LOL I will take that into account next time I weight in. It may be worthy to wait till....

MushMonster · 25/08/2020 22:57

Still going. Done 1 hour gym today, cardio and weights. Walked back home (around 30 min). I am sitting on my arse at work, most likely all the week. Some days I walk around like crazy at work, others is all computer computer.
Sticking to 1000 cal or so meals, so far, but just two days gone this week. I have lots of walking to do with daughter both wednesday and thursday, so I hope that helps. Then I need to work quite a bit in the garden at the weekend.
I am hoping to forget the snacks this week!

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 26/08/2020 09:49

Got back from holiday yesterday, so did post holiday weigh in this morning. I gained a total of... 1lb over two weeks. Very relieved! Back to healthy eating, exercise and evening walks now.

My DDs went to an Aquapark on holiday... An inflatable obstacle course on a lake. They want me to go next year... So can I get fit enough to do that? I'll need to repeatedly haul myself out of the water. Other problem is that I don't like cold water. I've got a year to think of excuses...

Hope everyone is still doing well.

Blackbear19 · 26/08/2020 22:01

I'm still trying but floundering.Hmm

DH seems to be dropping the pounds without much effort and he doesn't even need to lose much. Or more to the point the effort is coming from me. Buying less junk.

However need to get back on the bandwagon. Ultimately I want to loose 3.5 Stone. The weight of one of my children. When I pick him up hes not actually that heavy, yet at the same time, 3.5 stone seems a massive amount to loose.

I think I need to set my first goal to drop half a stone. I'm not sure if it's worth trying slim fast or something to give my body a kick start.

fibeee · 27/08/2020 13:46

You can do it @Blackbear19. I’ve a similar amount to lose and like yourself I’m just breaking it into smaller goals.

Not a fan of meal replacement shakes myself as I think eating real food in a calorie deficit is the way to go for long term results. But if you think it would give you the quick boost you need to get going then go for it Smile

morningtoncrescent62 · 27/08/2020 21:02

I think I need to set my first goal to drop half a stone. I'm not sure if it's worth trying slim fast or something to give my body a kick start.

I tend to agree with @fibeee that if you want to take off a substantial amount of weight and keep it off, then a calorie deficit from actual meals is the best way. I've derailed myself far too often by trying to radically cut calories and then not being able to stick to it. This time I've worked out what calories I'd need to be 10 stone (which is the top end of healthy weight for me) and that's what I'm trying to eat. It's much slower than a more radical plan, but I hope it'll work in the long term.

Having said that, the psychological elements are absolutely key, and if a short, sharp burst of meal replacements would kick start you, then that's fine. You have to do what works for you. I do agree with setting interim targets, that's extremely important. 3.5 stone will look almost impossible. Half a stone sounds manageable.

fibeee · 28/08/2020 08:48

Weigh in day for me. I have just maintained which is deflating. But at least the scales are not going up!

Had an appointment with a post-natal physio this week. I had complications after my c-section 5 months ago and was terrified of exercising incase I made things worse. She thinks I’m healing up well now and gave me homework to do to strength my body again. So I feel a bit more confident about starting to do some exercise on top of walking now.

So a positive week on the whole!

Total weight loss - 5lb

FatCatThinCat · 28/08/2020 10:45

i've been for a walk around the block today, which is around 250 m. That's my exercise for the month done Grin

I want to try and do it every day but at the moment it's not feasible. I have mobility issues and walk with a frame so can only do it on good days. Hopefully good days will get more frequent as I lose weight.

Chocarocker · 29/08/2020 14:25

2nd weigh in this morning at slimming world and have lost 2.5lb according to their scales (was only 2lb on my scales) so happy with that. 7.5lb lost altogether so far.

PinkSparkleUnicorns · 29/08/2020 14:31

I need to loose 2 stone x

FatCatThinCat · 29/08/2020 15:57

Well done Chocarocker you must be well chuffed.

EsmeShelby · 29/08/2020 18:41

I've lost another pound. I am 5lb down from my starting weight. it just feels so SLOW. I'm trying to feel as pleased to be down as annoyed I would be if I was up 5lb, but it isn't really working

Grimmauldface · 30/08/2020 08:54

Morning All. After going AWOL from the thread for way too long and a major fall from the wagon, I am back and determined to forgive myself for the bad choices I made over the last couple of weeks and move on.

I've just caught up on the thread and want to say congrats to all those who have managed to stick with it and posted losses and hello to those who have joined. Just reading how everyone else is getting on makes me feel motivated again.

I'm not going to weigh myself today because I can feel that I have regained much of what I initially lost and it'll be too depressing but I will definitely be weighing next Sunday after what I'm hoping is a going to be a good week.

I will also get back to c25k. Apologies to @whiteroseredrose for never answering your question re running - no I am not a runner and never have been really. I am surprised by how much I enjoy it. I'm finding it physically tough as I'm so unfit and carrying the extra weight but mentally it's great. I love the time outside by myself away from all the stresses of work and endless to do list at home. I definitely recommend it to anyone thinking of giving it a go.

It's good to be back Grin

FatCatThinCat · 30/08/2020 09:01

1.3 kg (2.8 lb) loss for me this week. Looks like I might reach my 1st goal of 10 kg next week.

MushMonster · 30/08/2020 09:27

Hi all, well done to all sticking to the plan and well done to all the losses! We a0re getting closer and closer!
@Blackbear19 husbands always loose weight faster! And they look gorgeous and fit after skipping one steak with chips and going for a bike ride. We, women, have a longer work to do unfortunatelly. That is why I am trying to build some muscle up with weights and exercise. It is meant to be easier to maintain the weight we get with more muscle and it consumes much more energy.
@FatCatThinCat well done for your impresive loss! And for the exercise! You will feel better and better as you carry less weight around. I already feel my knees are starting to forgive me for the weight I made them to carry around. Have you thought about a little bike thing that you can use when you are sitting? Or light weights?
@fibeee good luck with the exercises after the C section!

I am 88.7 kg this morning, so a loss of 2.6 pounds for this week. I have just made it to the 13 stone mark!
I have started the bike training in the leisure centre! That is tough! Also weights in the gym. I need to work on my core this week as that bit seems to be thinner when I stand but looks the same when I sit down! I must have a thick layer of fat in there!
I am very happy! Back to the weight I was more than one year ago! Now, I need to loose another two stones

SansaClegane · 30/08/2020 11:23

Hey everyone! Some great losses this week!
Welcome back to Grimmauld - it's hard to get back going once you've dropped off the wagon, so well done for taking that step and trying again! Also FatCat impressive loss, but also that you are getting more active again - hopefully it will become easier for you!

My own weigh in:
Starting weight 14st 7lbs (29/6)
Last week 13st 2lbs (23/8)
Today 13st 0.2lbs

So I have just missed my goal for this week to lose 2lbs and get to 1 1/2 stone off, which is halfway to my intermediate goal. Which irks me a bit, but even so it's almost 2lbs down and I'm sure I'll get there next week!

notevenamum1 · 30/08/2020 17:43

Wow well done @SansaClegane that’s some really amazing weight loss! I started a week before you at 14st 2 but I’ve been stuck around 13st 5.5lbs for a while now. I’m really keen to get the first stone off. My weekly weigh in is tomorrow but I am on my period so not sure if I’ll have much luck.

Telling myself I need to keep going no matter how long it takes. My first Intermediate goal is to get to 11st 10lbs which is about a 2.5 stone loss which takes me to a healthy bmi for my height. It seems to far away!

notevenamum1 · 30/08/2020 17:45

@Aroundtheworldin80moves only 1lb gain in 2 weeks holiday deserves a medal!!

notevenamum1 · 30/08/2020 17:46

@FatCatThinCat amazing progress. 10kg is such a major amount to lose. It’s one of my mini milestones too. I am waiting to get there before trying on a pair of jeans I bought 3 days after I got married Grin they didn’t button up when I tried them on at the start!

notevenamum1 · 30/08/2020 17:48

@MushMonster 2.6lbs in a week is fantastic! Everyone is smashing it!!! Do you mind me asking what weight you started at? 11stone is also my final final dream goal weight which would be a 20kg loss for me in total (just over 3 stones)

MushMonster · 30/08/2020 20:27

I started at 98 kg

notevenamum1 · 30/08/2020 21:13

@MushMonster you’ve pretty much lost 10kg then - you must be delighted!

MushMonster · 30/08/2020 21:31

Yes almost there! My goal is 4 stones in total. So still a while to go.
I am going to the gym too, so I feel really on the mend to the healthy side of things!
A few months later and I may be able to cycle with my family.
I also want to learn to swim. I never learnt.
And to be able to do pull ups. I have never been able to lift my body with my arms. Not even when I was young and fit!0

MushMonster · 30/08/2020 21:32

I am still heavier than your starting point though. You are doing very well!

morningtoncrescent62 · 30/08/2020 23:31

@Grimmauldface it's lovely to see you back. @notevenamum1 I've always found that weight loss can be a bit unpredictable, with inexplicable plateaus along the way. That's why I've gone for monthly weigh-ins this time round (which I hope will be the last time as I really want to establish long-lasting habits and put an end to the yo-yo-ing).

Well done to all the losers. We're getting there. My moment of truth is tomorrow - last day of the month. I was on holiday for two weeks of August, so my goal for this month was to maintain at 12 stone 8, which is the same as the end of July. I'm reasonably confident - I over-ate on holiday but didn't go completely mad for the entire two weeks, and I've been back on it since I came back over a week ago.
