Here's our new thread.. 9st0.75 this morning, had some pub tapas last night and a couple of pints, was truly delicious. Will be having a couple of days when I'm away, going to my Sister's for a couple of days either today or tomorrow. I'm sure nobody can guess what my aim is for this month lol

Honeysuckle that would send me over the edge!

DrMadelineMaxwell · 06/08/2020 23:23

Well.....bollocks.

I've definitely had plenty of exercise today! I managed to fall backwards off a (low) stool while holding a half full tin of emulsion, which went EVERYWHERE. Much scrubbing of the dining room table, chairs and piano. And many, many, many passes over of the carpet washer and things are looking ok - but I'm knackered now!

HoneysuckIejasmine · 06/08/2020 23:27

@Heygirlheyboy

Honeysuckle that would send me over the edge!
I very nearly cried.

DrM omg, that would definitely make me cry. Huge sympathy to you.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 07/08/2020 00:11

Diolch. I nearly cried, yes. Swore lots instead.

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 07/08/2020 03:04

DrM count it as a workout I suppose?!

Did ok today but am raging and it’s very hard not to crack open a beer or something stronger!

Octopus37 · 07/08/2020 07:47

Honeysuckle, I would have been gutted too. Went to Bognor for the day yesterday, luckily it wasn't too busy, had a Wetherspoons curry meal deal with two pints of cider so feel totally bloated and a bit yuk today. Also period which doesn't help, feel as though my stomach will explode.. 9st2.25 this morning, Hope everyone enjoys the hot weather today.

Morning all,

Sorry to hear of recipe disasters and paint explosions! What a pain in the arse!

@Octopus37 I'm sure the bloated feeling will settle down. Hope you enjoyed your day out.

I'm 10st 2 today. Feel heavy and like I'm holding on to stuff if that makes sense? Not drinking enough water for sure. I'm not too worried diet wise. I know I haven't eaten 7000 cals over my tdee to gain 2 lb so it can't be fat!

Off out this morning with my little ones to the seaside for a couple hours then home to shelter from the sun. Due to be hot hot hot today! Not planning any exercise today.

Have a lovely day all.

alwaysinpjs · 07/08/2020 08:38

9st 5 here - yay!
@Hangoverstruggles I totally get what you mean. There are some days I wake up and just know I'm heavier even if I've dieted successfully.
I've walks the dog before it gets hot and need to do 30DS this morning too. Today is the first day I'm able to walk properly. Hope it's worth it. I'm feeling pretty good about my weight but really need to tone still.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 07/08/2020 09:04

May I recommend mint tea for bloating? It's great. I need to drink. more. water as well. Have fun in the nice weather today gals.

Nice one @alwaysinpjs!

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 07/08/2020 10:02

Oh man, @DrMadelineMaxwell that's sitcom worthy.
Feel your pain @HoneysuckIejasmine there's something about planned food when you're dieting that gives a real insight into the mind of the toddler who only wants her carrots in rounds!
Had a disappointing weigh in this morning. Very slight gain of 0.1lb when I was hoping for a loss. I think it might be me guessing on calories for a few things and guessing too optimistically. Period is just arriving too and I feel quite flobery with that.
Anyway, onwards!

HoneysuckIejasmine · 07/08/2020 10:09

DD has a friend coming to play today. I've never met the Mum so I'm nervous too Confused DD very excited though. Will set stuff out in the garden but also thinking about stuff they can do indoors just in case. DD isn't a hot weather fan - neither am I.

B mushroom omelette
L pasta leftovers
D spag bol I think, need to check the meal plan.

Lalanbaba · 07/08/2020 10:37

Morning!
Very hot here already. I alre did the weekly shopping to avoid the hottest time of the day.
I went to Aldi and got ice cream, the white chocolate and raspberry one 350 cal for the whole tub and the salted caramel one at 320 cal for the whole tub.
I have not tried them yet but I will report back. They also had a cookie dough one but I have never been fan of those.
Lots of bbq food planned for the weekend but I got veggies and leaner options for myself so not going to be tempted by the burgers and hotdogs.
B: bread and cured beef also tea
L: salad and grilled chicken with lime and garlic dressing
D: courgette, tomatoes and feta omelette. Watermelon or mango after
S: ice cream

TheHoneyBadger · 07/08/2020 13:10

Hi. Roasting here too! Some easy on the eye guys are meant to be coming to sort a couple of gardening jobs for me today so might get some topless eye candy Grin

I’m rubbish with food this week. I have a bit of a temperature. Not as high as the test for covid level but a degree higher than is usual for me and I’ve felt tired and achy the last couple of days so maybe a low level bug rather than just pmt as I thought. Dunno if that would explain unusual hunger but I’ll take any excuse.

Trying to stay active and get my steps up today despite sweatiness. Must drink lots of water.

Going to prepare some oats in the vague hope I can fast all day then fill up on those but we’ll see. Worst week I’ve had in a while diet wise but will pull it back round

zebrarobot · 07/08/2020 13:58

Hi everyone, hope its okay to join in. It sounds like you are all doing great and I'm in need of some motivation.

A little background - i'm 28 and 5 foot 6. I started a weight loss journey with MFP in Jan 19 at 20st 7lbs. By the beginning of Dec 19 I was 13st 4lbs. (DH also did the same and lost similar). We have 3 family birthday's in December as well as the usual festivities so decided to have December "off" but not go mad with it. Fast forward to first week in Jan I was 13st 11lbs. Not too bad considering. Back on plan. We struggled to really get back into it and would look for excuses to go off plan or "celebrate". We plodded along gaining and losing same few pounds and then lockdown hit and it spiralled from there. Again we repeatedly had good intentions of starting again but would give in after a few days and order pizza etc. Anyway I have officially started again on August 2nd and weighed in at 14st 9lbs. I've put myself to 1200 cals on mfp for now to really kickstart the loss again because once I see the figures go down I will be much more motivated. I've also decided to do intermittent fasting, something I dabbled with end of last year more for health benefits rather than weight loss.

So since Sunday I've been have lunch around 3, dinner at 6 and a small snack at 8. Eating no later than 9 so a 18:6 fast. Weighing in on Sunday.

I'm sat on the sofa just now and could feel myself thinking Oh I could just have...
So I have joined this thread to stop myself.
I am struggling today as it is my day off work. I work from home Sunday - Thurs from 8.30-2.30 so fasting until 3 is easily done. Today im off with the kids and struggling a little more.
Last year we really enjoyed having a cheat day once a month so that's the plan again. Also I'm aware 1200cal is pretty low and am fully prepared if I really needed it to go up to 1400 which is still a deficit. So far I have stuck to around 1200 and feeling ok.

Again, hope its okay to join. I was on the lose 100lb+ thread last year which was so helpful.
Sorry this post is a novel Blush

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 07/08/2020 15:06

Hi @zebrarobot, welcome!

TheHoneyBadger · 07/08/2020 15:11

Welcome zebra. Awesome weight loss last year! I’m sure you can get back on track now your heads back in the game. My tip is get up and go for a walk when temptation strikes. Good reminder for me to take my own advice lol

zebrarobot · 07/08/2020 15:29

Thanks for the welcome Grin

I usually down a glass of water when I feel 'hungry' and within 10 minutes I'm fine. If not then a hot drink usually does it. Either a normal or decaf coffee (depends on time of day), fruit tea or a peppermint tea will curb a craving.

I've just broken my fast with a tin of vegetable soup and a cheese salad roll. That was 378cals.
Dinner is mixed bean quaesedillas with roasted carrot 'chips' and green beans. 565cal.

Anything left later will go towards an apple and peanut butter in the evening. Should come in around 1200ish for today

roundtwotooto · 07/08/2020 17:08

Hi all can I join you please?

I was so motivated at the beginning of lockdown (may have been on a thread with you all) but totally lost it and now I’m back to ‘I’ll start on Monday’ ... every single week.

I’m getting married later in the year so really just want another stone off for that. I’m so upset with myself, I was eating well and doing loads of exercise, felt so positive and was really starting to see changes in my body but now I’m just so flabby again since stopping the exercise.

Our house is completely upside down at the moment so there’s not even an area I can do my YouTube workouts so I feel like that’s against me :(

MonsteraCheeseplant · 07/08/2020 19:13

Welcome newbies!

I've had a day off work today with my friend who bakes. There has been quite a lot of cake I won't lie. I think/hope I kept it around all in 1600 so no major excess. I feel very full and probably still on a sugary high. Off for a nice long walk this evening Smile

Hangoverstruggles · 07/08/2020 19:59

Hi all,

Just checking in.

B coffee
L two crackers with butter, banana, bowl of weetabix, protein yogurt, strawberries
D 200g chicken breast, salad, low cal Caesar dressing, couple of salad potatoes
S rice cake with pb, peach

Puts my at 1160 but will have a Kit Kat or something ice cream now.

Hope you all have enjoyed today

Lalanbaba · 07/08/2020 20:00

I don't know how you ladies are keeping the calorie count at 1200.
I'm doing around 1500 and get to the next meal properly hungry. Also the water trick lasts me about 5 minutes.
Slightly change of plans got only salad for lunch and the chicken with veggies and some rice for dinner.
Right now trying the salted caramel ice cream and is better than I expected. You clearly can taste sweetener and no sugar but the texture is quite good.
I might try the halo top if I see it in offer at tesco.

TheHoneyBadger · 07/08/2020 20:14

Monster I hope you enjoyed it!

I’ve just focused on keeping moving today. I’m at nearly 10,000 steps but about to drag the poor dog out for another walk shortly.

Weirdly high temperature today has coincided with having some energy back and heart rate coming down. In the last few days of feeling off my resting heart rate was crazy high. Don’t know what is going on with me but reminding myself that it’s a marathon not a sprint.

TheHoneyBadger · 07/08/2020 20:16

Oh and I bought some coop low cal salted caramel ice cream. Will let you know what I think when I try it. Was disappointed with halos attempt

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 07/08/2020 20:33

Welcome newbies (feels weird to say as I’m a newbie too!)

I’m not calorie counting just focusing on eating only meals (usually 2 but if I’m hungry I’ll have breakfast too) and not snacking and not drinking booze! About to head off on a week in a camper van so some days will move lots and some not at all so trying to get myself into no snack mentality before we leave.

When we get back I’m going to go back to 16:8 and/or 5:2

Hangoverstruggles · 07/08/2020 21:38

@Lalanbaba I'm struggling with 1200. I stuck to it for a while and lost a steady 1-2lb a week, but now I'm around maintenance I tend to eat more like 1400-1500.

I have eaten another 200 since my last post Smile
