Here's our new thread.. 9st0.75 this morning, had some pub tapas last night and a couple of pints, was truly delicious. Will be having a couple of days when I'm away, going to my Sister's for a couple of days either today or tomorrow. I'm sure nobody can guess what my aim is for this month lol

How long have you been doing it @Lalanbaba? The beginning bit might be harder as your stomach is in the process of shrinking? Or maybe you're too active for only 1200?

HoneysuckIejasmine · 07/08/2020 22:01

Hi Zebra, I remember you from the 100+ thread. Welcome back to the wagon.

I'm finding 1200 relatively easy. I tend to have eggs for breakfast which is about 200 cals, 300-400 for lunch (soup, salad, leftovers) and about the same for dinner. Then a snack mid afternoon which is usually about 100 cals.

Don't get me wrong, I really want to eat more. But I am not hungry, I just want to eat.

Lalanbaba · 07/08/2020 22:06

Definitely not too active right now. I used to work in a very physical job but now furloughed which explains the weight gain.
Started counting calories and taking it seriously almost 2 weeks ago.
Used a couple of places to calculate how many calories should I have and everywhere I got around 1300 but I have upped them cos I don't seem to be able to put enough food on the plate without being famished. Those 200 cal give me a snack that helps.

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 07/08/2020 22:37

Evening all
@Lalanbaba I can't do 1200 either, you probably need more.
Today has been lots of picnic type bits and 3 ice lollies, I think coming to about 1600
B. 1 piece toast and marmalade, coffee
L. Quorn picnic eggs, hummous, carrots iced coffee
D. Satay chicken pieces, strawberries, carrots, hummous, 2 nanny state beers, left over blackberry crumble
S. 3 fruit pastile ice lollies

roundtwotooto · 07/08/2020 22:40

@TheHoneyBadger your 20.14 post inspired me to get out for a walk so thank you for that. Five miles (well 4.99 according to my Garmin) done.

I’m going to try and get out every day for a decent length walk because even if that’s the only exercise I do surely it will help.

roundtwotooto · 07/08/2020 22:43

Am I a ridiculously slow walker? An hour and 43 mins to walk 5 miles seems slooooow.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 07/08/2020 22:46

Sooo very hot here! I'm painting two ceilings tonight and I'm wringing wet I'm that hot and bothered.

This afternoon I had the pleasure of the least classy funeral wake of all time. A drinking game was played.
I was told I had 'nice tits'. 😯

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 08/08/2020 05:34

Crikey @DrMadelineMaxwell !!

I spent the whole day sorting shopping and packing for our road trip and ate leftovers for both meals...

Hangoverstruggles · 08/08/2020 07:05

Morning! 10st and 0.25 this morning so my upswing yesterday was a fluctuation as I thought.

Does anyone have the Renpho body fat scale? I really fancy getting it but not sure. I wish I'd started my loss with it so I could see progress. Would to be able to track changes in body fat even if the overall weight number doesn't change!

Today I'm planning big chicken salad for lunch and the miso salmon for dinner with veggie risotto. Those meals come to 1000 so gives me room for snacks / ice cream!

Well done to those remaining active during this hot weather! I'm haven't exercised, planning to do an early morning run or work out tomorrow.

Happy weekend Smile

Depends really. Was it on the flat or up a hill? It takes me about 50 mins to walk 5km, 3.1 miles, going at a decent pace on the flat. But took 2 hours to do 5.5 miles around the countryside.

Either way, you had a nice long walk and that's what is important.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 08/08/2020 07:47

@DrMadelineMaxwell - Blimey you are doing well to be painting ceilings (the worst things to paint ever) in this heat! I have painting my garden fence on my list, i've currently done one half of the fence, one coat Blush

@hangoverstruggles well done for not panicking about the small upswing.

I'm going to in laws for dinner today and am planning on doing a 15 mile walk in the gorgeous weather.

Have a lovely weekend everyone Smile

Random comment but did you know that sunburn causes water retention? Someone on a fb group i'm on got sunburned then noticed their weight increased as a result Confused. Wear sunscreen.

Octopus37 · 08/08/2020 08:41

That's interesting about the sunburn, only got burnt a bit on my legs though, did use sunscreen but obviously not enough. Dr Madeline, sorry that made my laugh, sorry you had to go to a funeral though. Hope everyone enjoys the hot weather today. Off to do some work unfortunately, but off to a BBQ later this afternoon.

@HoneysuckIejasmine hey! I remember you too! I am so annoyed with myself putting some weight back on but I just keep thinking of how far I've come. Definitely back on the wagon now.

Another day off with the kids today. Weather looks good so will try and do a bike ride.

Food today will be
Ham cheese and pickle sandwich for lunch.
Tomato and chilli pasta for dinner. Not the healthiest in terms of fruit/veg but these are the 2 things I have been thinking about all week and decided that since it's Saturday I will have them. Still within cals though. Should leave around 200 for after dinner which will be some dried fruit /nuts. I find planning food the night before helps alot as it takes the choice away.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 08/08/2020 09:15

That's exactly my thinking too zebra. The point is that you caught it before it got out of hand, and now you're on the way back down.

TheHoneyBadger · 08/08/2020 09:18

Walking is great exercise and you can build up pace gradually if you want to. Some days I’m up for stomping some days just a stroll.

Got 12000 steps in yesterday which is good for me and allegedly used close to 2600cals which is high for me.

Apparently my weight is virtually back down to my lowest today but I’ll believe it when it sticks. August has been crazy fluctuations land so far.

AF due any day.

Family garden meal this afternoon. Will fast till then and walk there and back to try to do damage limitation. My mum does hourly walking round the garden like a loon so I’ll join her in her laps. I did a lot of walking round in circles in the house yesterday because it was too hot outside till evening. The dog gets very confused Grin

Lalanbaba · 08/08/2020 10:58

Morning!
Chill out day here, I have to do some gardening and hopefully will be able to study a bit when my little one goes for her nap.
I already have prepared the meat for the barbecue later on, just need to decide what will have for dinner coz with this heat I don't want to cook a lot.
Keep up ladies!
B: fat free Greek yoghurt and blueberries. Half a bagel and tea
L: bbq lamb chops and mushrooms with big salad
D: tbc but around 400 cal. Suggestions?
S: watermelon

Heygirlheyboy · 08/08/2020 12:02

Sounds like some lovely days ahead. I had a no limit day of burritos and beer yesterday. Back on it today!

SnowyMouse · 08/08/2020 12:13

I've lost 19 lbs now, since lockdown. Had a plateau for a week. How's everyone doing in this heat?

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 08/08/2020 12:29

Sweating my face off here on London and off to the tower today. Will be a lunch out so damage limitation for calories really and then something sensible for tea.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 08/08/2020 12:32

Loving it.I could spend all day outside in the sunshine. I live in the wrong country for 9 months of the year Grin

TheHoneyBadger · 08/08/2020 13:13

Also very sweaty faced Grin

Just been reviewing all my data on my scales app. Obviously don’t know how accurate they really are but what is reassuring is:

My visceral fat is really not far out of the good range
My muscle mass similarly is only just out of normal range for my age and sex
Skeletal muscle is normal and bone mass good.

Basically I just have a shit to not of subcutaneous fat to lose Grin At least that’s the less dangerous sort of fat

TheHoneyBadger · 08/08/2020 13:15

*shit ton of

DrMadelineMaxwell · 08/08/2020 13:27

I wish I'd started this at the beginning of lockdown! Instead I picked on 10lb.

I lost 4lb before starting on the thread and have lost another 5 in the last few weeks. With all my activity (decorating) which wears me out AND keeps me out of the kitchen I'm hoping to keep.losing this week without being too disciplined about it.

Challenges ahead though. Afternoon tea *(unch and dinner that.day) on Tues so aiming to be really good till.then and see what I've lost this week officially on mondays WI day.

roundtwotooto · 08/08/2020 14:38

You’re all doing so well!

19lbs in lockdown is just fantastic.

So far today for me:

B 3 boiled eggs
L 2 slices of pizza and 3 pieces of garlic baguette
S magnum Blush

No idea what we will have for dinner. It’s a thought every night trying to come up with something.

Four miles walked with the kids. It is so warm here today.
