Hi! So during the first lockdown, i set up an instagram where I posted photos of every single thing that entered my mouth except from tea, and it really did discourage pointless snacking as I’d pop into the kitchen for a random biscuit but then I couldn’t be bothered to take a photo of biscuit as phone was in the other room, then I realised I didn’t actually really need the biscuit and back it went! It was super effective for a while and along with MFP I lost about a stone, but then I started to follow other instagram account and got some followers back and felt pressure to make everything look pretty, which meant I stopped posting absolutely everything so started having random snacks again, and have now put back on a few pounds! I tried setting up a new private instagram but wasn’t really that motivated! So I’m starting again but instead hoping a mumsnet thread will help!? Anyone fancy joining?!

I’m for a calorie deficit of around 500 per day, so eating about 1750-2000 and burning 2250-2500 (i have a fitbit alta which estimates total calories burnt). I walk a lot (1.5-2 hours a day with dog plus i walk to work) but am going to try getting into running again too! Trying to not be too restrictive food-wise as I’m having problems overeating by quite a bit some days! (when I don’t track while eating and then add up after I can easily put away 4000 calories a day without realising Confused )
I’m currently about 9stone (havent checked for a bit so possibly more!) and aiming for about 8st4.
So yes, please do join and we can look at eachother’s non-instagram-able food! Halo

Ps. a tip I never knew about MFP which makes life sooo much easier, is you can click edit, and check all ingredients for a meal if you’re batch cooking for example, then do ‘save meal’! Saved sooo much time! But maybe everyone knew this already except from me Grin

Todays food for me:
Breakfast: banana bread muffin, microwaved with frozen berries, biscoff spread, 2 crumbled biscoff biscuits (fully recommended, tastes like berry crumble!), 200g greek yoghurt mixed with cinnamon, plus a small mocha ~ 508 cals
Lunch: chicken paella leftover ~ 410 cals
Snack at work: Almond bounce ball - 158 cals
Snack after work: mini hersheys bar plus 2 mini cinnamon biscuits - 78 cals
Dinner: Vegan burger with cheese, sweet pot fries and salad - 800 cals
Lots of tea with oat milk! - 44 cals
Total cals: ~ 1954

Lunch same as always Frittata and prawn salad but dinner was Korean BBQ skewers with spinach and jasmine rice

Tea was spicy chicken wraps & oven fries,I was going to have 1 but my eyes got the better off me so had 2 but stuffed it with salad I'm full up now tho, Thats my problem one never know when to stop!

I keep forgetting to take photos of things! Tomorrow I’m going to try and take a photo of every single thing I eat

Lunch- Chicken and sweet corn soup and a slice of wholemeal toast
Dinner- Rice and quinoa, roasted pepper, falafel and homemade tzatziki
Snacks- Fibre brownie, Pom bears, carrot sticks and hummus

Well done @Sillybilly35 that’s so good!
Today’s food:
B: Smoothie + mocha
L: Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, 3x mini hash browns + 1 spare chicken frankfurter from my daughter’s plate
Snack: 10g (?) pop chips; hot chocolate with 10g mini marshmallows
Dinner: Lamb leg steak; salad; feta; tomato and mozzarella garlic flatbread
Snack: 20g Lindt
Calories eaten will be around 1700 by the end of the evening, I’ll have burnt around 2100.
I’m pleased with my step count today, I’ve managed to get up to 12,200 mainly from doing YouTube videos! We ventured out for a walk but it was freezing so we didn't stay out for long.
I’ve lost just over half a pound this week so that’s 8.3lbs in total since the end of November Grin

I had zero appetite earlier as was feeling v anxious (normally anxiety leads to me eating loads as a distraction/comfort but it seemed to have the opposite effect today), so i just had lots of nice coffees/decaff coffees with nice syrups in (an order of monin white chocolate syrup came today which i can confirm is beautiful and tastes similar to when i add 10g grated white choc into my drink, but only 16cal for a teaspoon :) ) then 35g lindt and a stuffed date to keep me going through work, then I felt better by dinner where I had a tuna flatbread with salad and feta :) hopefully will get back into proper eating tomorrow! I did add up everything including coffees just out of interest and still managed to eat 1060 cals ish so not ridiculously low but way lower than a normal day for me, burnt about 2150

also last night after posting on here I went to have my like 20th snack of the day, a couple teaspoons biscoff spread, and then just suddenly had the urge to do a run, so I went out and did my normal 5k run, then at the end I felt like I could do more so did the whole route again! it’s the first time i’ve ran 10k in about 6 months and i surprisingly I didn’t feel dead afterwards (except my feet have got blisters as my running shoes don’t fit properly as they were bought in last lockdown so I couldn’t properly try them, and they really punish me if i do anything over 6k :(.. ) So anyway, i think more research should be carried out regarding the effect biscoff eating has on exercise.. i’m willing to do my part in the research

Wow @Friedbanana I can't imagine just running 10k spontaneously, I'm impressed! That's so funny that you mention Biscoff research- I was recently following a thread which went on for days and days and then the OP turned out to be a troll apparently.. anyway it made me start to wonder about other threads, then I was like 'what if Fried Banana is a Biscoff troll?!' What if we're all just part of a psychological study to find out the impact of Biscoff on weight loss?! 🤯 anyway if you are I don't mind as I'm losing weight and enjoying eating Biscoff! 🤪

hahahaha i promise i’m not a troll! but yes i prob should stop going on about biscoff, as that’s perhaps what i look like 😅 maybe i need to find a new sugar obsession 🤪 i did hear morrisons do a white choc and hazelnut spread which tastes like the inside of a kinder bueno!

Good job on the weight loss @raspberrypickle! And well done for your 10k @Friedbanana, I reckon it was definitely the biscoff that did it!

Don’t judge me but the first thing I ate this morning was snow with maple syrup on it xD I remember reading about it books like Little House on the Prairie when I was a kid and always wanted to try it, it was pretty good!

My day so far had a banana when woke up, had a shake about 11 and yogurt and fruit about 2. Making a cottage pie for tea, cannot wait!
