Here's our new thread.. 9st0.75 this morning, had some pub tapas last night and a couple of pints, was truly delicious. Will be having a couple of days when I'm away, going to my Sister's for a couple of days either today or tomorrow. I'm sure nobody can guess what my aim is for this month lol

That's gonna be a hard no from me Grin Good job we're all different, the world would be a very boring place otherwise Wink

Octopus37 · 06/08/2020 08:20

Heygirl you are doing brilliantly. Hounds, enjoy your break. I like the sound of that pineapple, although it goes without saying that I would like chocolate better. Sounds as if everyone's doing really well. 9st0.75 here today, meant to be going to a beach today, but a bit worried about it. Need to go somewhere as we have booked the dog in with someone overnight.

Why are you worried octopus? Thanks for the cheers. I saw a pineapple, grilled chicken and avocado recipe the other day that looked nice.

9 St 4.25 this AM so that's 7lbs down in 5.5weeks. I know myself now I need to slow down and eat up to my cals. I find it so hard not to see 'high cal' day as 'overeat chocolate' day... Not good i know. Don't want to lose this great run. Today Fm in Ireland talking about binge eating now as it happens. Interesting.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 06/08/2020 09:47

Morning. Which beach are you thinking of Octopus? It's warm but overcast here today (SW, but nearer Weston Super Mare than Cornwall) and set to be blazing sun tomorrow.

B sausage omelette
L leftover pasta 🍍, salad
D southern fried chicken wraps, salad
S rocky road

Really liking Nutracheck, think I will get a subscription.

Heygirlheyboy · 06/08/2020 09:55

That sausage omelette is on my list. Yum.

Hangoverstruggles · 06/08/2020 13:12

@HoneysuckIejasmine I'm SW too. East Devon.

Lalanbaba · 06/08/2020 13:34

Hello everyone, thanks for the welcome.
Today by the time I got to have breakfast I was ravenous (past 11 am) so big breakfast and almost a snack for lunch.
Will have later dinner with everyone but I have said to myself I'm not having chips. Let's see...
B: 2 soft boil eggs, garlic mushrooms and bagel with lots of black pepper
L: fat free Greek yoghurt and a big punnet of blueberries
D: homemade Black bean burgers with bbq pulled jackfruit in a brioche bun. Rocket salad on the side.

Have anyone tried the low calorie ice cream from aldi? Any good? Really want some but I tried made at home once with no cream and was not nice at all

TheHoneyBadger · 06/08/2020 13:38

Hi. Seems most are doing great. Me not so well this week.

Weight is up by over a pound this morning. Long walks yesterday but not great on food.

AF due in 4 days so this is often a tricky time for me. Plus fair bit of domestic stress. Forced ds to come on a long walk with me yesterday and sat and talked in the woods. Think we’re ok but feel quite weary and wrong footed by how rapidly he’s changing and my role is changing. Guessing that’s normal for this stage of parenting!

Just going to try my best for long fasting windows and better food choices till AF. Hopefully my mood and motivation will be better after hormones settle 🤞

MonsteraCheeseplant · 06/08/2020 14:43

@Lalanbaba I've not tried the Aldi ice cream but the Lidl stuff is good if you like the flavours. Do let us know what Aldi have got/if they're any good

alwaysinpjs · 06/08/2020 15:13

9st 6lb again here today but I ate terribly yesterday so no surprise I'm bouncing around.
Re ice cream, I have a bit of an addiction to the Ben & Jerrys lighter ice cream. I've tried the Aldi and Lidl lighter versions and I'm not a fan but I can't get enough of these. The cookie dough is my favourite and I think the whole tub is only around 400 calories. (I'm yet to eat it all in one sitting thankfully)

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 06/08/2020 15:33

Big fat no on cooked pineapple from me too - thought I LOVE bbq’d caramelised bananas. We’re going Campervanning next week so I’ve been meal planning and this is def on the menu. If anyone has any other ideas for sweet treats that aren’t rammed full of sugar (obviously DC will demand s’mores most evenings!) let me know. DH has a finger infection and is on antibiotics so that will help me not to drink as he isn’t either.

@TheHoneyBadger I weirdly am quite motivated the week before my period, the week of I generally have weird digestive issues but also can’t face moving at all so the week after is really hard to get motivated again.

About to head out on a morning run with DS. I hate running but we’re doing C25K together and it’s lovely one on one time with him

Yesterday was:
L: Cuban black beans with cauliflower, mushrooms and courgettes
S: watermelon and hearts of palm
D: Ethiopian take away for our anniversary, are more than I should have done but not as much as I usually would - I was full but not in pain when I went to bed and normally I hate waste so would just finish it all so I’m counting it as a win

HoneysuckIejasmine · 06/08/2020 15:34

Have you seen the forecast for next week? Grin at my end of the region it's a thunderstorms and rain every day. One day has thunder forecast for the while day and night. Yay. ILs are visiting so we're supposed to be touring the attractions, Forest of Dean, Cotswolds etc.

Re ice cream - I like the Asda mini salted caramel ice cream sticks. 50 cals each. Unfortunately the were subbed for some halo top peanut butter flavour equivalents which are 100 cals each. Not tried one yet, will give it a go and feed back!

TheHoneyBadger · 06/08/2020 16:07

Sweet treat I usually (aside from this weeks run in with chocolate hobnobs) enjoy some canned pineapple with natural yoghurt and a spoon of honey. Not crazy high calories I’m guessing but very satisfying.

Forced myself out for a goodish walk. Ds wants me to make fried rice for dinner. Not exactly low cal but have fasted all day. Will aim for the above if I get a sweet craving. Thankfully there are no more biscuits in the house.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 06/08/2020 17:08

Ooh my hunger has come back. Have had as much treats wise as I can allow today while still coming in at 1510 for the day. Looking forward to dinner.

I've got a day off tomorrow and am spending time with a friend. She is a bad influence shall we say, then there's two dinners out at the weekend. This is gonna be a tough one but I hope I can relax a bit and not feel bad after.

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 06/08/2020 17:58

I eat a lot of low calorie ice-cream. Have not got an Aldi or Lidl near the house though so haven't tried that. My fav is oppo chocolate hazelnut

Heygirlheyboy · 06/08/2020 19:52

Hi all, checking in and logged for the day, 28cals under, 4320.
B: berries, Greek yoghurt, quinoa crunch and coffee
L: Chicken soup and soda bread
D: shepherd's pie as beans, large portion
S: apple and tbsp peanut butter, bueno cone, love those Star 220 cals

Heygirlheyboy · 06/08/2020 19:53

1430 cals eaten Grin what an error!

DrMadelineMaxwell · 06/08/2020 19:58

Today's exercise has been decorating (sanding woodwork and stripping wallpaper) as well as running backwards and forwards with buckets of water doing a water change on my LARGE fish tank. I'm in on my cals for today. It certainly got me hot and bothered so I'm counting it as exercise.

And food - I'm in under cals for the day, but goodness me I've eaten not a lot, but all rubbish in and around the decorating. A bowl of cereal and milk, some doritos from a sharing bag and a magnum. There was an apple there too, so not completely void of nutrition but must do better tomorrow.

Hangoverstruggles · 06/08/2020 20:07

Jude's low cal is good! I got it on offer in Sainsbury's last week. Tried the peanut butter and the vegan choc and both pretty good! I also like the Lidl mint choc.

Not a bad day for me. Eaten treats but calories ok and feel nicely full.

B coffee
L pain aux chocolate, strawberries, coffee
D 200g chicken breast, bubble & squeak using Pinch of Nom low cal recipe
S low fat Greek yog with bluebs, packet of crisps, home made banana muffin, cuppa

Comes in at just under 1300. Did a HIIT class evening. Going to weigh in the morning but expecting to be up. I feel good though, and can see I'm looking more toned from doing classes so maybe I care less about the scales now!

@HoneysuckIejasmine we've got pretty good weather according to bbc (near Exeter) I bloody hope so anyway as off work for another week and really want to enjoy being out & about before being back in the office!

HoneysuckIejasmine · 06/08/2020 20:11

1430 cals eaten Grin what an error!
Was going to say... Is that your weekly cumulative... Grin
MonsteraCheeseplant · 06/08/2020 20:29

Aw, I was briefly impressed by your score.
Dinner was a bust. I tried making Jambalaya in the pressure cooker for the first time. It spectacularly failed. It was soup. Why did the recipes lie to me? So we got fish and chips instead. I was so hangry by this point i gave no shits.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 06/08/2020 20:47

Mmmmm....fish and chips.

@hangoverstruggles, I like to do what you did there for lunch. Have something treatlike, but make it (semi) healthy and have it for a meal. So we are having afternoon tea next week at a local hotel as it's my birthday present from my sister and it's the first time since Feb we've been able to go and do it. It won't hurt that it'll only cost her half price to treat me too.

I won't eat before we go. It will be sandwiches, a scone and it usually comes with four little cakes. A mini eclair, a mini meringue, a small carrot cake and a small choc brownie. I give the brownie to one of my kids and the carrot cake to the others and I enjoy the rest. And then won't have dinner as I'll be really full!

TheHoneyBadger · 06/08/2020 20:55

Cream tea sounds lovely.

Fasted all day then had fried rice as planned. About to take the dog for his last walk then might have some fruit and yoghurt and prepare some oats for tomorrow. I don’t feel that hungry but think it’s better to eat something healthy now than risk late night munchies and a bad choice later.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 06/08/2020 21:10

Monstera I have never managed that kind of rice dish cooked in a slow/pressure/etc cooker. Soup every time. Which is fine if you were aiming for congee but otherwise not so good.

We have "pizzagate" in our family. Where upon my much looked forward to and handmade pizza (including the dough and real mozzarella) stuck to the tray then came up absolutely coated in nonstick. DH wisely said nothing but offered to share his and ordered some new pizza trays there and then. I was livid and really upset. I had managed my food for a day or so beforehand so I could have that bloody pizza.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 06/08/2020 21:43

Well i'm lamenting the recipe liars for making me put a litre of stock in.
It is gutting to waste good ingredients.
