Hi! So during the first lockdown, i set up an instagram where I posted photos of every single thing that entered my mouth except from tea, and it really did discourage pointless snacking as I’d pop into the kitchen for a random biscuit but then I couldn’t be bothered to take a photo of biscuit as phone was in the other room, then I realised I didn’t actually really need the biscuit and back it went! It was super effective for a while and along with MFP I lost about a stone, but then I started to follow other instagram account and got some followers back and felt pressure to make everything look pretty, which meant I stopped posting absolutely everything so started having random snacks again, and have now put back on a few pounds! I tried setting up a new private instagram but wasn’t really that motivated! So I’m starting again but instead hoping a mumsnet thread will help!? Anyone fancy joining?!

I’m for a calorie deficit of around 500 per day, so eating about 1750-2000 and burning 2250-2500 (i have a fitbit alta which estimates total calories burnt). I walk a lot (1.5-2 hours a day with dog plus i walk to work) but am going to try getting into running again too! Trying to not be too restrictive food-wise as I’m having problems overeating by quite a bit some days! (when I don’t track while eating and then add up after I can easily put away 4000 calories a day without realising Confused )
I’m currently about 9stone (havent checked for a bit so possibly more!) and aiming for about 8st4.
So yes, please do join and we can look at eachother’s non-instagram-able food! Halo

Ps. a tip I never knew about MFP which makes life sooo much easier, is you can click edit, and check all ingredients for a meal if you’re batch cooking for example, then do ‘save meal’! Saved sooo much time! But maybe everyone knew this already except from me Grin

Todays food for me:
Breakfast: banana bread muffin, microwaved with frozen berries, biscoff spread, 2 crumbled biscoff biscuits (fully recommended, tastes like berry crumble!), 200g greek yoghurt mixed with cinnamon, plus a small mocha ~ 508 cals
Lunch: chicken paella leftover ~ 410 cals
Snack at work: Almond bounce ball - 158 cals
Snack after work: mini hersheys bar plus 2 mini cinnamon biscuits - 78 cals
Dinner: Vegan burger with cheese, sweet pot fries and salad - 800 cals
Lots of tea with oat milk! - 44 cals
Total cals: ~ 1954

I had:

Breakfast: chocolate and raspberry chia pudding.

Mid morning: banana and coffee.

Lunch: sourdough roll with steak and pickled red onion.

Mid afternoon: homemade melon and vanilla yogurt

Dinner: balsamic chicken and mash. It's one of my favourites and tastes way better than it looks.

After dinner: 1 mint

I'm doing weightwatchers so don't know the calorie content as all these meals are on their daily menu cards which I use.

Hello still feeling bit rough I ended up ordering chicken wrap and some chips for my tea last night...For breakfast I put loads of fruit in my smoothie machine and had that thought my body might need it had a brew and bikkies for a snack and slummed it with a pot noodle, For tea I made a chicken tikka curry which used green beans in the recipe had 3 of the 5 a day in so I was impressed...I'm off to bed now dh can sort the children I'm done in.

Hey everyone, Hope you are all well. Felt really hungry today so had more calories than I normally would do. I had a massive portion for my tea! I was just going to have one burger but then got really greedy.

D - toast, fried egg and chopped tomatos. 538 cals
T - cheese burgers, chips and salad. 1207 cals
S - slice of toast with biscoff, random half of a potato waffle (no photo). 345 cals

Drinks - 1 Coffee, 1 beanies coffee, 900 ml squash, 300ml water. 59 cals

Calories eaten - 2149
Calories burned - 2928
Calorie deficit - 779

Breakfast- apple, yoghurt and granola
Lunch- brown rice, broccoli and salmon with a honey and soy dressing
Dinner- sausages, Yorkshires, carrot and swede mash and leeks
Dessert- Chocolate pudding with ice cream
Second dessert (whoops): another scoop of ice cream with chocolate sauce

Hi everyone,
Hope you’re all well. I attempted a run today but I wasn’t really in the right frame of mind and it was so windy that it turned into more of a walk, I managed to do 12,000 steps.
Breakfast: banana and small mocha
Lunch: 2 slices of bacon, 150g beans, 3x hash brown waffles
Snack: 2 squares of Lindt; 40g popcorn (approx); lentil curls;
Dinner: Sausage casserole with small portion of rice, forgot to take a photo!
Dessert: Cooked apple with a bit of cinnamon with Greek yoghurt, 10g biscoff, 10g dark chocolate chips; and mixed nuts;
Calories eaten: 1731
Calories burnt: 2100 (approx)
This will probably change as I still feel quite hungry so I’ll probably have a snack before bed.

Hi everyone! @raspberrypickle well done for getting out! @Smile3 hope you enjoyed your takeaway and feel better soon!! Curry sounds lovely!

I had another ridiculously high sugar/calorie day yesterday- ate a whole tub of marshmallow fluff among loads of random snacks, think i ate over 3000 cals and burnt just over 2000 so not brilliant, but i did at least have 3 healthy meals so managed to get veg and protein in. hopefully it’s out my system and I’ll have a more productive weekend! I think it’s when i’m not busy enough maybe.. but really no excuse haha (always trying to find an excuse /something to blame other than myself 😂) Anyway, not bloated today thankfully and scales haven’t gone up luckily, so i’m just going to try be more accountable on my bad days too, make sure i literally take photos of everything to post on here, even if i have like 10 individual spoons of biscoff! (which hopefully i won’t as I’ll be put off by having to take a photo) (sorry i’ve said this like 10000 times but this time for real 😂)

Started today with a nice coffee- 41 cals

Omg I got DP to buy me some Biscoff spread, inspired by you guys, since I’ve never tried it before. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?? xD It is one of the single best things I’ve ever eaten and I’m struggling not to eat the whole jar

Very open to suggestions as to what to do with it because so far I’ve just been eating it from the jar

haha @riotlady 😂😂 it’s amazing microwaved for like 30-60 seconds or until it melts, it then goes further if you’re drizzling over stuff!

Had a big nourishing lunch, vegan sausage, egg and cheese bagel, about 340g roast sweet potato (these two plates plus a little out the tub) and salad, it was quite high calorie all together, 1100 ish but i’m really full and should see me till dinner (which will be vegan chilli and brown rice!)

oh Also- i sometimes put a blob of biscoff in my bakes (like banana bread or anything) and it just makes them a million times nicer! I sometimes make healthy banana bread muffins and just the 5g biscoff in middle is just amazing

@Sillybilly35 Yep, it's going on the "no buy" list, alongside nutella and crunchy nut clusters, neither of which I can control myself around xD I melted some and drizzled it on ice cream earlier and nearly died of happiness.

Oo @FatCatThinCat so jealous you live in Sweden! (although limited options of biscoff spread suppliers is a sticking point!) personally i’d go for the 3.5kg jar 😂 but i already feel like the friend who bought drugs to the party and got everyone hooked so i will shut up 😂

I am sooo full after dinner as it was vegan chilli and i can’t deal with spicy food very well so drank like 3 pints of water while eating 🥴 was very nice though, jamie oliver recipe which uses roast sweet potatoes! Had it with greek yoghurt, brown rice and salad! About 690 cals, so i’ve eaten around 1875 cals today, and no snacks yay :) I may or may not go on a run later so not sure how much i’ll have burnt but I’m happy to be in a deficit and had a fairly low sugar day (as yesterday i had almost 200g sugar 🥴🥴🥴)

I didn't update yesterday because I fell asleep on the sofa at about 7.30. I've been sooo tired. I've also had a couple of really hungry days (I think I'm due on) I had loads to eat yesterday, stupid stuff like finishing off DD's leftovers which I don't even enjoy I just ate because it was there.
Had a slightly better day today.
B - none, wanted to get to work early
Dinner - Baxter's chicken broth soup.
Tea - mindful chef Tempeh and kimich fried rice - vegan and sooo delicious!
Snacks - hot chocolate, cream and marshmallows, sweetclem, plum, popcorn
Drinks - 3 coffees, 1 cordial, lots of peppermint tea and water.
Calories eaten - 1239 (might have supper later with the spare calories) calories used/burned so far today -2437. So hopefully have a decent deficit to offset yesterday.
Forgot to take any pictures so here's a picture of the mindful chef recipe!

went for a dog walk instead of a run so will finish today on about 2600, and have eaten about 1975 as I had a small chai latte and 11g lindt, so deficit of 625cals

This thread is amazing! So interesting to see what everyone's eating!

OP I hope you don't mind me asking (and apologies if I've missed this as I've only skim read) but have you lost/gained weight since starting this thread?

I'm not suggesting you should lose any, it sounds like you were very slim already and it's been Christmas and lockdown which makes it so hard to be healthy. I'm just very interested to know whether to follow in your food footsteps!

How many steps do you average a day @Friedbanana? At the moment mine is 16,999 a day but I want to up a bit really. I need to start going out for runs again but my sports bra is tooo small and I cannot run without one!

I think about 20000 steps a day average :) today did 25000, but didn’t run!
That’s ok @newname2021 :) I was 9st 0.4 when i started this thread i think (had already lost a stone) and was 8st11.6 today so have only lost about 3lb since starting this thread, but yes Christmas/new year off set me a bit and i was 9st 0.4 also on new years day! And I normally put on quite a lot of weight during the winter months so not putting too much pressure on myself! Just need to get rid of the overeating days which offset my progress :) So just don’t follow in my overeating days and you’ll be fine haha!
