Morning all! How is it July!

Welcome to the July lose 7lbs thread. All are welcome to join whether you are a regular, lurker, oldie, newbie, or a proper old timer like me 😂

All we ask for is the amazing support and positivity that I've seen in every single one of these threads so far. Last months thread is here June thread - lose 7lbs/3kg per month http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3925539-June-thread-lose-7lbs-3kg-per-month

Stats for me are:
Start weight (Dec 2018) 25 st 2lbs
Current weight: 17st 6lbs
Loss for June : 3lbs (boo 😳)
Total loss so far: 7st 10lbs

Would love to get into the 16s this month! I'm following WW green plan, I eat mainly plant based with a little dairy/cheese/gin thrown in. My aim this month is more plants and less gin 😂

Plan for today is OMAD - grapefruit segments to snack on throughout the morning and then a pea and mint risotto for dinner with side salad.

Have a fabulous 1st July everyone!

Morning all and happy Sunday! Well I say happy Sunday... I have a massive spreadsheet I need to complete and submit by tonight so I'm stressed out and feeling Ranty lol!

Still 17.4 today but hoping for some movement in the next few days. OMAD again today. Newly veggie DD has asked for a macaroni cheese bake with vegan chorizo. I have agreed as long as she has salad with it (she is the worst salad hater ever) so I will be having a small portion but with loads of salad to fill me up.

Right I had beat crack on as I would quite like to sit out for a little bit this afternoon but need to get this work done first!

Have a lovely day everyone!

Thanks everyone! I’ve been having a more relaxed weekend and had some pasta and a bit of dark choc last night whilst Chilling watching a movie which was a nice treat! But I won’t be weighing myself until the carb bloat is gone! I’ll try not to weigh myself until next week but it’s so hard to resist weighing myself everyday!

@Cricketmum84 love your lippy so glam! Quesadillas sound so good I might have to make some soon now yummy!

@Bella444 you will get there, just keep going you are doing great!

@Shedtheload I didn’t think of that! I only ever use pounds, I will have to use the others now hehe

@recklessgran I hope you had a lovely day with your family, and enjoyed your walk!

@GetTheStartyParted well done on the 2lbs, and your total loss is amazing such an inspiration!

@WhatALearningCurve you might find the 0.25 comes off after your period as it could be water, hope u had a nice pub tea and a good walk

GetTheStartyParted · 19/07/2020 13:40

@Cricketmum84 Good afternoon. I hope your day goes better than you expect abd that you get to enjoy the sun!

@MonicaBingaling Thank you Smile I have the same problem with weighing myself too. I weigh myself most days but only count it once a week so ignore any fluctuations throughout.

I had a beautiful 3 course meal last night so have refused to weigh myself today Grin It was worth it, we had a lovely night.

I'm spending today help DH build a wall in the garden Confused just having our lunch break. Cucumber, cheese and a few nuts for me. Looking forward to beef brisket and cauliflower cheese later.

recklessgran · 19/07/2020 21:27

Evening all. Well I've sort of had the week off from dieting which has resulted in a 3 pound gain - I've eaten toast and/or chips every day . Right, clearly I need to get back on it then. There obviously is no place in my life for carbs. Ever. I've got that straight in my head now I think. Just got to stick to the rules.
Was great to see DD4 yesterday - she's starting on plastic surgery at the beginning of next month so probably won't see her for a month or so whilst she gives it her all. I admire her so much and hope she's happy in her new post.
DGD2 was a little monkey yesterday but we took her for a walk along the canal and had a little boat trip up to the tunnel and back [socially distanced - only 3 families allowed on at a time.] She really enjoyed this but her and I had a battle of wills about her keeping her arms inside the boat. She cracked me up with her "Granny, why are you CONSTANTLY saying 'keep your arms in' to me?" [I think constantly is her new word of the moment.] Honestly, she's like a blinking teenager! We had such a lot of fun though but the best bit of all is that DD2 had a lovely day and enjoyed the rest. She definitely deserved it - I was on my knees after just 10 hours. Hats off to all of you on here who are coping with children as well as work and everything else.
We finally got DD1 home to her bungalow after dinner today. Hopefully she'll be there until Thursday when we'll bring her home again until Sunday night. Everything crossed that she'll be O.K. as she hasn't been having to cope on her own since we brought her to us in March. Her carer will be there at 10.00am tomorrow so fingers crossed she'll be fine until then. Phew feel like we might be getting a bit of normality back. I've been feeling frazzled lately if I'm honest and DH is particularly grumpy which is most unusual for him. I am biting my tongue whilst eyeing up the patio and thinking that I married Victor bloody Meldrew! Strange times but trying to remain grateful for my lovely life.
@GetTheStartyParted I'm so glad you enjoyed your special evening.

Howmanysleepsnow · 19/07/2020 21:35

So, another lb off today but got takeaway with dh and dc tonight so I expect it’ll be back on tonight!
I’ve got a busy week coming up with night shifts so hopefully the extra walking and lack of time to sleep will get me back on track!

Howmanysleepsnow · 19/07/2020 21:36

@recklessgran your relationship with your DDs sounds amazing. I hope I have that with my dc when they’re older.

GetTheStartyParted · 19/07/2020 22:20

@recklessgran Thank you Smile It sounds like you have had a wonderful, and busy, weekend. I hope you manage to find the right balance for your diet, the thought of no carbs ever feels so sad from a fellow ketoer! Wink Your family sounds so close and loving, you must be proud.

@Howmanysleepsnow Well done for the pound loss, I hope you enjoyed your takeaway - it feels worth the gain at least then! I'm hiding from the scales until I think i have undone the damage of my meal out Grin

I forgot to tell you all the funniest thing - my shoes were too big last night! I must have lost weight on my feet Confused I wore ankle boots, with 2 pairs of socks over my tights, to stop them from slipping around Grin very strange.

cricketmum84 · 20/07/2020 08:06

Morning all and happy Monday!!

Down to 17.3 this morning. I SO want to see the 16s this month! I'm also just one teeny tiny pound away from a total 8 stone loss so far!

Promised the kids a lunchtime Uber eats McDonald's and I think I'm going to treat myself to a small chocolate milkshake. Haven't had anything like that for ages! I won't be ordering any food though as I can't stand their vegetarian offerings.

Dinner tonight is ricotta and spinach tortellini (the only way I can get spinach into DD2) with a lovely basil and garlic tomato sauce, small portion for me with plenty of salad on the side as this seems to be working for me at the moment!

It's also fruit and veg delivery day! Whoop! New veggie DD picked out a lot of the stuff so we have some parsnips coming to make baked parsnip crisps, plenty of fruit like mandarins, nectarines and a pineapple plus some raw yorkshire honey.

Best crack on with work! Can't wait until this project is finished so I can take a few days off!

Howmanysleepsnow · 20/07/2020 08:09

@GetTheStartyParted wow, that’s some all over weight loss! I wouldn’t have even thought that possible Grin Well done though! The takeaway was gorgeous and would’ve been worth the return of yesterday’s lb but by some miracle I’ve stayed the same so it’s all good.
Agree @recklessgran that doesn’t sound fun re no carbs ever, surely a couple of days a week wouldn’t hurt (would it?)

Howmanysleepsnow · 20/07/2020 08:12

@Cricketmum84 that’s an amazing loss, you should be so proud of yourself. Enjoy your milkshake.

GetTheStartyParted · 20/07/2020 08:24

@Howmanysleepsnow ah, that's good. I know, I didn't realise my feet needed to lose weight Grin

@Cricketmum84 you're so amazing - what a loss. Enjoy your milkshake. Your veggie box always sounds so nice. I do miss fruit, on keto I can only eat berries sparingly, nothing else.

cricketmum84 · 20/07/2020 08:51

@GetTheStartyParted I would totally do Keto if I wasn't veggie, but I've worked out that it's just too difficult on a vegetarian diet. Most meat replacements have a high carb content especially my go to's like lentils and chickpeas. I try not to have a lot of dairy and use a lot of dairy free and am slowly becoming more averse to eating eggs so I would literally have nothing to eat 🤣

Shedtheload · 20/07/2020 09:00

Wow, 8 stone cricketmum. That’s a person. You will have lost a whole (skinny) person. That’s unbelievable.
Getthepartystarted interesting about the shoe size. I swear I used to be about six and a half but when I put on weight I was struggling to squash into size 7. Have worn nothing but trainers since March so not sure what size I am at the moment but I won’t complain if my feet are slightly smaller.

recklessgran · 20/07/2020 09:19

Morning all. Today is my weigh day.
Last week; 11st 10lbs [Initial goal weight]
Today 11st 12lbs
I'm resetting my goal to 11st 8lbs to give me a 2lb leeway going forward.
So, 4lbs to go. On past performance I'll be here until the end of August trying to achieve that ladies.
@Cricketmum84 I do hope you're going to celebrate once you've lost that pound to make 8 stone. Eight stone - goodness how I've struggled with my 2 and a half - you are seriously hard core. Awesome. I love Mondays and hearing about your veg box it always looks amazing to be - even the way it's arranged in the box is wholesome looking.
@Howmanysleepsnow and @GetTheStartyParted thank you for your compliments. They mean so much to me. There is a massive back story involving awful abusive childhood for me and no role model for parenting. Just did the exact opposite to what was done to me - seems to have worked. Making my own large happy family has been the most rewarding and healing thing for me. Yes, I am proud of all my girls - they are high achievers all in their own ways but they are all lovely, gentle and kind and that it what I'm most proud of. Thank you..
Have a good day all.

recklessgran · 20/07/2020 09:27

Oh sorry, forgot about the shoes. Yes, actually I think there might be something in it. I didn't actually notice but that's because I wear toe posts mainly but now you mention it I did wear a pair of black courts recently and noticed they were slipping at the heel and felt too wide - I just thought the leather had given but I prefer your theory that my feet have developed a shapely figure of their own! Brilliant that is.

WhatALearningCurve · 20/07/2020 12:07

Morning all.

That shifty 0.25 hasn't gone so this weeks weigh in we an irritant this morning.

10 stone 6.25 so it was still a 3lb loss which I know is a a really good loss but I just really wanted to hit healthy BMI on a Monday because in my head it doesn't count any other day ha.

I'm just being pedantic I'm aware.

Currently out for a walk. Spent the morning doing job applications and little mans in nursery today SO I'm going to go to the gym this afternoon.

Last year on a failed weight loss attempt I joined the gym and paid a year upfront. Went for about 2 months and that was it. When lockdown happened I had a month left on it so it's been extended now they're reopened.

I'm actually quite excited to go but if you'd have told me at the start of lockdown I'd be going to the gym the first day they reopened id think you were on some heavy drugs 🤣

WhatALearningCurve · 20/07/2020 12:11

Bugger. I'm not going to the gym. Just re read the info. It's the 25th not the 20th they're reopening!

Oh well. Best laid plans and all that haha

SultanasofPing · 20/07/2020 14:16

Woo hoo - have lost a stone (in total obvs not this week 😂) that's since 1st June
Right onwards and downwards lol

cricketmum84 · 20/07/2020 15:49

@recklessgran it's here! Whoop! Am about to pounce on those nectarines!

@Cricketmum84 soooo classy!

recklessgran · 20/07/2020 16:05

Actually @Cricketmum84 please can you chuck me down those parsnips? I've got a chicken roasting in the oven.... it was meant for yesterday's roast but didn't quite make it that far what with trying to get DD1 home etc. Her carer phoned to say she'd already had a hot cross bun and some toast by the time she arrived this morning. Guess it looks as though she's O.K. then!
I'm making a keto cauliflower cheese to go with it for me and DH can have all the other stuff - Yorkshire, roasties, stuffing etc. Lucky him!

recklessgran · 20/07/2020 16:07

@SultanasofPing that's brilliant - a stone already? Crumbs! Well done to you!

NerrSnerr · 20/07/2020 19:34

Just checking in as I have been quiet. I'm still maintaining which is better than nothing. Visiting family for half of next week so won't be much dieting (it's quite a tricky visit and the person I'm staying with doesn't cook so I'll be having to sort myself and my children out so I imagine there will be a few trips to McDonalds- even if it's to get out of the house for the drive). Once that's over I will properly knuckle down.

On the plus side I have booked some spinning and yoga classes this weekend as my gym is reopening.

Bella444 · 21/07/2020 07:19

YES!!!!!!

11st 13 & 3/4 Grin

After around 3 weeks of bobbing between 12.0 and 12.3 and feeling like I was doing everything right but still not losing, I finally make it into the 11's.

So happy! Just another stone to go ConfusedGrin

Bella444 · 21/07/2020 07:20

@cricketmum84 wow 8 stone is amazing big! Kudos to you Smile
