Morning all! How is it July!

Welcome to the July lose 7lbs thread. All are welcome to join whether you are a regular, lurker, oldie, newbie, or a proper old timer like me 😂

All we ask for is the amazing support and positivity that I've seen in every single one of these threads so far. Last months thread is here June thread - lose 7lbs/3kg per month http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3925539-June-thread-lose-7lbs-3kg-per-month

Stats for me are:
Start weight (Dec 2018) 25 st 2lbs
Current weight: 17st 6lbs
Loss for June : 3lbs (boo 😳)
Total loss so far: 7st 10lbs

Would love to get into the 16s this month! I'm following WW green plan, I eat mainly plant based with a little dairy/cheese/gin thrown in. My aim this month is more plants and less gin 😂

Plan for today is OMAD - grapefruit segments to snack on throughout the morning and then a pea and mint risotto for dinner with side salad.

Have a fabulous 1st July everyone!

Morning all. Today is my weigh day.
Last week 11 st 11.5lbs
Today 11st 10lbs
Yippee! I've done it at long last! 11st 10lbs is the very top of healthy BMI for my height. It's taken me 28 weeks of Keto to lose just over 2 and a half stone but I got there in the end. I've promised myself toast by way of a celebration. I'm going to try to keep going until the end of the month to see if I can drop a tiny bit more. Is it O.K. for me to stick around? [I'm just afraid to leave you all in case I go off the rails.]
@WhatALearningCurve you look amazing and properly skinny now! @GetTheStartyParted 50lbs! Good grief I'd be chuffed to bits with that - what is your goal?
@Cricketmum84 I'm sorry you still feel rough and hope you will feel better soon. I've just been handed a massive, massive project which will mean a lot of very long days for me so I might be a bit MIA this week. Have a good day all.

Shedtheload · 13/07/2020 11:30

recklessgran that’s amazing!!! Can’t wait until I am where you are now and can see the number starting with 11 (having started with it saying 14 something). You have done so well.

GetTheStartyParted · 13/07/2020 11:49

Yay @recklessgran Star well done, I'm so pleased for you! Enjoy your celebratory toast.

I initially said I wanted to lost 90 total, but I look slimmer at a higher weight this time round, for some reason. In this photo I weigh the same and I think my face looks much slimmer now (I'm also 5 years older and make-up free). I need to lose 26lbs more to be in the healthy BMI range Blush I'm still 2lb away from being only overweight. Guess I will keep evaluating it as I get closer.

On the naughty step, massive fail yesterday. Had 2 friends round for a garden cuppa but DH had bought loads of goodies to go with it. I had a pork pie, a Tunnock's tea cake and 4!! slices of carrot cake (First cake I've had since VE day and they were small slices - I know, excuses, excuses). Despite that, I've only put on 1.6lbs today, I expected it to be more. Back on the straight and narrow today. I've decided to weigh every day during July and I'm doing a graph so I can see how much weight fluctuates day by day, so big peak today.

JessJonesJumps · 13/07/2020 16:10

@recklessgran you've reached a healthy weight! Congratulations! That's a brilliant achievement Star and Flowers for you. I have ages to go before I get there.
I'm still in the 11s but realised this morning that with all this to-ing and fro-ing, I'm just the same weight I was at the start of the month Hmm
@WhatALearningCurve and @GetTheStartyParted you both look fab!

MoonNoodles · 13/07/2020 17:36

Yay! Congrats @recklessgran that is awesome! You should totally stick around. Reading your posts is super helpful. Plus you are lovely!

I am going to weigh on wednesday as that was when I did the last 2 weeks so will weigh and update then.

peanutbutterdog · 13/07/2020 19:03

Congrats recklessgran, thats fantastic - I am trying so hard to be 11st anything!! And Ecci, you are very controlled - 4 small slices is nothing. Besides, it has carrots in it which is one of your 5 a day.

riotlady · 13/07/2020 20:07

Congrats @recklessgran!!

I’ve been low on time recently cos of uni and work so managed to find a 40% off gousto voucher and ordered some healthy meals, hopefully that’ll make this week easier going

timeforabrandnewnameagain · 13/07/2020 23:31

I've name changed, but anyway I didn't check in last week as I had gained 1lb Blush I've been terrible now I'm closer to my goal weight. It's hard to keep going, but I had one good day and one good day help and hopefully that will be 7 good days next week ! Struggling with cake due to birthdays. I love cake now.

Will weigh in tomorrow as Monday seems a good say to weigh, but damn it's Tuesday tomorrow. Ok I'll stick with Thursday weigh in's, give myself a chance.

NerrSnerr · 14/07/2020 06:48

Hello everyone.

@whatalearningcurve you look amazing. What an amazing weight loss. Congratulations @recklessgran- I hope you stay with us, I enjoy seeing your posts.

I wasn't well yesterday so ate far too much but back on it today. I had a temp and cough so needed to be swabbed but luckily came back Covid negative so the children can go back to school/ nursery. We keep getting temperatures in our family so feels like we're in and out of self isolation.

I haven't weighed in 2 days but will tomorrow after a good day today.

muddledmidget · 14/07/2020 07:55

I weighed in this morning after forgetting last week and I'm down 2.5lbs so far for the month.

Which put me into the 11st bracket and also down into the 27.something for my BMI which has made me stupidly happy for such a small loss!

Goal for this week is another 2lb

WhatALearningCurve · 14/07/2020 11:17

Thank you to all you lovely folk!

@getthestartyparted I'm incredibly jealous your face looks like that when you're classed as "obese". Your cheekbones are insane.

I was 10 9.5 yesterday and 10 8.5 this morning so I think yesterday was bloat because I was around 10 8.5 over the weekend. I'm really hoping I drop below 10 6.5 next week as that would put me in the healthy bracket for the first time ever.

I've got a uni assignment in tomorrow which I've been awful about and not even started. Thankfully its not a huge one so a solid couple of hours on it tonight should scrape me a pass however that's a prime grazing environment. I think I'm going to have a small baked sweet potato for tea so that I can use my calories on various small snacks to fill the grazing crave

Bella444 · 14/07/2020 11:54

Well done everyone. I'm still hovering around 12 stone so hopefully I will hit 11st13lb by the end of the week, fingers crossed!

SultanasofPing · 14/07/2020 15:21

@cricketmum84 hope you're feeling better xx
@WhatALearningCurve look fab - we'll done
@GetTheStartyParted wow am in awe
And @recklessgran well done
You are all inspirational!!! So impressed and hoping it rubs off 😊
Lost 1.5lb this week so another 1.5 would get me to 1 stone off since beginning of June (3 stone to go)

GetTheStartyParted · 14/07/2020 15:39

Thanks @WhatALearningCurve I have always had a round face so its quite novel having cheekbones Grin Good luck with your uni assignment.

@SultanasofPing thank you Smile your loss is brilliant - you'll reach that stone in no time!

I've been positively angelic today Halo I visited my sister and niece, for a catch up in the garden. My mum treated everyone to McDonald's and cakes from the local bakery. I took a chicken tikka salad and drank lots of green tea, not even a bite of the cake my mum got me - I have donated it to DS Grin Leftover keto seafood pie with broccoli for dinner.

JessJonesJumps · 14/07/2020 16:25

Weight slightly down today.
@recklessgran you need to stay with us! And inspire us with your maintaining and entertain us with your stories of your days out and your lovely family Flowers

EmmaSussex · 14/07/2020 16:29

Hello, can I join in please? Have read the thread and you’ve all done so well with your weight losses.
I started yesterday, currently 14 1/2 stone and have ~4 stone to lose for a healthy BMI

cricketmum84 · 14/07/2020 17:00

Sorry guys I'm still here I promise! Just having an incredibly busy few workdays and still not feeling quite myself. Also feeling frustrated that we were meant to be off for 2 weeks in the sun on Saturday which obviously isn't happening now.

Weigh day tomorrow eek! Hoping the course of steroids hasn't bumped me up.

Brilliant work @GetTheStartyParted and I love the weekly diagram, it really shows how a steady healthy loss can be sustainable! You are so restrained donating the cake to DS!

@recklessgran yay that's excellent news! Yes please do stick around!

@Ecci I have got serious carrot cake cravings!!

Welcome @EmmaSussex :)

Blimey. Thanks all for your lovely comments. Made me feel a bit teary you know. This thread is like having coffee with a lovely big bunch of non - judgmental mates. Thanks guys. Oh, and welcome @EmmaSussex we're all happy to shove up so you can join us - I'm sure you'll be really happy here and @Cricketmum84 our lovely, wise leader will be along soon to say Hi!
Well, I've no business being here at the moment given that I'm supposed to be working but just updating you that I spent yesterday on the naughty step with my toast and marmite and some shortbread Christmas trees that were lurking in DD1's kitchen cupboard. I brought them back here before they went out of date, She's not going to eat them she tells me as she likes jammie dodgers better. There's a lesson right there isn't there? Only eat the things you love!! Gotta love DD1 - she's so straight forward in a kind of way.
Anyway, I've decided that I just need to plod on and try to drop another couple of pounds just to give myself a safety net. In order to maintain I think I need to change my journal to just noting down my daily weight and also anything non keto I eat or drink. I think that will be best for keeping myself on track. I can really only allow myself a small carb intake a day otherwise I shall be back to 14st odd in no time. I have at least learnt that 1 slice of toast and marmite does actually satisfy my craving - I used to have 2 or even 4 slices before! That's progress in itself.
Hope everyone is O.K. catch you all soon.

GetTheStartyParted · 14/07/2020 17:18

@Cricketmum84 thank you. Sending you positive vibes for your weigh in.

@recklessgran I don't think it was the naughty step this time, it was a celebration to recognise your achievement! Your plan for maintaining sounds good.

@Bella444 hope you get into the 11s shortly Smile

Welcome @EmmaSussex

MonicaBingaling · 14/07/2020 19:41

Welcome @EmmaSussex xx

MoonNoodles · 15/07/2020 09:42

Welcome @EmmaSussex

Thats grand @recklessgran just 1 slice isn't too bad either.

Today is weigh in day for me. I am down 1.5lbs which makes me happy! About to go workout now.

cricketmum84 · 15/07/2020 18:40

So annoyed!! Just written a long post and lost it before I posted it!!

Weight is 17.5 so serious concerted effort needed now for the rest of the month.

No idea what to do for dinner. DH and DC are having beige freezer food, I have no appetite at the moment and just can't think of anything I fancy although do have a fridge full of fruit and veg. I think I need to get organised earlier in the day for evening meals so I'm prepped before I lose interest.

Anyone else have days where they just don't want food??

OP posts:
WhatALearningCurve · 15/07/2020 19:30

@cricketmum84 I'm having that today. I ate A LOT of sweets for my lunch - I was craving fruit pastels all morning so went to get a pack but they only had the share size bags. Ate about half of that! They've been allocated into my calories so I'm not that fussed but all the sugar has made me feel bloated and bleugh.

That combined with being up till 3am finishing the assignment and being up at 7 for work means I just want to go to bed now but I know I've not eaten enough and my body will hold on to fat.

Waiting for a wholemeal thin to defrost then whacking some potato waffles in the toaster. Incredibly quick, easy and beige 🤣🤣

Onesmallstep67 · 16/07/2020 10:07

Morning everyone.
Bit late with the congratulations but well done @recklessgran, so glad that you have reached target weight.
@GetTheStartyParted and @WhatALearningCurve, fantastic achievements and progress, well done Star
I have decided to have a break from 'dieting' as such and instead I am trying to eat sensibly but without mentally beating myself up about eating the 'wrong' things. Helped a little by my TOTM arriving I am STS and actually in some ways eating less.
@Cricketmum84, I hope you are finally feeling a bit better. And please don't give yourself a hard time ( unless that is what works for you ?!) Never forget what an amazing and consistent effort you have made since your weight loss journey began.
