Hi! So during the first lockdown, i set up an instagram where I posted photos of every single thing that entered my mouth except from tea, and it really did discourage pointless snacking as I’d pop into the kitchen for a random biscuit but then I couldn’t be bothered to take a photo of biscuit as phone was in the other room, then I realised I didn’t actually really need the biscuit and back it went! It was super effective for a while and along with MFP I lost about a stone, but then I started to follow other instagram account and got some followers back and felt pressure to make everything look pretty, which meant I stopped posting absolutely everything so started having random snacks again, and have now put back on a few pounds! I tried setting up a new private instagram but wasn’t really that motivated! So I’m starting again but instead hoping a mumsnet thread will help!? Anyone fancy joining?!

I’m for a calorie deficit of around 500 per day, so eating about 1750-2000 and burning 2250-2500 (i have a fitbit alta which estimates total calories burnt). I walk a lot (1.5-2 hours a day with dog plus i walk to work) but am going to try getting into running again too! Trying to not be too restrictive food-wise as I’m having problems overeating by quite a bit some days! (when I don’t track while eating and then add up after I can easily put away 4000 calories a day without realising Confused )
I’m currently about 9stone (havent checked for a bit so possibly more!) and aiming for about 8st4.
So yes, please do join and we can look at eachother’s non-instagram-able food! Halo

Ps. a tip I never knew about MFP which makes life sooo much easier, is you can click edit, and check all ingredients for a meal if you’re batch cooking for example, then do ‘save meal’! Saved sooo much time! But maybe everyone knew this already except from me Grin

Todays food for me:
Breakfast: banana bread muffin, microwaved with frozen berries, biscoff spread, 2 crumbled biscoff biscuits (fully recommended, tastes like berry crumble!), 200g greek yoghurt mixed with cinnamon, plus a small mocha ~ 508 cals
Lunch: chicken paella leftover ~ 410 cals
Snack at work: Almond bounce ball - 158 cals
Snack after work: mini hersheys bar plus 2 mini cinnamon biscuits - 78 cals
Dinner: Vegan burger with cheese, sweet pot fries and salad - 800 cals
Lots of tea with oat milk! - 44 cals
Total cals: ~ 1954

Just updating as I was craving a few snacks while watching a film tonight so had a few snacks :) the decaff latte i planned, plus 35g chocolate orange popcorn, almond milk with sweet freedom choc shot, 5g goji berries and 9g lindt :)
New cal total: 2070
Burnt 2500 and 20500 steps so deficit of 430 cals :)

I lost 0.4 kg this week. Bit disappointed but at least it's still going in the right direction. Starting weight 140 kg, current weight 114.5 kg.

Oooh I might have to try this banana ice cream! I don’t have a blender but my smoothie maker handles frozen raspberries ok so might just use that?

Anyway forgot to post yesterday

Breakfast - raspberry abs banana smoothie (no pic as drank it during zoom calls)
Lunch- halloumi, roasted pepper, cucumber and avocado sandwich with sweet potato fries
Snack- carrot sticks and hummus
Dinner- vegan spinach sausages (they were horrible lol don’t recommend) brown rice a d tzatziki

Hi everyone,
Well done @FatCatThinCat on the weight loss, I’m going to buy some bananas and try that recipe today!
Yesterday’s food:
B:smoothie with strawberries and raspberries and other usual ingredients
2x hash brown waffles
L: same as day before, wrap with small portion of quinoa chips and small portion of pop chips, eaten in the car before our walk.
Snack: 30g Lindt
D: Chicken lasagne - I replaced some of the pasta with sliced aubergine and made the sauce with creme fraiche and cream cheese plus various vegetables to reduce the carbs a bit, it worked quite well- I didn’t eat all of this but it looked nicer in the dish!
Dessert: half mini pot of Haagen Daz (42g); Greek yoghurt; 5g caramel drizzle; 10g nuts; 10g dark choc chips.
Calories eaten: 1716 - approx as I had to estimate for the lasagne.
Calories burnt: 1706
Evening snack: small fromage frais; cup of milk (skimmed and almond)

Managed to complete C25k w7r2 today which I’m pleased about!

T - crispy chicken strips with salad mayo and sweet chilli. 925 cals forgot to take a photo.
S- 2 sweets. 22 cals

Drinks - 2 coffees, 900 ml squash, cup of tea. 92 cals

Calories eaten - 1511
Calories burned - 2886
Calorie deficit - 1375

I wasn't on the ball yesterday. I ate well but wasn't organised enough to take pics. Not helped by the fact I'm a shit parent who allows DS to play on my phone most of the day. Grin But I had:

Breakfast: overnigh oats with raspberry and lemon

Mid morning: nothing as breakfast was very late

Lunch: balsamic chicken and mash (no picture)

Mid afternoon: banana icecream, caramilised apple and biscoff

Dinner: baked potato with tuna, cottage cheese, spring onions, cherry tomatoes and capers (no picture)

Late snack: toast with ginger jam (no picture)

I’m a day behind again, this was yesterday’s!

Breakfast- apple and cinnamon, yoghurt and granola
Lunch- Roast dinner! Chicken, yorkshires, roasties, cabbage and green beans. I may have gone back for seconds...
Snacks- Slice of garlic bread, fibre brownie, slice of wholemeal toast
Dinner- Bagel with avocado smash and scrambled eggs

Hello today iv had my favourite peanut butter on toast and a mahoosive chicken dinner! Burnt calories 2450 as I dragged everyone out for a beach walk and eaten 1900. Lost 3lbs last week Smile

Hello! hope everyone is well :) had a bit of a weekend off tracking/taking photos, looking forward to getting back into routine again tomorrow as feeling a bit off! Well done everyone for the losses this week! I had lost a pound this week according to this morning’s weigh in, but think probably in a surplus today so will offset it but I’ll have a good week next week i think!

Yesterday did confirm i still am unable to bake and only eat one thing! made the chickpea blondies i mentioned earlier in thread (the recipe says makes 16 but i cut into 9.. then ate 3.5... luckily pretty healthy but still amounted to about 700 cals 🤪)

Well done @Smile3 on your loss!
I didn’t get around to posting yesterday’s food but I ate 1418 calories and burnt 1907.

Today’s food:
Breakfast: 2x cinnamon swirls, mocha
Snack: pop chips 20g
Lunch: Roast chicken, vegetables, stuffing, potatoes
Snack: 3 squares of Lindt, 5x mini eggs
Dessert: Banana ‘Ice cream’, cooked apple, biscoff, 10g carnation caramel, 1x crumbled biscoff biscuit, nuts, dark choc chips.

  • 200ml skimmed milk Not a very healthy or active day - it was freezing cold here today so I didn't feel like going out- but I seem to be in a pattern where I have a day (or two!) like this per week but it hasn’t led to a weight increase so far so I think it’s ok. Calories eaten:1634 Calories burnt: Will be around 1400 by the end of the evening. Hope you’ve all had nice weekends!

Afternoon, slow day here. Children are driving me bonkers but anyway here what iv had up to now. Fruit and yogurt for breakfast, chicken salad for lunch and just had a nougut snack.
