Well done NerrSnerr! Inspirational. I can’t wait til I’m in the 11s.

Ecci · 12/08/2020 12:33

Congratulations @NerrSnerr I've still got 1.8lbs to go before I reach the 11s, so impressed with your achievement.

MotherOfDragonite · 12/08/2020 23:05

Congratulations NerrSnerr! I'm so far away from the 11s, I can't touch them with a barge pole yet Grin but it's so exciting to watch others' progress.

MotherOfDragonite · 12/08/2020 23:10

Good night everyone!

In this heat I have no appetite and find it really easy not to over-eat. So all is going well with getting back to where I was before I lost the diet plot.

Breakfast was my usual boiled egg on half a bagel lunch was a very light lettuce soup and dinner was a more extravagant pasta dish with lemon, vegan cream cheese, courgettes and peas that DD1 wanted to make from a recipe she'd found.

I am following the WW green plan and saving up my weekly points for Fridays, when I can have some kind of special meal as a treat if I've done well that week.

NerrSnerr · 13/08/2020 08:31

Thanks all, am really pleased to be in another stone bracket. I have been swimming again this morning- it's so lovely to be back in the pool again. No idea what to do with the children today, took them swimming yesterday so could do that again or just go to the park. Hoping it'll be cooler today as it was a killer yesterday.

cricketmum84 · 13/08/2020 08:56

Morning all!

@MotherOfDragonite that dish sounds gorgeous! I've just added a similar recipe to my meal plan next week from the dirty vegan cookbook.

@GetTheStartyParted I fell asleep in the garden after work 😂 and then went to bed at 9pm but was kept awake by more stifling heat and my neighbours having a massive garden party (even though we are in one of the strict local lockdown areas)

Congrats @NerrSnerr ❤️❤️

So jealous of all of you able to swim! Still no pools open here :(

Plan for today is - update with pics of my fruit and veg delivery later, grapefruit salad for breakfast, quorn ham and salad wrap for lunch, lemon and coriander quorn with brown rice for dinner. Getting a bit sick of all the quorn going on but I'm still fighting with DD over the vegetarians actually eat vegetables thing 😂😂 she's feeling rubbish with a water infection and antibiotics at the moment though so I'm willing to indulge a little.

Have a great Thursday everyone. If you squint a bit you can almost see Friday!

GetTheStartyParted · 13/08/2020 10:35

It definitely feels like Friday here! I'm not back at work until 1st of September now and my lovely DS is finally here Grin so happy to see him. I now have to deal with a barrage of visitors, armed with cakes and treats, as everyone has missed him.

I hope you can swim soon @cricketmum84 It was quite therapeutic to be honest. Some much needed time to myself.

I have just finished work and had a celebratory breakfast of bacon and egg. Probably having hunters chicken for dinner as its one of DS's favourite but will have to adapt mine to be keto friendly. They will have fries, I will have tenderstem broccoli.

Bella444 · 13/08/2020 12:59

I'm hot on your heels @NerrSnerr

I've managed to drop two of the three holiday pounds I put on just in a few days Grin. Maybe I actually ate healthier/less than I thought whilst away! So just one to go to get back to 11.13.

Hope everyone is getting a drop of rain now, it's cooled things down a bit here!

bellajay · 13/08/2020 19:40

I’m very jealous of all the swimmers, my local pool is open but I haven’t managed to find a time to go yet that’s also likely to be quiet.

I’ve been on the naughty step for the last week but the last three days I’ve stayed within my calories and got my daily exercise in so hoping it starts to show on the scales soon. I think I’m struggling because I thought I’d feel different with 10kg off. I know I have significantly more to lose but my clothes don’t feel any different, I don’t feel any different and I certainly don’t look any different.

I know some of you have lost a lot of weight-how long did it take to notice a difference in yourself and maybe drop a clothes size?

WhatALearningCurve · 13/08/2020 19:58

@bellajay - I've lost just under 4 stone in total but just under 3 stone this "period" of weight loss (since mid April)

To be honest - I've only recently started to feel different. I went through a massive stage of instead of feeling better I felt worse because all my weight loss was doing was highlighting so deluded I'd been for so long.

I had size 12 clothes that I thought I fit in when in reality I clearly didn't so I was wearing the same clothes for a long time. It's only the last few weeks when some 12s are a bit big and I'm occasionally fitting in a 10 I've felt different. That and being able to buy different styles. I bought some mom jeans the other day which I've always loved but looked daft in whereas now I think they look right on.

It's also helped when I've now been able to see friends and stuff and them reacting to how I look. That might be shallow but I've always wanted that "oh my god" moment and I'm starting to get it.

Shedtheload · 13/08/2020 20:07

whatalearningcurve I totally get you with the feeling deluded thing. I have lost almost two and a half stone and still have about 12 lb to go and even then I will be at the top end of the BMI scale. I can’t believe how big I used to be and spent ages feeling quite pissed off with myself for letting myself get to that point and not noticing. I always thought I would notice and be able to stop myself getting obese but it seems not. I also used to kid myself that I was a size 12 (lol) but I only wore clothes with elastic in them funnily enough. I am starting to feel a bit better now as I think the weight-lifting is starting to have an impact even if the scale isn’t moving too much at the moment. My measurements are also almost the same as they were several years ago when I was an actual size 12 and that’s making me feel more confident.

I am accepting that I will need to weigh myself regularly for the rest of my life because otherwise I will just let things slide. I’d rather that than have to lose all the weight again though.

bellajay · 13/08/2020 21:26

Gosh @WhatALearningCurve I had better keep going then! I started at the end of May and I had this sort of vision of coming out of lockdown looking really different. In reality I probably still need another three months of quarantine to get that effect - and in the meantime I’ll just be grateful I don’t need to spend on new clothes yet 😂

4 stone is amazing, you must feel great. How have you been doing it?

WhatALearningCurve · 14/08/2020 07:08

@bellajay my mums been telling me for a while I look different. But I always feel like she needs to tell me stuff like that ha.

I think it's only taken this long because I've not been able to see people so there's been no one to tell me ha.

Calorie counting and walking. I've got ARFID so my diet is mainly made up of white carbs CC is the only thing that works for me. Like @Shedtheload I've accepted I'm gonna have to count and weigh for ever more to stop myself slipping again but I'm trying to train my brain to think like a slim person rather than the previous of "there's food available so I must eat it"

NerrSnerr · 14/08/2020 08:47

Morning all. It's interesting to read other people talk about size 12. I convinced myself I was still a 12 by wearing White Stuff Jeggings (white stuff comes up big) and then when they got too tight I bought a couple of size 14 normal trousers and they didn't do up. I'm just getting into the 14s now and need probably another half a stone off for them to be comfortable.

I'm working from home today (with the help of a 5 year old). Looking forward to the weekend and not juggling work and childcare.

Bella444 · 14/08/2020 09:21

@WhatALearningCurve I think I'm going to be the same, always counting!

Shedtheload · 14/08/2020 10:05

NerrSnerr I was wearing New Look skinny jeans that were extremely generously cut because my waist size alone was at least a size 16, probably more like an 18. I also managed to squeeze myself into some GAP jeans that were size 8 American size so 12 over here (but that was a squeeze, lol). I had some sort of aversion to buying clothes in a size 14 so just avoided wearing anything that wasn’t stretchy.

I have quite a dense body so even though I am still 12 st, my waist is now 29 inches and my hips are 39 inches. I didn’t take measurements when I first started but after I had lost about a stone, my waist was 33 inches so I reckon it was easily 36 when I started. Yikes. I am not expecting my measurements to change hugely between now and my target weight but am hoping my waist goes down to 28 inches.

GetTheStartyParted · 14/08/2020 10:15

It really is interesting to hear how others feel.

I really struggle with how I look/feel. Almost 4 stone lost here and some days I feel as big as when I started. I clearly don't look it, I have dropped around 3 dress sizes (they vary so much!) and so many people comment on my loss. Its just difficult to feel good about myself, i am trying to work on this and feel its an important part of losing weight.

Went swimming at 8am this morning, the pace was more to my speed today and I managed 58 lengths.

Happy Friday guys Smile

peanutbutterdog · 14/08/2020 10:18

Morning all, I have list 1.25lbs bringing me to 12st 3lbs. It still seems so far away from the elusive 11s, but on I go but am glad to see there are others here at the exact same stage. On a positive note, this loss gives me an overall 4st loss.

I seem to have clothing size mentality in reverse - I could never have squeezed into anyone's size 12s since my early 20s but with my current weightloss my brain has been slow to tell me to go out and buy smaller clothes. Its only when my friend laughed at me and told me the arse was hanging off me I realised I had to move down!

Well done to everyone who has lost. I am jealous of those of you with pools - still all closed here.

peanutbutterdog · 14/08/2020 10:21

Ah, GetTheStartParted, coss posts!! Just noticing a common theme for some of us who have lost a significant amount and finding it difficult to visually recognise yourself how much you have changed. Must be some science or psychology behind that!

GetTheStartyParted · 14/08/2020 11:09

@peanutbutterdog definitely! There is a comfort in my clothes being too big, I feel almost like I shouldn't be wearing 'smaller' clothes, that I might look like I'm squeezing into them. Hopefully our brains will eventually catch up!

My DH keeps telling me to go clothes shopping but I keep putting it off. I am taking both DS's shopping next week though so maybe I'll treat myself to something? Smile

Hope your pool opens soon. I have loved going back this week. I have been three times. Only booked in for one session next week as everyone is home so we are too busy. Then I will be back to it.
No other exercise compares for me. Looking to branch out as I get slimmer though, something to help tone my disgusting belly Blush it's beyond repair but I need to improve how I feel about it.

peanutbutterdog · 14/08/2020 11:54

Losing weight is definitely an expensive business wardrobe wise, GetTheStartyParted - I think you definitely should get a treat as well as your ds's!! You've done so very well and deserve it. I finally cleared out my wardrobes yesterday as I am determined not to keep any bigger size clothes in the hope I'll never need them again. But I have nothing left!!

Shedtheload is normally good for explanations and might know why the brain doesn't match the eye sometimes.

JessJonesJumps · 14/08/2020 23:41

@nerrsnerr congrats on reaching the 11s! 🎉 It's so nice to reach a different stone. It's a great motivator!
Snowed under this week with work and DS starting high school. Luckily I've been too busy and too hot to eat much so I'm still losing even though I haven't managed to fit any exercise in (unless walking up and down the hill to school helps!).

cricketmum84 · 15/08/2020 08:10

Morning all and happy weekend! I'm busily interview prepping for Monday. I'm out of contract soon and have been approached for what really would be my dream job so please keep everything crossed for me! I only gave them my cv Wednesday, first interview Friday and then this one with one of the directors on Monday so they seem to be moving quite quickly!

Weight wise nothing much is happening... really really need to push myself to record my meals properly as I'm being a bit naughty at the moment. I need to be more mindful about what I am eating rather than shoving it in and not thinking about it. It doesn't help that work has been too busy for me to meal prep properly so my carefully laid plans keep turning in to veggie sausage, chips and beans!

We are having pizza tonight (although I normally only have a couple of slices) but then from tomorrow I am promising myself that I will input everything honestly into MFP and get a loss for this month. I'm so far behind on where I wanted to be at this point in the year!

OP posts:
NerrSnerr · 15/08/2020 09:34

Good luck @cricketmum84 I hope it goes well on Monday.

I'm very tired today, neither children slept well and ended up having the 3 year old watching the iPad in my bed at 4am while I tried to sleep. I have a Pilates class in a bit and then have to brave the supermarket shop later. My weight has stayed the same the last couple of days but I have been eating under my calorie goal every day so I'm confident it'll go down soon.

Shedtheload · 15/08/2020 09:53

Well I am not quite in the 11s yet but I am now in the 160s for pounds, so that is exciting, given that I started out in the 200s. And according to my body composition scales (that may or may not be accurate), my body fat percentage is now in the ‘acceptable’ range, albeit right at the top of it). Maybe the weight training is paying off.

Good luck with your interview cricketmum84. I will keep my fingers crossed.
