Here's our new thread.. 9st0.75 this morning, had some pub tapas last night and a couple of pints, was truly delicious. Will be having a couple of days when I'm away, going to my Sister's for a couple of days either today or tomorrow. I'm sure nobody can guess what my aim is for this month lol

Morning all.

Just had my first session with a personal trainer (it was a small group with one PT) doing an hour work out. Signed up to do a weekly work out plus get nutrition advice and at-home work outs set as part of the package. It's a 12 week programme. Interested to see how I get on 😬

Interested to see if the nutrition goals she sets matches what I'm working to.

🤞 @Octopus37 its not the virus. Hope the test process wasn't too traumatic and def not a waste of resources.

TheHoneyBadger · 16/08/2020 10:00

Hope you all come back clear octopus.

Lamp has a brown transparent glass base and a big brown shade. Not a good description sorry but it’s very 70’s and goes well with the ochre accents I’m into.

1lb of yesterday’s upswing has gone so I’m just 1.2lbs over the new low I saw a couple of days ago. Just seem to be bouncing around and not getting far on the scales this month so far. But I’m doing the right things so I’ll remember JS lectures and just keep going.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 16/08/2020 10:49

Morning! Got my eyebrows waxed this morning, hallelujah. It's my one grooming thing I do other than trimming my nails. Don't get hair cuts more than once a year, don't wear make up, don't paint my nails or anything. But I enjoy having nice eyebrows!

B bacon sandwich
L salad, cupa soup
D roast cauliflower and chickpeas - usually would be in a wrap but saving cals for...
S lemon cheesecake Grin

Not sure what I'm doing today, hopefully sorting out some projects at school - we want to build some staging in the field.

Lalanbaba · 16/08/2020 11:39

Morning everyone!
Have open the beauticians finally? I have an appointment for a trim next Thursday after almost a year.
Yesterday we end up not eating the sausages so that will be lunch today.
B: pancakes with banana and the tiniest drizzle of golden syrup. Tea
L: bangers and mash, peas and onion gravy
D: grilled chicken salad
Has anyone noticed if sweet things taste sweeter? I mean I have reduced the sugar consumption as in I will have something sweet other than fruit once every few days rather than few times a day. And seems that sweet things taste more sweet if that makes sense.

Heygirlheyboy · 16/08/2020 13:15

Getting my hair cut this week, can't wait.

Added 100cals to my lunch today and it meant I ate a ton of salad, easily half the plate, with my all time favourite ratatouille. I added a dressing of 10ml olive oil and red wine vinegar plus a spoon of pumpkin seeds. Delicious. Hope all having a good Sunday.
B: berries and Greek yoghurt and coffee
L: as above
D: chicken and rice of some desceiotion
S: fruit and nuts

Ugh I need to go back to not drinking. 16:8 and a day of healthy good food went totally out of the window after two glasses of wine and two vodkas! We have friends coming over for lunch so DH is making pasta (he grinds the flour fresh and everything) which we’ll have with fresh tomatoes, tofu ricotta and basil, and a big kale salad. Have got cheesecakes for afters with fresh figs so am hoping that will basically doesn’t me the whole day! One of the friends is pregnant so I’ll join her not drinking

Heygirlheyboy · 16/08/2020 17:04

Sounds delicious! Two glasses of wine wouldn't throw you too much, vodka is surely calorie free?! Grin

Heygirlheyboy · 16/08/2020 17:05

Lamp sounds lovely TheHoneyBadger!

TheHoneyBadger · 16/08/2020 17:26

There are some really clever, well informed people on this chain of threads and yet I have never felt patronised, or talked down to once until today.

Nor had I felt anyone put party political broadcasts ahead of safety in schools on here till today.

TheHoneyBadger · 16/08/2020 17:27

Apologies wrong thread. Cross and confused.

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 16/08/2020 17:34

@Heygirlheyboy it was more the alcohol induced snacking on biscuits that followed Blush

Heygirlheyboy · 16/08/2020 17:41

Ah I get you, pain. I'm trying a new recipe here for dinner, chicken biryani. Smells delicious so fingers crossed! Hope you're OK TheHoneyBadger

TheHoneyBadger · 16/08/2020 18:00

Yes I’m ok just thoroughly pissed off by keirs no ifs no buts statement and it’s implications for any chance of science driven policy making.

So pissed off in fact that I’ve poured a drink and acquiesced to ds request for a takeaway.

Does red wine, cheeseburger and chips cure existential rage/despair ?

TheHoneyBadger · 16/08/2020 18:03

I may tweet Keir to say not only has he increased my chances of being forced into unsafe work practices but he has also fucked up my diet.

Don’t mind me. I’ll be in the corner ranting and inhaling calories.

Lalanbaba · 16/08/2020 18:11

@IJumpedAboardAPirateShip that sounds lovely!
Never heard of tofu ricotta before.
@TheHoneyBadger are you a teacher? Enjoy the rage induced feast and do no feel bad for it after please

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 16/08/2020 18:23

@Lalanbaba just make it myself using firm tofu, lemon juice and whatever herbs I have lying around, pretty quick and easy

HoneysuckIejasmine · 16/08/2020 18:37

My sympathies to all teachers currently working, especially in secondary schools seeing hundreds of people a day. The risk profile is very different in primary Vs secondary, though neither are ideal.

DD starts Reception this year. Her school is tiny (a "hamlet school") so I am not concerned as she won't be coming in to contact with a huge number of people and they've divided the school in to bubbles anyway (of approx 20) so it feels pretty safe for everyone.

Myself and another Governor have spend a good deal of time this summer improving the outdoor space so kids can stay outside as much as possible too. One more project to go, just pricing it up before buying the materials. We've fundraised for hygiene products too, so that's great news.

Cheesecake was really nice.

Think antibiotics are on the verge of kicking in in next day or two, mouth feels less sore. Cross your fingers for me please!

TheHoneyBadger · 16/08/2020 20:10

Everything crossed honey. Had an abscess a couple of years ago. Hellish.

Yes secondary teacher. The non logic of teens having to wear masks on buses and in shops on the way to school then taking them off in order to enter the community’s biggest mix of households crammed into an overcrowded under cleaned building is making me lose any remaining faith in common sense.

Fried food and wine has helped. Hope I can avoid comfort eating and drinking myself into morbid obesity come September lol

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 16/08/2020 20:37

Hi all, I've been away for a couple of weeks. Looks like we might be moving to a new area and there has been a lot of eating at service stations as we sort things out... Not ideal! I've managed to lose just under a pound since last weigh in though and am back calorie counting today.
Sorry your return to work stuff is stressful @TheHoneyBadger
Hi to all those who've joined while I've been slacking off 👋

TheHoneyBadger · 16/08/2020 21:22

Well done iggle!

SistemaAddict · 16/08/2020 21:32

Starmer isn't in charge though and I doubt bozo will listen to a word he says anyway.

I've had the weekend off from calorie counting as been very tired and feeling crap. We had a pizza takeaway on Friday but I've made up for it since. Shopping delivery tomorrow which is our favourite day as there's choice of what to eat. I hope they have my spicy cheese. I need a Mexican cheese bagel for lunch. I've stopped ordering lentil chips as they were something I tended to snack on too much. I tend to eat an apple now or rice cakes. I had a tin of pears for lunch and really enjoyed them. Piece of toast for breakfast, tomato and mozzarella pasta for dinner and 2 homemade oatmeal raisin cookies because dd baked them.

TheHoneyBadger · 16/08/2020 23:05

Well if dd baked them it would’ve been rude not to bercows!

SistemaAddict · 16/08/2020 23:13

Yes she gets upset if I won't try things so I always do now mainly so they don't see I'm weird about food Grin

DrMadelineMaxwell · 17/08/2020 00:28

Still plodding on. Not expecting a loss this week due to not being very organised or vigilent with food. Still also plodding on through the decorating, nearly there though. Only another day of wallpapering and another of painting to go if all goes to plan.

everycowandagain · 17/08/2020 08:02

Morning all. Official post-holiday weigh in has me at 135.6lbs this morning, up from 128.4lbs before I went. Proof I had a good time, if it were needed...

I got up early and did a fitnessblender HIIT workout this morning, which has helped to shake off the post holiday sluggishness.

I am going to clean up my diet, get back to my usual training and save alcohol for the weekend. Aim is to try and get back down a bit before the end of the month, closer to my usual target of 130lbs.

Have a good day everyone.
