Morning all and welcome to the newcomers.

Hope you are all ok. I've woken up to heavy rain, which isn't great for dog walking, but I shall go anyway to get my steps in.

Morning! Yep, pouring down here too. We are just getting packed to go away for our two night break. Packing some healthy snacks to help me avoid buying bags of crisps and loads of chocolate biscuits. Going to be hard to get my steps in today - but will try and get in a fast walk once we are there. Hope everyone is having a good Monday so far!

LimeJ · 27/07/2020 07:40

@hodgepodge21 have a great time.

Morning everyone. Raining here too. I'm hoping it dries up and I can fit a walk in on my lunch break. Also hoping being at work keeps me busy and stops any snacking.

I already messed up my 16:8 plan by automatically making myself a coffee when I woke up (cappuccino so lots of milk) Blush onwards and upwards though. I have to get out of my usual mindset of all or nothing where I allow one slip up to derail my efforts entirely e.g. I've eaten one biscuit so I might as well finish the packet plus anything else I can get my hands on!

@morningtoncrescent62 I also become obsessed if I weigh more than once a week so will stick to Sundays now. Here's hoping we're a bit closer to 12 stone come the weekend!

@hodgepodge21 have a lovely couple of days away Smile

YeetYeet · 27/07/2020 08:34

I'm with you there @Grimauldface with the biscuits (and crisps / chocolate / cakes). I can't have them in the house, otherwise I'll eat the lot.
I'm doing low carb and have just found some crisp substitutes which are ok but not too delicious, so I managed to have just the one pack last night, miraculous!

Weighed this morning and lost 4.2lbs Halo

But I didn't lose any thing last week so I've just lost two weeks' worth in one go. A good lesson about perseverance and I'm glad I stuck with it even when last week was so disappointing (poor DH bore the brunt of that Blush)

Onwards and upwards / downwards, good luck this week everyone

MintyCedric · 27/07/2020 08:44

Well that was horrific.

Just weighed and measured. 18st 2lbs, 49-47-57 (size 24).

At my slimmest I was 9st 1, 34-24-37 and a size 10-12.

Onwards and downwards then!

MintyCedric · 27/07/2020 08:50

First aim is to get down to 17st by 7th Septenber so I can get back in all my work clothes comfortably.

I really yesterday that pretty much the only difference between my outdoor/indoor outfits these days is whether I've added underwear Blush

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 27/07/2020 08:56

Good luck MintyCedric. We can all do this together.

DH told me last night although I'm looking slimmer, he's worried it's too quick... But is also happy I'm eating 3 meals a day and exercising. He's thinking the weight loss will slow down gradually though as the weight decreases.

Rain here too. And can't do an exercise video as living room resembles Lego land. Might have to be kitchen dancing again (3songs on radio is approx 1000 steps btw!)

notevenamum1 · 27/07/2020 09:51

Week 1 weigh in today...I have lost 4.5lbs!! I am delighted with this considering I got my period yesterday. I know week 1 has the most dramatic loss so I am trying not to happy dance too hard Grin I am away for a long weekend next weekend soooooo...time will tell what results that will yield.

stoneysongs · 27/07/2020 10:20

Grin

You can do it @MintyCedric

Twilbury · 27/07/2020 10:23

Can I jump in ?

I need all the help I can get, I have nearly 4 stone to lose which is ridiculous! I can't believe I have let myself get to this .

I snack too much and drink too much (especially at the moment) I also have too much time on my hands at the minute and when I get bored I reach for the food.

Will make a start today (again) I have MFP so will give that a good go (again)
I love the idea that 3 songs is 1000 steps .

monkeytennis97 · 27/07/2020 10:28

Morning all!Smile The weather is rubbish here but went out for a walk and danced around in the rain to "It's raining men"😂 Have done a 20 minute light jog on the treadmill too. Small breakfast for me today as had big serving of Moophoria ice cream last night (salted caramel and brownies) yum!

SansaClegane · 27/07/2020 11:24

Ha, I woke up to rain too but stayed in bed until it had stopped Grin thankfully DDog is patient. Half hour morning walk done.
Another half pound down so that's 3 lbs loss total in the last week.
My 'fat clothes' fit a lot better now but still no hope of getting into my normal clothes...

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 27/07/2020 11:36

The problem is more the wind here... Downside of living on top of a hill. (Amazing view is the plus... The mile and half walk up the hill is a definite downside!). I will hopefully get out when DH gets home, but I'd have to tie a rope to my 7yo at the moment.

MintyCedric · 27/07/2020 11:41

I have a collection of about 6 pairs of lovely soft, elasticated harem pants from Simply Be. A couple of pairs are designated for public consumption, the remainder PJs/loungewear.

I have had to go and check out a care home for my dad today so went to the effort of putting Jean's on!

TheBuriedGiant · 27/07/2020 11:55

Morning everyone, raining here too! Have just done a 20min strength exercise and now having a coffee, thinking about lunch! I have the Fastic app too but find that 15:9 tends to work better for me at the moment. I haven’t weighed myself for a while so may wait until next week now as I can also get a bit obsessed with the scales and find they can derail me if I haven’t lost as much as I want!
@Grimauldface think I’ll do my next run on Weds morn

Savoury · 27/07/2020 14:58

First fast over and done with! I am drinking water like crazy which really helps.

It seems we're all in the same boat so let's keep it up! Very impressive loss already @notevenamum1

LimeJ · 27/07/2020 15:38

It's still raining, it looks like autumn outside.

I managed a 75 minute walk with the dog, my poor legs! I've got stuck into cleaning the house so all in all I've been busy and haven't thought too much about food and the fact that I'm bloody starving.

Tonight I will be in just watching tv, this is when I will struggle and want to scoff. Might paint my nails instead.

notevenamum1 · 27/07/2020 15:49

Thanks @Savoury it is a lot but I also have a bmi of 29.5 so it’s natural I’d lose weight quickly at first. From my 1 million previous attempts at losing weight I have noticed that I lose a chunk in week 1, nothing in week 2 and at a snails pace from week 3 (0.5-1lbs per week) so I need to remember that this time and not get disheartened when I don’t see the scale move

Cheesewine · 27/07/2020 15:49

Me! Got a 2 month old and have between 2 and 3 stone to shift. Plugged my fit bit in just now to charge. Not sure if it works walking with a pram though !

notevenamum1 · 27/07/2020 15:49

It’s gona be a looooong road Smile

MushMonster · 27/07/2020 16:53

That was a long walk! I have been sitting at my desk most of the working day! But managed OK with the calories.
Tomorrow is my walking day. 45 min to work, and if not raining 45 min back.
What is that 5:2 system that some of you talk about?
So far I am not hungry, so I am very happy indeed!

pourmeanotherglass · 27/07/2020 18:01

Ok so today is day1. I decided to go with 16:8 combined with cutting out as much processed sugar as I can manage. Lasted till 11:50 before breaking into my packed lunch so need to have finished eating dinner by 7:50.
May also look into getting some sort of fitbit or fitness watch. Any recommendations? I want it to have a GPS and track cycling as well as walking and running. My phone is android if that makes a difference.

morningtoncrescent62 · 27/07/2020 18:02

Well done to today's losers!

MushMonster 5:2 is spending 2 days 'fasting' (actually on a very low calorie intake, e.g. 500 calories) and the other 5 days close to your recommended daily intake. I only tried it once, when I was desperately trying to clamber back on the wagon having got down to a target weight and then lost my mojo. I thought it might help but it was the nail in the coffin for me. All I could think about, all the time, was food - managing being hungry on fast days, and worrying about overdoing it (or not enjoying it enough!) on 'normal' days. It didn't work for me big time, and I ended up completely losing control over my eating for months. But others have had the opposite experience, and find it's a way of eating they can maintain indefinitely, even after hitting target weight.

MintyCedric · 27/07/2020 18:07

Well not the greatest start but could be worse.

2 x Slimfast, raspberries, grapes and and apple.

6 wine gums, bag of crisps and a glass of wine.

Another glass of wine and spaghetti bol for dinner...

So, a bit crap but I've spent half the day sorting out a care home for my bedridden dad and the other half in A&E with my mum (or more specifically waiting in the car park for her as wasn't allowed in despite the fact, she 81, diabetic with a heart condition and was there with a bleeding eardrum which meant she couldnt use her hearing aids!)

Hey ho...tomorrow is another day.
