Here's our new thread.. 9st0.75 this morning, had some pub tapas last night and a couple of pints, was truly delicious. Will be having a couple of days when I'm away, going to my Sister's for a couple of days either today or tomorrow. I'm sure nobody can guess what my aim is for this month lol

That sounds lovely @HoneysuckIejasminei haven't had cous cous for ages

SistemaAddict · 20/08/2020 14:21

I'm having yogurt and muesli for lunch. I might have it for dinner too so I can have some of the cake we made yesterday Grin
Glad the ankle is better!

Lalanbaba · 20/08/2020 15:58

This might sound daft but is smoked mackerel very fishy or more like tuna? Never tried it but looking to expand horizons.
Today went to a new hairdresser and very happy with the results. Just a cut but will go back to get colour too. Feel so much lighter.
B: strawberries and fat free yogurt. Tea
L: leftover lentils from yesterday with a poached egg and Scone.
D: Steak, salad and homemade wedges

Heygirlheyboy · 20/08/2020 17:35

Thank you so much for the recipe Lalanbaba, sounds delicious!

HoneysuckIejasmine · 20/08/2020 18:02

Lalanbaba I'm not sure... I really like fish and they all taste very different to me so I'm not sure what you mean by fishy. It's a strong flavour, I had about 40g today and that was sufficient. A pack is about £2.50 for 3-4 fillets (about 80-100g each). It's nice in salads, in kedgeree for dinner or mixed with cream cheese and spread on toast. I also like it warm with tomatoes on toast but usually use the tinned stuff in sauce for that rather than the smoked fillets.

Lalanbaba · 20/08/2020 19:55

@HoneysuckIejasmine hiya, so I guess if is very strong flavour.
Cod, plaice and haddock I find they are mild. Salmon middle level and sardines and anchovies strong fishy flavour.
I like all of them but my partner cannot even smell the latter.
Oh well I might just pick up a packet and try them.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 20/08/2020 21:45

Hey everybody, just checking in. Maintenance is going well, i'm on a down fluctuation which is great as I am on holiday a few days next week where i won't be counting. I think the reason is that i've been working towards eating 1500 in the week to allow for 2000 at weekends but after one weekend, I was so stuffed I ate less than I planned the next few days. That's only happened once though. DH has stalled after losing 2 stone which is amazing, we're hoping a diet break next week will be beneficial.

SistemaAddict · 21/08/2020 09:36

AF has arrived so hopefully next week will see a loss.
This is my breakfast. 45g of muesli and 100g of yogurt. This is a portion apparently. How it's supposed to keep anyone going until
Lunch is beyond me.

Have you added plenty of fruit? I thí J if you're feeling hungry or really restrictive it will be harder to keep going.

SistemaAddict · 21/08/2020 10:15

It's got pineapple, papaya, and raisins in it. It's tasty but just looks so pitiful. I prefer to have a decent size dinner though so happy to have a lighter breakfast. Obviously I'd prefer a big plate of toast but needs must Grin

Is it shop bought muesli? They tend to have anything between 20 and 30% sugar on them. So they make their portions so they look a "nice" percentage of what an adult should have. But not realist portion. You should be better with 50g oats and some fresh fruit on top. Not criticism, myself today got 30g of cornflakes for breakfast coz that is the portion they recommend. Will be an early lunch.
HoneysuckIejasmine · 21/08/2020 10:48

I used to do 30g porridge oats, cooked in water them stirred in a mashed banana and a spoon of peanut butter. Lovely and creamy, smooth and yummy. And about 300 cals depending on size of banana

HoneysuckIejasmine · 21/08/2020 10:48

B bacon and egg
L same as yesterday I think
D chicken curry

Heygirlheyboy · 21/08/2020 10:55

I know it's hard when it looks small but with all that it will probably fill you and be slow release over time. I have a day to myself today, yippee!!! So I am having a walk, lunch and just.... Time. Have a good day all.

TheHoneyBadger · 21/08/2020 12:27

That does look small. I’m sure you could get more oats, protein powder and some seeds and almonds for the same cals as shop bought muesli though. Actually I’m guessing. Yay for af.

I’m 14st1 exactly today and have just been cooking onions and garlic and lots of spices and stuck in the slow cooker with carrots, potatoes, baby broad beans and soy beans. Not sure what protein will be. May just cook ds some sausages to go with and steam some fish for myself.

Apparently fasting has made me a crap mother as ds has been fending for himself more often. I think it’s more that he’s sleeping half the day then emerging and going out on his bike then returning when I’m done with having to cook (I sleep quite early).

Return to routine of school may do us both some good. Usually I make sure there’s easy grab stuff for him for breakfast, make him a packed lunch and make him dinner and if hungry again he makes himself something simple like noodles or eggs.

I swear boys never stop eating.

SistemaAddict · 21/08/2020 12:32

The sugar is in the fruits only. No other sugar. The fruit is needed for my poor sluggish digestive system though and dried fruit works very well for me Blush. I'll get better yogurt next time as made the mistake of fat free. Lunch will be a bagel and Mexican cheese and an apple. Dinner tbc.

Keep going everyone Thanks

Heygirlheyboy · 21/08/2020 12:47

I won't limit fruit and I think you said you have to be careful about being too restrictive, apologies if I have that wrong, so definitely don't blush for adding fruit or dried fruit! I am having a delicious beetroot and goats cheese risotto for my solo lunch.. Bliss!

Heygirlheyboy · 21/08/2020 12:50

And yes to full fat Greek or other yoghurt! I regularly have 100g Greek with 200g berries and will sometimes sprinkle seeds on top also. It keeps me going and I'm a known calorie guzzler in the morning. I think I logged a 480cal ONO at one stage Grin

Octopus37 · 21/08/2020 13:01

HoneyBadger I feel your pain about boys eating, my 13 year old is massive and I too do the letting them fend for themselves thing cause I am working from home and out and about working. School starting will be a relief, although I'm sure not everyone feels like that. 9st1.75 this morning still, not feeling amazing at the moment, but hopefully that will change soon.

Mine is 13 too! Mind you he’s always been a bottomless pit when it comes to food. I’ve warned that he has to start getting his body clock back round. Going to wake him at 2 today and gradually wind him back.

Sorry you’re not feeling great. You’ve had a hectic run of it. How’s the new place feeling?

Heygirlheyboy · 21/08/2020 13:48

That is tricky when you're eating very differently to them. Some batch or slow cooking on return to routine might help.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 21/08/2020 14:56

Hello everyone. It's a very grey mIserable day and I'm not feeling optimistic about our UK short break next week. So I'm in one of those fuck it kind of moods which could end badly but I've got room for it i think. It's hard to care all the time!

SistemaAddict · 21/08/2020 17:39

The weather is shite. I hope it improves for next week for you.

I have 331 calories available for dinner. Hmm.

New place feeling better now thanks, gradually getting there with furniture but not looking forward to the school run. I'm just a bit under the weather, a close friend of my DH's is unwell and things have come to a head with my Dad's partner (she has dementia), she needs to go into a carehome for some respite, but think it could end up being permanent, which would be the best thing all round. Also feeling quite hormonal, worried about work, DS1 (the 13 year old) threatened to not go back to school the other day, we have had problems with him re school in the past so v worried. Me and DH seem to be getting back on tack after a not great period though which is something. Just all too much, dont much like being 45. Sorry for getting my mini violin out, know loads of people hae worse. Need to focus a bit more on eating healthily as just not really managing at the moment.

Thanks @Bercows, at least we're not camping.

331 does not sound enough for dinner but I don't want to spread my sudden fecklessness so won't make any suggestions.
