Welcome Mum2021! Good that you have skipped 2020Grin

83.0 kg this morning, so in theory only minus 0.3 kg. But I think it is one of the bad weeks because I am on my period. So I have found that I do not lose weight around my period.
Still adhering to the diet. Hopefully will be back on the bike from tomorrowSmile

WobbleWhenIRun · 08/11/2020 13:23

Week 25

Start weight: 276.8lbs
Current weight: 228lbs
Weight lost this week: 1.5lbs
Total weight lost: 48.8lbs

Next goals...

  1. Run 1 mile without stopping
  2. Get through Christmas without going backwards - staying the same is fine
  3. 50lbs lost

1.5lbs this week - bang on target.

@FatCatThinCat - I've loved seeing your approach to your 'blip' (as you call it), such a steady and patient way to tackle the scale. I find it really inspiring to see.

@MushMonster, it's really helped me to recognise patterns and know they are coming. I also weigh a bit heavier on the run up to my period and it often settles back down again afterwards. Knowing it's coming has really helped settle my mind when it does.

Well done everyone for sticking with it Smile

MushMonster · 08/11/2020 14:20

Well done @WobbleWhenIRun! It is great loss!

morningtoncrescent62 · 08/11/2020 19:17

Congratulations, losers! @FatCatThinCat back on track, and I'm also dead inspired by your response to your blip. Looking good, @MushMonster, here's hoping for a big loss next week as you move through your cycle. @WobbleWhenIRun you're so close to your 8th goal - it must feel good to be so near to this significant milestone. Well done all.

I'm pleased with how my maintenance fortnight's going, on my new rules. Today I 'spent' my surplus weekend calories on bigger portions with my main meal rather than on snacks, deserts or alcohol - I kept the meal balanced and healthy, just bigger. What I noticed was that even with substantially larger portions, I could still have eaten more. A lot more. I seem to have the appetite of a 6' 3" body builder rather than an ageing 5' 3" not-enormously-active woman. I'm so jealous of people who stop eating partway through a reasonable sized meal because they feel full. It never happens to me. But the good news is that so far my maintenance rules have been easy to stick to, and the extra license for decision-making this weekend has been enjoyable rather than stressful.

Oh, and welcome @Mum2021yay. Jump in and tell us all about your goals and strategies.

morningtoncrescent62 · 09/11/2020 11:38

I see our newest recruit's introductory post has been deleted. Anyone know why? Was the link she put a promotional one? I can't think of anything else.

WobbleWhenIRun · 09/11/2020 13:52

Yup, I think it was spam. The link was a promo.

MushMonster · 09/11/2020 20:39

Good that I did not see any link!
I have been to the gym, first time in 17 daysGrin
Bike today and well I did mot faint and done my climbing. I am very very happyGrin

FatCatThinCat · 14/11/2020 09:57

1.2 kg this week and I'm back into new territory. Well chuffed.

MushMonster · 14/11/2020 10:51

Well done @FatCatThinCat!
That is a great loss and we keep going down and down! We have on this journey for a while now. It is quite amazing how much things have changed in this time.
I have not peeped this week.
I had an extra 300 cal in the form of a home cooked extra soya burger this week.
But I have been good otherwise.
Tomorrow is the day!

FatCatThinCat · 14/11/2020 11:26

I peeped and to be honest, it utterly confuses me. Sunday same weight as Saturday, Monday same, Tuesday and Wednesday the same. Don't peep Thursday and Fridays. Weigh in on Saturday and I've gone down to 123.? but I can't remember the final figure so weigh again and I'm 124.3. So I lost nothing for most of the week, big drop at end, and then went up in the time it took me to get to the kitchen and put the kettle on. Confused

MushMonster · 14/11/2020 11:54

LOL that is a good one!
Note to self: weigh before kettle on, never after Grin

FatCatThinCat · 14/11/2020 12:25
Grin
WobbleWhenIRun · 14/11/2020 18:12

Woo Hoo!! well done @FatCatThinCat

If my weigh in tomorrow does not go to plan, I shall know to blame the kettle Grin

morningtoncrescent62 · 14/11/2020 19:19

Well done, @FatCatThinCat. It's so weird how idiosyncratic weighing oneself can be. But the trend for you is very definitely in the right direction - well done!

Today, for the first time since lockdown started, I went to KFC. I'm on my second weekend of maintenance fortnight, and weekends are TDEE + 500. I'm still on track for that today, even with a KFC two-piece variety meal. I had a fruit salad for breakfast, and a boiled egg with salad (no dressing) for tea, so all should be well. It felt strange to eat something so unhealthy but I'd be lying if I said that had put me off Grin.

WobbleWhenIRun · 15/11/2020 14:45

Week 26

Start weight: 276.8lbs
Current weight: 226lbs
Weight lost this week: 2lbs
Total weight lost: 50.8lbs

Next goals...

  1. Run 1 mile without stopping
  2. Get through Christmas without going backwards - staying the same is fine
  3. 50lbs lost - DONE!

2 more pounds this week. That'll do me nicely.

Aiming for 220lbs by 20th December and then to hold steady until first week of January, when I'll start up again.

morningtoncrescent62 · 15/11/2020 19:19

Woo-hoo, @WobbleWhenIRun, another goal ticked off! That's brilliant news from you, congratulations. Another 6lbs by 20th December sounds like a very sensible and achievable target. Enjoy the psychological boost of cracking the 50lb barrier because it's a MASSIVE ACHIEVEMENT.

TessTackle · 15/11/2020 19:57

Am I too late to join?

FatCatThinCat · 16/11/2020 07:47

Never too late to join. Welcome.

morningtoncrescent62 · 16/11/2020 12:41

Hello and welcome @TessTackle. Do feel free to jump in with however much detail you want to share - goals, eating plans, philosophy of life whatever. We're a very friendly and supportive bunch in here!

TessTackle · 16/11/2020 12:46

Thank you @FatCatThinCat and @morningtoncrescent62

Currently weighing in at 82.6 kg which is just over 13 stone. I’m 5’3 so this is unacceptable for me. Ideally I’d like to lose 3 stone but I’m being realistic, and aiming for just one by new year.

So far I’ve done 15k steps and 20k on my stationary bike, today’s aim is 50k on the bike and whatever other steps I can get in.

WobbleWhenIRun · 16/11/2020 13:44

Hi @TessTackle and welcome!

We're all taking slightly different approaches but respect that each has their own road to walk and just offer support and plenty of good cheers.

Thanks morningtoncrescent62 - tbh it's slightly surreal that I've passed the 50lbs mark. It feels like fatter me may have all been a bad dream... Grin

Still another 50lbs to go until I am about where I think I'd like to be - but, of course, there's no guarantee I'll get there or want to be there if I do. So long as I don't slide backwards, not just in weight but also the other healthier changes I've made.

One Xmas is done and dusted, I'm going to look to schedule regular maintenance breaks to help me understand that side of it a bit more. I know it sounds a bit odd, but I think learning to incorporate the occasional KFC (other takeaways are available) and not gain weight is actually pretty important to long term success so good on you for doing it Smile
