunch: chicken paella leftover ~ 410 cals
Snack at work: Almond bounce ball - 158 cals
Snack after work: mini hersheys bar plus 2 mini cinnamon biscuits - 78 cals
Dinner: Vegan burger with cheese, sweet pot fries and salad - 800 cals
Lots of tea with oat milk! - 44 cals
Total cals: ~ 1954

My goodness @FatCatThinCat I’ve never heard of Selma before but I want it x 1000 it looks amazing.. do you know if there is an English equivalent?!?

Food yesterday:
Breakfast- gingerbread mocha large
Brunch- smoked salmon and poached eggs on toasted bun
Pudding- toffee cream meringue
Snacks- 15g flame raisins and 15g goji berries (also more than just this photo) 18g lindt not photographed, 1 biscoff cream, maple tart greek yoghurt and spread and almond butter
2 x almond milk mochas and 1 chai latte
Dinner- fish and mushy peas, then also had about 9 chips that DP left, and a bit of batter i didnt photograph- have estimated 830 cals for all this
Again quite a lot of food, 2430 ish cals but I burnt 2550 :) also the scales say I’ve lost the pound I gained last week plus 0.2 pound haha which I’m happy about considering all the food I’ve eaten 🤪

Also @canipressthebackbuttonplease i didn’t even know philadelphia chocolate spread exists! Is it nice? And is it still like soft cheese just choc flavour or is that a ridiculous question?

Hey everyone. Had a few days off Ive not been well since Tuesday morning. Had my covid vaccine Monday morning and it made me feel terrible but back to normal now just a sore arm. Hope everyone is well.

Made a pizza today with my little boy he loved it. I kept it plain though so just cheese but was still nice.

New daily calories according to MFP to lose 2lb per week - 1840
My new BMR - 2270

1pm - pizza.
6:30pm - ham, cheese, cucumber and sweet chilli wrap, banana, lentil curls.

Drinks - 1 coffees, 1 beanies coffee, 900 ml squash, cup of tea, 300ml water.

Calories eaten - 1571
Calories burned - 2565
Calorie deficit - 994

Self control went out the window today! DD was up from 1-4.30am last night so I’m shattered. No pics

Breakfast- Bacon sandwich
Lunch- McDonald’s fillet of fish and medium fries
Snack- Costa hot chocolate and muffin
Dinner- Omelette and salad

@Friedbanana - that's exactly it!! It's a soft cheese chocolate flavour lol. I absolutely love it as well, you get about 5 servings out of each tub,80 calories each but it feels really indulgent.

Today I've walked 4.5 miles, did 20 minutes of Pilates and another 20 minutes of HIIT again! Can't wait until it's warmer so I can face running again.

Breakfast: Madeline fruit cake and belvita breakfast biscuits (350 calories)
Lunch: Chilli and lemon crisps, some melon, pineapple and mango, and some rice with feta and lettuce. Also a skinny latte (550 calories)
Snack: two Quorn scotch eggs,a creme egg and a chocolate slice (400 calories)
Dinner: mushroom stroganoff (700 calories)

Total eaten: 2000
Total burnt: maybe 1900 according to my watch

After all this talk of biscoff spread, I'm going to have to buy some and see which group I'm in - lover or a hater!

I think the people on the Biscoff thread are all in denial. They say they hate it but are secretly scoffing it straight out of the jar.

Yesterday I had:

Breakfast: toast and ginger jam

Mid morning: nothing

Lunch: pork pepper sauce and roast veggies

Mid afternoon: raspberry smoothie with was bloody lovely

Dinner: chicken and pasta salad (no pic)

I'm worried about how today is going to go as DS was up at 6.00 and kept getting over excited about computer games. He thinks he's one of these youtubers, shouting his head off. So I couldn't sleep and that means trouble for my eating.

@Friedbanana I don't think there is anything quite like a semla in the UK. The closest would be a cream iced bun, in a bowl of warm milk.

Weigh in day for me and I’m 2lbs down this week! Very pleased as I’d been gaining and losing the same pound for a few weeks so looks like I’m now over that hump

@Friedbanana that’s hilarious, who knew that B***f spread was such a controversial topic! Philadelphia chocolate spread is so nice! It tastes like chocolate cheesecake topping 🤤
Yesterday’s food:
B: Half a slice of toast; scrambled egg; 1x frankfurter; small mocha;
L: Homemade soup; Lentil curls;
Snack: 2 squares of Lindt; 3x mini eggs; Dairylea dunkers;
Dinner: Spaghetti/courgetti with a creamy sauce (made up of a bit of double cream, cream cheese and creme fraiche and bit of garlic) and smoked salmon
1st Dessert: About a tablespoon of chocolate pudding -It was a 2 ingredient recipe using Nutella and eggs, it was nice but not amazing or worth the calories in my opinion.
2nd Dessert: Banana ‘ice cream’ with biscoff, cooked apple, nuts and 5g dark chocolate chips
Calories eaten: 1784
Calories burnt: 2024

Today started off well, I’ve done 8000 steps, eaten a healthy breakfast but then there was a knock at the door and picture two arrived.. it’s my birthday this weekend so I think calorie counting might be put on hold for a couple of days! 😬

Hi everyone!!

I haven't taken many pictures today as I've been run off my feet. Exercise wise I walked about 5000 steps and did a 25 minute weight lifting routine.

As it's Friday it is takeaway and wine night! We're getting an Indian but to save some calories I am going to eat my naan bread and half my curry for brunch tomorrow...

Today's food:
Breakfast: belvita breakfast biscuits and a little Madeline cake (350)
Lunch: six Quorn scotch eggs, rice, feta and lettuce (550)
Snacks: Five Oreos (250), slice of bread (100)
Dinner: poppadoms and dips, a soya tikka starter, some paneer, half a side of vegetable jalfrezi and half a side of mushroom masala. (Maybe 1000)
Drinks: half a bottle of wine, milky coffee (350)

Today I have had about 2400 calories or thereabouts. I feel really terrible about my body today 😭 but I am trying to make better choices and am exercising so should cut myself some slack.

I fell so far off the wagon yesterday that I can barely see its dust on the horizon. Eating biscoff straight out of the jar with a spoon and not much else. 0.2 kg weight gain this week. But I knew this would happen. If I can't sleep I can't diet. Will do better today!

Thank you for philly link @canipressthebackbuttonplease!! Not available at my local store apparently 😭 I will keep an eye out though as it sounds amazing! Ahh yeah deff cut yourself some slack but yes days like that are shit! Try and talk to yourself like you would talk to a friend! Sorry if that’s super patronising haha but I’m trying to do that more and think it’s helping
@FatCatThinCat haha omg are they 2 more industrial size jars?! I also have a bit of a stock of jars haha good to know we will never run out!
I also had 2 really shit days of eating, like 2 binges in a row which I just don’t understand as I haven’t been restricting at all and wasn’t particularly stressed.. disappointed that I let one bad day turn into 2 but I did do a run each day which hopefully offset some of the damage, and I’m back to taking photos today and plan on no snacking! Sorry to hear you had a shit day too @fatcat , you’re deff right about sleep, makes such a difference doesnt it!

Yep, 2 more giant ones as the first one is now empty. In my defence I have to order them and pay postage each time so getting 2 more saves about £10.

Today has been a bad day. I'm just so tired and that's reflected in my food.
