Morning all! How is it July!

Welcome to the July lose 7lbs thread. All are welcome to join whether you are a regular, lurker, oldie, newbie, or a proper old timer like me 😂

All we ask for is the amazing support and positivity that I've seen in every single one of these threads so far. Last months thread is here June thread - lose 7lbs/3kg per month http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3925539-June-thread-lose-7lbs-3kg-per-month

Stats for me are:
Start weight (Dec 2018) 25 st 2lbs
Current weight: 17st 6lbs
Loss for June : 3lbs (boo 😳)
Total loss so far: 7st 10lbs

Would love to get into the 16s this month! I'm following WW green plan, I eat mainly plant based with a little dairy/cheese/gin thrown in. My aim this month is more plants and less gin 😂

Plan for today is OMAD - grapefruit segments to snack on throughout the morning and then a pea and mint risotto for dinner with side salad.

Have a fabulous 1st July everyone!

Such a busy thread!
Welcome @yorkshirecountrylass ! Your holiday plans sound fab and a great motivator.
@GetTheStartyParted Flowers it must be hard to be away from DS but I'm glad you have lots to distract you this weekend.
@Cricketmum84 I love the colours of the dress. I had one in similar colours from one of the vintage dress companies.
@TheStirrer I'm so sorry about your DF. Be kind to yourself and try to take some time for you. It's so difficult and draining Flowers

Weight here is slightly down. I did yoga again this morning but hope to get out for a walk later. I'm feeling a bit stir-crazy although I did have a lovely Zoom lunch with my friend earlier. I just ate mini afternoon tea cakes but catching up with her is a lovely bit of normality.

GetTheStartyParted · 17/07/2020 20:14

Sorry @TheStirrer Flowers to echo PP's, definitely be kind to yourself.

Thanks @JessJonesJumps and your afternoon tea sounds good, a nice catch up with a friend is priceless.

I decided on the duck for dinner, it was so good.

Hi all, I am 1.5lbs down this week to 12st 9.5lbs. Feel very bloated at the moment - not sure if it's hormonal (I'm 48) or if it's low carb. Will keep on plugging away for another 2.5lbs this month anyhow.

cricketmum that is a fab looking dress.
shedtheload I feel the same when I look in the mirror, although I've lost quite a good amount of weight, I feel like I look the same but I can't do because people are noticing I'm dropping weight.
yorkshirecountrylass this is the place to be - I've been reading everyone in this thread since January of this year and found people's personal stories very inspirational to help me.

Shedtheload · 18/07/2020 05:36

TheStirrer Flowers so sorry to hear that. It must be so stressful for you and I echo what others have said about being kind to yourself.

MonicaBingaling · 18/07/2020 07:23

Morning everyone! Sooo something exciting has happened today..... I have finally scraped into the 9’s!!!!!!

I’m only just there (9st 13 and a quarter)
But...

I’m there!!!! Feeling quite proud of myself as it’s been a really hard week and I’ve felt like giving up a few time’s!

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend x

Shedtheload · 18/07/2020 07:55

Wow Monica that’s amazing! Well done. I love that feeling of dropping down a stone bracket even if only by a tiny bit. I purposely calculate my weight in kilos, stones AND pounds so that I can get more milestones out of it Wink

Bella444 · 18/07/2020 08:01

AAARGGHHH! I just can't get past 12 stone! So frustrating. I feel like I'm doing everything right so I tried to mix things up a little this week. I'm still following IF and had two days of cals about 1800 but the other five were at 1000-1200. My TDEE is 1750 cals.

I'm going to have to exercise, aren't I?! I'm on furlough so I've been fairly lazy whereas normally I'm pretty active.

Sigh. It just makes me want to pack in all in and have a binge day.

(Vent over, thank you).

Bella444 · 18/07/2020 08:02

@MonicaBingaling well done!

WhatALearningCurve · 18/07/2020 08:22

@MonicaBingaling congratulations!

I'm finally on my period (two weeks late) and every symptom feels in overdrive so I'm once again walking round feeling like a human potato.

However. Just weighed myself and I'm 10 st 6.25. 0.25lb above healthy BMI! Im really hoping I can shift that 0.25 by Monday.

Today I'm going to go on a walk with my son before he goes to his dads - he'll nap in the pram so I can go at a good pace. Then tonight I'm going for a pub tea with some friends and a few drinks which could become a hurdle but the pubs a 5 min drive or a 40 min walk so as long as it's not raining I'm going to walk there (I never ever thought I'd be a person who walked places out of choice ha). Might also walk back but that depends on the time and how many drinks we've had. I'm keen to shift the 0.25lb but not keen enough to get mugged ha

Bella444 · 18/07/2020 08:25

@WhatALearningCurve that's a great milestone, well done!

GetTheStartyParted · 18/07/2020 08:32

@MonicaBingaling amazing, well done!

@WhatALearningCurve I'm sure you will lose that last tiny bit - how exciting!

@Bella444 I hope things start working for you soon, KOKO.

I usually weigh in on a Monday but as I'm going to a restaurant tonight I'm cheating, weighing in today and then waiting until the following Monday for my next one Grin

This week I have lost 2lbs and I am finally not obese! Woohoo, I'm overweight Grin

3st10 lost in total. Another 23lbs needed to be healthy.

Enjoy your weekend everyone.

Howmanysleepsnow · 18/07/2020 10:05

Just weighed in and I’m down to 10st 5lb. So after sticking at 10st 8lb for 2 weeks I’m down 3lb in 2 days. Fingers crossed it stays off and I manage to keep losing. I had hoped to be under 10st by the end of the month but as that’s looking unlikely now I’ll be happy with any continued loss!

recklessgran · 18/07/2020 10:18

Morning all. @Cricketmum84 that's a pretty dress and I bet you felt great in it. Makeup? Crumbs it's been a long time - you're really making me think I need to glam up a bit. Thanks for the kick up the doo da!. @Bella444 don't give in. I was stuck at 12 stone for what felt like ages. I truly think one's body objects. You will get there if you just hang on for a bit longer. @MonicaBingaling blimey, well done that's amazing and you have every right to be proud, you must be properly skinny now. @GetTheStartyParted you have lost a phenomenal amount of weight - I'm in awe of you girls on here with your massive, massive losses. Well done all.
Today DD4 is popping home for a flying visit and we are also having DGD [2 going on 22.] She is a mighty handful at the moment but we utterly adore her. Hoping DD2 can have a proper break - she definitely deserves a lovely day to herself. Will be going for a long walk in the hope of tiring the little darling out for her mummy! Have a good day all.

cricketmum84 · 18/07/2020 13:14

Happy weekend everyone!! Today I am practising self care and self love and have full on glammed myself up with new lipstick and my new (size 16!!!!) play suit!! Little glam pic below for you!

Plan for today is OMAD - me and DD are making veggie quesadillas for everyone with mixed beans and sweetcorn and sweet potato crispy slices. Might have an apple or some strawberries to put me on but don't want to ruin the lippy 😂

@recklessgran hope you have a lovely day with the family 😍

Fantastic loss @Howmanysleepsnow huge well done!!

@GetTheStartyParted eek that must be such a good feeling! Can't wait until I get there!

@WhatALearningCurve also bloody amazing! I'm so impressed with your progress. Have a lovely time at the pub!!

@Bella444 we all need a bit of a rant lol! What about upping your step target and trying to walk a bit more each day? I'm not a huge exercise fan either 😂

@MonicaBingaling YASSSS love the feeling of breaking a stone barrier!

@TheStirrer take care of yourself ❤️ sending love to both you and your dad.

@NerrSnerr we got this!! 👊

@Cricketmum84 you look lovely, definitely worth making time for self care. Enjoy your quesadillas, they sound good.

Please come and do my makeup for my meal out tonight? I'm not very good at it Grin I have finally decided what dress to wear after sending multiple options to our family group for some honest opinions!

cricketmum84 · 18/07/2020 16:05

Just seen your post on insta @GetTheStartyParted! Which one did you go for in the end? They all looked gorgeous but I think my favourite is the middle, it really pulls your waist in x

GetTheStartyParted · 18/07/2020 16:27

Thank you. I have decided on that one! Its very comfy too, win win Wink Table is booked for 6pm, so excited.

DS2 is tagging along as he would be home alone otherwise. He has been talking about it all day. I think he has missed eating out.

GetTheStartyParted · 18/07/2020 16:36

@Cricketmum84 let me know who you are on Insta please, I'm terrible at following back (if you're following me). DM me if you don't want it 'out there'.

cricketmum84 · 18/07/2020 16:42

Just commented on your insta @GetTheStartyParted with a mysterious comment 😂

Just posting to remind myself: any weight gain tomorrow is my fault! I’ve eaten 200cal more today than the last 3 days and done 150 cal less walking.
Any tips on how to not become complacent when I see a loss welcome! I have a pathetically slow metabolism and anything over 1000 results in weight gain, but toasted cranberry pannetone was too tempting.

NoMoreJunk · 19/07/2020 01:06

Stats for me are:

Start weight 117 kg
Current weight: 115 kg
Total loss so far: 2 kg in two weeks

Only just started the diet 2 weeks ago

I'm mostly doing the 18:6 diet, as hardly ever hingry in the mornings and i do about 40 minutes every day of the dvd Michelle McMann (The life plan Workout)

NoMoreJunk · 19/07/2020 01:10

I also use the app "My fitness pal"
Its very good.
You put in your current weight, height, sex, the weight you want to be and how much you want to ideally lose a week and it will calculate how many calories you need to eat a day.
You can put in the exact food you eat, It has everything on there, calories, fat, sugar, etc, It lets you put everything on there, it has a database of all foods and drinks from all shops, and tells you how many calories you have left in that day among your targets of things like carbs etc.

I find it very useful..

NoMoreJunk · 19/07/2020 01:13

#McManus.... Not McMann

WhatALearningCurve · 19/07/2020 08:25

@Howmanysleepsnow dont beat yourself up over 200 calories! That's not going to do anything.

You have to over eat by 3000 calories to gain a lb of fat, and when you look at the week as a whole. Even with a slow metabolism - if you're in a deficit every day - 200 calories one day has probably been burned off on another day.

Don't be disheartened. It definitely helps me to look at the week as a whole when I've had a less strict day.

@NoMoreJunk I'm a huge fan of MyFitnessPal. I love the weight prediction it - it's a huge motivator
