Here's our new thread.. 9st0.75 this morning, had some pub tapas last night and a couple of pints, was truly delicious. Will be having a couple of days when I'm away, going to my Sister's for a couple of days either today or tomorrow. I'm sure nobody can guess what my aim is for this month lol

Sounds balanced and healthy Lalanbaba Good luck with your job applications.

TheHoneyBadger · 26/08/2020 12:08

Yay for a nice normal pint octopus

Avoiding scales as my one pint turned into several and I ate some junk when I got home.

Had a nice salad and a steak for lunch. Bizarrely got a second period yesterday (only 13 days into my cycle). Rarely eat red meat but was craving it.

Going swimming again this evening and may fast till after.

TheHoneyBadger · 26/08/2020 12:09

The steak was yesterday. Not today.

Hangoverstruggles · 26/08/2020 21:34

Hi everyone,

Nice to catch up on the thread to see how everyone is getting on. I've still been keeping on track, just not posting as often for some reason!

Ate around 1700 today...roughly trying to stick to 1400, but knowing I will have a couple of days a week where I go over. I'm still maintaining 10st but can see a real change in my body from exercising. Happy to keep maintaining whilst gaining a bit more strength.

B coffee, protein yogurt
L flat bread with chicken, avocado and loads of mozerella and fries (ate out) plus some of ds Belgian waffle
D chicken & red pepper stir fry
S berries, tea spoon peanut butter

No exercise but on the go all day.

@Bercows that movie night sounds awesome! I would have eaten like most evenings without a second thought 😳

@Lalanbaba turkey meatballs is a good idea! Keep means to try swapping to turkey mince as a lower fat option

Well done @Heygirlheyboy you are smashing it!

SistemaAddict · 26/08/2020 22:20

Forgive me posters, for I have sinned. Tonight I ate 2 untoasted but buttered hot cross buns, and two small packets of lentil chips. I was really hungry but feel like a glutton. How did I do this on a nightly basis? Blush I feel such shame. I don't like the full feeling at this time of night. It feels wrong and uncomfortable. I'm used to feeling hungry and light-stomached at bedtime and will not do this again. I've lost at least a stone in 2 months, possibly 2 and a quarter, and will keep going.
In more positive news, all our Covid tests are negative and we can go out walking again to offset the damage of the hot cross buns. Hurrah!

MonsteraCheeseplant · 27/08/2020 07:06

Please don’t feel ashamed, no food or amount of food is sinful, nor is feeling full wrong in any way. Please don’t think that feeling hungry is good, it’s not. I’m on holiday and have really really relaxed my diet and have likely gained some. I’ve eaten fudge and cake and chocolate etc etc. Let’s not deprive ourselves to compensate, Let us not get anxious or feel ashamed. It’s just food. Food is neutral. It’s not a reflection of how good a person we are, our worth, our attractiveness etc.

Octopus37 · 27/08/2020 07:54

Bercows don't feel ashamed honestly, that isn't even that much to eat, if you were hungry thats ok, it's not as if you were eating for the sake of it. You are doing so well. Personally I dont think the being hungry being good thing is right either, I know loads of people say that with fasting and that we have to learn how to deal with hunger etc. I have always struggled with it, if I feel hungry I need to eat, get really grumpy, dont feel great etc, so have to tie it in with trying not to go overboard. I used to struggle with feelings of shame regarding food, tbh I had a bad patch with food in my early 20s. The deprivation isn't worth it.

Lalabana good look with the job hunting, I am kind of doing the same at the moment.
9st0.5 this morning. Bought some size 10 (think the brand is Star Mcdonald) jeans from Debenhams yesterday (had a voucher), they just about fit so quite pleased.

Oh bercows I feel for you. I agree with everything above, including that if you were hungry it wasn't enough so much!

But I also get the shame, I used to feel like that but after much bigger amounts, and not real food. I love this thread because it's clear for many that it's not just weight loss but getting the right balance with food and I think it's fair to see that balance will include plenty of splurge and over indulgences along the way, that's life, be it boredom or a birthday party or a night out etc. We have to work on that to make it OK. Sending you lots of understanding.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 27/08/2020 08:59

Hi! Not been well (feel all sinus-y so doing a covid test today but sure it's not) so not checked in, but have still been logging.

B omelette with leftover hot dogs sliced in.
L roasted parsnip and mushroom salad (dinner leftovers)
D pepper, chickpea and tomato bake

Got myself a new dress this week. I used to be a big shopper with Lindy Bop but they've gone in to administration so I've taken a punt on Popsy Clothing who a friend is a fan off. Very pleased - lovely jersey dress, very comfy, reasonable price and it has pockets Grin

Heygirlheyboy · 27/08/2020 12:15

9st 1.75 for me today. Will be hard to get the steps in today tho.
B: berries and Greek yoghurt and coffee
L: omelette with a mountain of salad
D: undecided

dalecooper · 27/08/2020 13:03

Feeling good today. Going to do some arm exercises with dumbbells in a bit.
Yesterdays meals:
Brunch: Scrambled eggs and 3x bacon medallions
Supper: Pasta with a sort of bolognaise sauce. Lots of vegetables thrown into the sauce.
Snacks: 3 x Ryvita with zero fat cottages cheese and 1 x gin and diet tonic

TheHoneyBadger · 27/08/2020 13:41

Feeling hungry is horrible for me. That’s why’s I fast personally because I don’t feel hungry that way as crazy as that sounds. I think I’ve trained my body to be effective at switching over to fat burning which means no energy shortage and therefore no hunger or shrinking bmr.

Whereas trying to do calorie deficit long term leaves me ravenous and feeling deprived and obsessed with food. It’s once I start eating and set off that cycle that I get hungry. It’s usually boredom that breaks my fast rather than actual hunger.

I’ve cocked up the last couple of days a bit with beer gluttony on Tuesday then eating a takeaway last night but hey ho. I just slept for nearly 13 hours and feel slug like so can’t see it being an active day. Long fasting window will be very easy though having slept for half a day Grin

Going to try for full fast or just a very light supper tonight then brave the scales tomorrow. Work is looming now so need to avoid stress eating/drinking

Heygirlheyboy · 27/08/2020 14:12

Honeybadger it's funny as different things suit us. I recently read that IF is good for anxiety.. Don't know if you've found that. I couldn't do it as I need lots of calories every few hours, 3 decent meals suit me best. I'm including a pic of my yummy lunchtime omelette which I had with a 100g of leaves and homemade dressing. Really hope to get the steps in later as yesterday was a no go. My fitbit is only syncing day to day for some reason, and then not saving the info.. V annoying and don't know what's happened. Love seeing my weekly average etc. The new life of back to school really looking now and this thread has been great company and structure for me over the months away from the norm.

Heygirlheyboy · 27/08/2020 14:12

Looming not looking!

TheHoneyBadger · 27/08/2020 14:46

Contact Fitbit support they’re good at suggesting fixes and replacing if it can’t be fixed.

Heygirlheyboy · 27/08/2020 15:18

Yes might be worthwhile. I forgot the pic earlier!

SistemaAddict · 27/08/2020 15:40

Thank you for being supportive Thanks I've had bellyache since and tmi but I'm certainly not constipated anyMore Blush I didn't sleep well either. My plan is that until the dc go back to school I'm not going to be as strict and just aim for being active and eating healthily without the calorie limit.

Lalanbaba · 27/08/2020 16:19

Feeling a bit down today,
Hate doing video recordings for job positions, I never feel that I give an accurate picture of myself, much rather have an interview with people, even if is online. Grrrrrrr

Lalanbaba · 27/08/2020 16:22

Posted too early.
So anyway craving all the food so I'm just avoiding the fridge.
B: chocolate soya milk and croissant. (told you about the cravings)
L : cupa soup, banana and tea.
D: tuna pasta bake hopefully. Salad

MonsteraCheeseplant · 27/08/2020 20:01

Ok, i'm back. I have stuffed my face with crap since Monday, i dread to think the calorie count. I'm hitching myself back up to the wagon tomorrow. Might take it down to 1200 for a few days.

Octopus37 · 27/08/2020 20:43

Lalanbaba, job hunting sucks doesn't it. I know what you mean about video recordings instead, its definitely harder than face to face. What sot of work do you do? I applied to a promotions firm at the beginning of the year where I had to do that, was nerve wracking. Monstera, everyone deserves a break every now and again. Think it will be great for lots of us to get back to some sort of normality next week.

I’m back to a whisker under 14st. Need to try and build on that. My goal for August was to be securely under 14st rather than just flirting with it.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Heygirlheyboy · 28/08/2020 07:12

Well done Honeybadger! You can hold onto that. Great to hit the target. I'm 9st1 this morning Smile Really pleased. Now I've had only around 1250 I'd say last 2/3 days so I'll allow more now just to watch I don't get hungry etc. But really pleased, that's 10.25lbs in just under 9 weeks. I know the next few might take a month or more and I'm OK with that. Next target 9. Two years since was this weight.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 28/08/2020 07:32

I'm up 5lbs. Ouch.

TheHoneyBadger · 28/08/2020 07:37

Quick on, quick off ime monster. Just get back in the wagon with us.
