Scales are steady still. They will budge one of these days.

Ds was determined I make my fried rice last night so gave him the lions share and had a little portion. That was it for food but a couple of drinks also.

In non scales news I have managed to boost my metabolism. My initial goal for the number of calories burned (according to Fitbit) May need to be put up a bit.

Hope the scale fairies are kind to those weighing in today

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 23/06/2020 08:27

Thanks @TheHoneyBadger! I went for a walk and drank a lot of no cal juice rather than tea, plus bed before 11 and made it through.
Now having some lovely breakfast which I am appreciating more than normal.
I weighed in this morning as I needed the win and I've lost 1.5 lbs, so down to a new low, which is great as I'm likely to be bouncing back up a bit today.
Were setting up a pub garden in our shielded friend's front garden and she can join from through the window. I may drink beer from a proper pint glass, and have some of the baking my other mate has got really into over lockdown.
Hope you all have a good day, it's going to be beautiful weather here.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 23/06/2020 09:08

I've stayed the same this week. I made a few errors yesterday which explains it - I ran 10km Sunday and Monday, and I sat in the sun yesterday. Big mistake, it stimulates my immune system and makes me flare, and swell. Factor 50 and a seat in the shade for next few days I think.

B sausage omelette
L mackerel salad, rice cakes
D not sure yet.. Monstera has intrigued me with Huevos Rotos

Heygirlheyboy · 23/06/2020 10:22

I am finding Jordan Syatt great to reassure re not overdoing the deficit and having a slow loss. I would do anything to be back where I was early March Sad but I'll have to keep slow, steady, and forgiving of myself!!

MonsteraCheeseplant · 23/06/2020 10:25

I am a huge fan of Huevos Rotos, a big bowl of potatoes and chorizo for under 500 cals.

OP posts:
Heygirlheyboy · 23/06/2020 10:28

Yum yum, do you have a recipe monster?

MonsteraCheeseplant · 23/06/2020 12:05

Sure, here it is I halve it for 2 portions so using 500g potatoes and 75g of Chorizo as the full amount was just too much. The hot sauce is a must. Sometimes I add mushrooms or peppers.

OP posts:
MonsteraCheeseplant · 23/06/2020 12:20

Oh, and it's only gonna be as good as your chorizo. The sweet, non spicy stuff isn't a strong enough flavour for us personally.

Octopus37 · 23/06/2020 13:47

Monstera that dish sounds yummy. Iggle, well done on your loss. 9st1.25 for me today. Made the error of having a pint of cider last night which led to crisps.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 23/06/2020 15:25

I'm feeling really snacky today. Just had a biscuit but I want more 😫. In fact I think having one made it worse not better!

TheHoneyBadger · 23/06/2020 17:51

I’ve had a Big Mac and fries Blush

1000 calories in one go. It was my friend’s fault!

MonsteraCheeseplant · 23/06/2020 18:56

God don't count those calories! Grin When you go to McDs you close your eyes to that kind of information! I hope you had a milkshake Grin Grin

B: Yoghurt
L: Spanish chicken stew
D: Boursin leek chicken
S: Chocolate biscuit, Reese's mini pieces, choccie mousse and small piece of low cal cake which takes me up to 1200.

Hangoverstruggles · 23/06/2020 19:24

Mmmm a Big Mac!!

@Monstera I can't get that link to open. Is it similar to other Huevos rotos recipes if I google or have you adapted it?

MonsteraCheeseplant · 23/06/2020 21:17

I did write a recipe down, now i'm at my computer I can find it for you.
Although the recipes use oil, I don't use it. I dry fry, use the oil from chorizo or just add some water to help prevent sticking.

Huevos Rotos

2 servings ~520 cals per portion

Ingredients:
500g potatoes, cubed
1tbsp olive oil
0.5 onion, chopped
1 tbsp sherry vinegar/white wine vinegar
2 garlic cloves, minced
75g Chorizo
3 eggs
115g Mushrooms, sliced
0.5 large poblano chili, stemmed, seeded, quartered lengthwise and cut into thin strips (or a tsp chili powder to taste)
Mojo rojo to serve (not included in calorie count)

Method:

  1. Microwave potatoes for 10 mins, stirring half way through
  2. Gently crush until slightly flattened but still in chunks
  3. Fry the potatoes ~5 mins on each side until crispy
  4. Stir in the onion, mushrooms, vinegar and salt ~5 mins until onion has softened
  5. Add the garlic, chorizo and chilli if using and fry until cooked
  6. Move contents to one side and crack the eggs in, fry until whites are set and yolk is runny ~ 4 -6 mins
  7. Serve with Mojo

Any hot sauce will do but if you're interested in Mojo:

Mojo Rojo

2 Red Bell Peppers
20ml White wine vinegar
150ml Extra Virgin Olive Oil
8 garlic cloves
1 tsp Cumin powder
½ tsp Salt
2 tsp Sweet chilli powder/ a wrinkly chili

MonsteraCheeseplant · 23/06/2020 21:40

Blend the ingredients together for the sauce

Hangoverstruggles · 23/06/2020 21:50

You legend @MonsteraCheeseplant thanks for taking the time to write that out. Def adding that to the list.

My day has been

B coffees, banana
L jacket & beans
D big bowl of oats soaked in milk, tonnes of berries, blob of yogurt, mini magnum
S banana, chunk of fudge, digestive biscuit

1350 ish. Needing to eat soft foods as mouth is sore from new braces.

Period started today and I already feel heavier without even trying the scales 😡

MonsteraCheeseplant · 24/06/2020 07:46

You are welcome. Poor you with sore mouth! How long do you have to wear braces for?

I weighed in at 10.1 last night! I seem to do this, have a 1lb upswing then lose it plus another lb. Tried on a dress that I last wore 9 years ago and it fits beautifully so will be wearing it to a BBQ/dinner thing in a couple of weeks.

Enjoy the mini heatwave everyone in the UK Smile

Bloating doesn't count @Hangoverstruggles! It'll disappear soon enough.

OP posts:
TheHoneyBadger · 24/06/2020 08:50

Morning I am struggling to believe it and have weighed in 2 different places to check but I am somehow a few pounds down and more than 2lbs under my previous lowest weight Shock genuinely dare not trust it but yay if it’s real

MonsteraCheeseplant · 24/06/2020 08:57

Yay! Congratulations @TheHoneyBadger!

OP posts:
Hangoverstruggles · 24/06/2020 09:26

Well done HoneyBadger!! Fab news! You're doing brilliantly.

@Monstera at least 12 months but should be able to eat normally in a few days. Well done on your 10st1 that's amazing! Have you weighted this morning? I usually 1-2lb heavier before bed than when I wake up so always take my morning weight!

Making a veggie curry for tea tonight. Added it to MFP and will only be 200 or so cals plus rice so hoping to keep well on target today

HoneysuckIejasmine · 24/06/2020 09:36

Wow well done Honey! Great work!

Today I will be most hiding in the shade. I'm not a fan of hot weather.

B pork omelette (cooked a joint a few days ago)
L not sure, soup probably. Maybe houmous and crudités
D bacon and pineapple pasta, courgette

everycowandagain · 24/06/2020 09:52

@MonsteraCheesecake it's so satisfying getting into clothes that haven't fitted for years. You must be chuffed.

I am sticking to my 1500 calories fairly well, the scales are stuck though. Might put new batteries in just in case!! Suspect I just need to stick with it though. Had a tough PT session at 7am and my arms are sore already but it was great to get it done.

Have a good day everyone.
