Hi! So during the first lockdown, i set up an instagram where I posted photos of every single thing that entered my mouth except from tea, and it really did discourage pointless snacking as I’d pop into the kitchen for a random biscuit but then I couldn’t be bothered to take a photo of biscuit as phone was in the other room, then I realised I didn’t actually really need the biscuit and back it went! It was super effective for a while and along with MFP I lost about a stone, but then I started to follow other instagram account and got some followers back and felt pressure to make everything look pretty, which meant I stopped posting absolutely everything so started having random snacks again, and have now put back on a few pounds! I tried setting up a new private instagram but wasn’t really that motivated! So I’m starting again but instead hoping a mumsnet thread will help!? Anyone fancy joining?!

I’m for a calorie deficit of around 500 per day, so eating about 1750-2000 and burning 2250-2500 (i have a fitbit alta which estimates total calories burnt). I walk a lot (1.5-2 hours a day with dog plus i walk to work) but am going to try getting into running again too! Trying to not be too restrictive food-wise as I’m having problems overeating by quite a bit some days! (when I don’t track while eating and then add up after I can easily put away 4000 calories a day without realising Confused )
I’m currently about 9stone (havent checked for a bit so possibly more!) and aiming for about 8st4.
So yes, please do join and we can look at eachother’s non-instagram-able food! Halo

Ps. a tip I never knew about MFP which makes life sooo much easier, is you can click edit, and check all ingredients for a meal if you’re batch cooking for example, then do ‘save meal’! Saved sooo much time! But maybe everyone knew this already except from me Grin

Todays food for me:
Breakfast: banana bread muffin, microwaved with frozen berries, biscoff spread, 2 crumbled biscoff biscuits (fully recommended, tastes like berry crumble!), 200g greek yoghurt mixed with cinnamon, plus a small mocha ~ 508 cals
Lunch: chicken paella leftover ~ 410 cals
Snack at work: Almond bounce ball - 158 cals
Snack after work: mini hersheys bar plus 2 mini cinnamon biscuits - 78 cals
Dinner: Vegan burger with cheese, sweet pot fries and salad - 800 cals
Lots of tea with oat milk! - 44 cals
Total cals: ~ 1954

Hey everyone.

1lb loss this week really happy with that especially after my awful day and snacking. So thats 1st 1lb loss.

I tried a new pizza today that I found in lidl from the duluxe range and wow it's so so good only 473 per pizza, amazing.
Very random tea tonight but really enjoyed it. I'm neally at the end of my jar of biscoff. I said it would be my first and last jar but I might take what I said back and get another haha it's just too nice.

11:30am - apple, milky coffee.
3pm - buffalo chicken, cherry tomato and red onion sourdough pizza, fries and salad.
7pm - 2 toast (1 slice with biscoff other one with butter and cheese), a banana, peach pot, 4 slices of ham, bell pepper and sweet chilli dip for my pepper.

Drinks - 1 coffee, milky coffee, 600 ml squash, cup of tea, 600ml water.

Calories eaten - 1797
Calories burned - 2669
Calorie deficit - 872

@Friedbanana Thank you 🙂 Your food all looks lovely! 2000 is probably about right, or at least I hope so!! Cool estimation thanks. I have to say, knowing I had to write all my food down made me think twice about eating another snack.

Snack pre work out 7am: one and a half of those little scotch pancakes (100 calories)

Breakfast 11am: John West tuna, lime and black pepper salad (250)

Lunch 1pm: One veggie sausage & graze salt and pepper nuts (200), and carrot and butternut squash soup (250)

Snack 6pm: Four Oreos (200)

Dinner 8pm: Jamaican patty, rice, sweetcorn and broccoli (about 700)

Snack: Chocolate slice (100)

Drinks: Starbucks skinny latte (80), milky coffee (20), bottle of Pepsi max.

Total calories: 1900

I walked 5 miles which took an hour and a half, did a 20 minute HIIT routine and spend 1 hour gardening. My Google Fit says I burnt 1650 so far so I imagine it will be 2000 calories by the end of the day.

I managed to eat a 100 more calories than planned. Oh well try again tomorrow! I also forgot to take a picture of a few snacks and dinner but I'm sure I will pick up the habit...

Welcome @canipressthebackbuttonplease 👋🏽 you’re right this is a really supportive group.
Sorry I didn’t post yesterday, I ran out of time and ate quite a lot of treat foods in aid of Valentine’s Day!
Today’s food:
B: Smoothie + coffee with a spoonful of sweet freedom syrup
Snack: home made cheese straw
L: Leftover Chinese food
Snacks whilst watching a film with my daughter: 30g? Popcorn; 10g pretzels; 20g chocolate peanuts; packet of lentil curls; 2 squares of Cadbury Daim;
Dinner: Risotto with bacon, mushroom and spinach + small glass of Kopparberg cider + two sweets.
The cheese straw, the Chinese food, the Daim and the cider (!) were all leftovers from the weekend so now they’re out the way I'll hopefully eat better tomorrow!
Calories eaten: 1794, I’ll probably have a snack before bed so this may go up.
Calories burnt will be around 1800 by the end of the night.
Weigh in today: I’ve lost 0.5lb, so 9lb in total in the last 11 weeks 😊

Breakfast- None

Hi everyone,
Today’s food:
B: Porridge with blueberries, strawberries, nuts and 10g Clark’s maple syrup.
L: Home-made soup; 4x crackers; lentil curls; 1 square of Lindt;
Snack: 12g pretzels; Decaff mocha; 3x home made cheese straws with fig chutney (this little snackciddent was totally worth the calories, by the way 🤤)
D: Lasagne with sliced aubergine to substitute for some of the pasta and a white sauce made of creme fraiche and cream cheese to reduce the carbs + broccoli (it tasted nicer than it looks!)
I attempted a run today, I had to keep stopping though as it was so windy and wet, I decided to walk instead and then did a couple of YouTube videos when I got home- apparently Mr Motivator is still making work out videos?! Who knew?! Anyway I managed to do 10,500 steps - 500 of these were just doing jobs at home which surprised me.
Calories eaten: 1477 approx as I had to estimate for the lasagne,the soup and the cheese straws - this may go up a bit by the end of the evening
Calories burnt: So far 1800 but I think this will also increase by the end of the evening.

Today I walked about 4 miles in 1.5 hours and did a 20 minute HIIT routine. But here is what I ate:
Breakfast: Two little madeleine cakes (200), a vegan jackfruit 'sausage' roll (150) and 2 seeded crackers (100)
Lunch: Waitrose bakery pretzel (200), some lettuce, and coco pops with unsweetened almond milk (250)
Snack: thick slice of seeded bread (200), packet of mini cheddars (150), chocolate slice (100)
Dinner: new potatoes (200), pesto escalope (250), carrots and broccoli (100)
Drinks: Milky coffee (20), coconut milk mocha (80) and 7up zero.

I weighed a bit more than I'd like yesterday and ate 2000 calories today which is quite a bit more than planned. My Google fit says I've burnt 1847 calories so far.

At least my dinner was healthy, unfortunately I didn't get a picture. Everyone else's meals look so lovely! I need to reduce the processed stuff and give up the coffee drinks I think...

Well done @Sillybilly35 and @raspberrypickle with your losses!! @riotlady yes those mallow and marsh bars are the nicest things! I’ve only tried the salted caramel it was so good though, definitely didn’t feel like a low cal snack! I wish they were a bit cheaper!

@canipressthebackbuttonplease I also drink so many mochas, I don’t think I could give up! If you use almond milk and the healthier hot choc powders that tend to be stronger (eg green and blacks is lovely!!) you could make a mocha in milk frother or microwave for like 30 cals if it helps :) (milk frother uses only 100ml milk (13cals if almond) but like doubles the volume so it feels like a real amount ! My frothy coffee in this photo was only 30 cals!

Lots of photos today, sorry!! Really went for it for pancake day haha, one of my fave days 😋 again very gluttonous and I ate just over 3000 calories (estimated because of takeout breakfast) but I burnt the same amount as went on a 3.5 hour dog walk and also a run!

Breakfast- gingerbread mocha, then cafe takeout on walk- bao bun with hash brown, melted cheese, siracha, egg- this was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten haha, Wish you could buy bao buns in the supermarket id have one everyday!! Might get a kit to make them one day! Estimated 530 cals because the hash brown was quite oily
Snack- decaff mocha
Lunch- satay stir fry egg noodles
Snacks (should have just had a nice pastry again as had a lot more cals from these ‘healthier’ snacks!)- microwaved fibreone bar, biscoff, yoghurt. Microwaved cinnamon apple, biscoff, yoghurt, almond butter, goji berries. Few teaspoons biscoff and almond butter.
Dinner- cheese and smoked salmon pancake, paneer and pea stuffed pancake, fried banana pancake, marshmallow pancake- this one was the best!! And actually lowest in cals too- the mini marshmallows went sooo lovely and melted, will deff have this one again first choice next time!!

Hi everyone,
@Friedbanana your list of pancakes is hilarious, your commitment to the day is impressive!
Today’s food:
B: Porridge, same as yesterday
Snack: 1/2 banana; Nakd caramel bar; 1 cheese straw with fig chutney;
Lunch: Lamb leg steak and tempura onion rings in a tortilla wrap - I ate it too quickly to get a photo!
Snack: 1 square of Lindt; 2x mini eggs; lentil curls;
Dinner: 3x chicken chipolatas ; oven chips; peas;
Dessert: I blame you for this @Friedbanana ! 2x pancakes with Nutella, biscoff spread and strawberries- they were gooood!
I managed to do 10,000 steps today a combination of a walk with a friend, walking round a supermarket and a YouTube video at home.
Calories eaten: 1861 approx as I had to estimate for the pancakes.
Calories burnt will be around 2000 by the end of the night.

Good day today!

Breakfast- Berry and banana smoothie (looks massive but is just a banana and a handful of frozen berries whizzed up with water)
Lunch- Chicken miso noodle soup again
Snacks- Fibre brownie and a rice cake, plus a slice of cheese and a couple bits of salami while I was putting away the shopping
Dinner- Mexican breakfast tortilla. Corn tortilla, guacamole, black beans, homemade salsa, cheese and two fried eggs. Amazing.

@Friedbanana thanks for the suggestion, the frothy milk is a great idea :) I already have green & blacks so that could work really well. Also, your pancakes sound divine!

I walked 4 miles or so again today but no workout.
Today's food:

Breakfast: Sesame seed bagel with chocolate Philadelphia spread (400)
Lunch: Soya chicken salad sandwich on brown bread (300), a packet of mini cheddars (130) and a skinny Starbucks latte (70).
Snack: chocolate crepe (150), crackers (100), slice of seeded bread (150), a chocolate slice (100)
Dinner: vegetable lasagne with salad and a bread roll (600)
Total: about 2000

I've only burnt 1800 today, but at least I didn't exceed by a huge amount
