Fuck, I've literally ate my way through the last four weeks.

I was already a couple of stone overweight and now I've done loads more damage. All I do is eat and then eat some more.

I'm going to sort my shit out starting tomorrow, anyone else want to join me?

@OwlinaTree don't forget that muscle is heavier than fat, so if you're leg muscles have increased a bit with the running, that could account for it Smile

The batteries had leaked in the Wii board, but I managed to clean it up and it's working. I set up a new Mii (called FatName) but forgot to clock the weight! Will have a look later, DS1 is having fun on it atm and I have housework to do.

LimeJellyforBrains · 23/04/2020 14:24

*your not you're Blush

OwlinaTree · 23/04/2020 14:28

Could be @LimeJellyfor Brains. I thought my jeans felt looser, but it could be all in my head! I'm enjoying the running anyway.

FreckledLeopard · 23/04/2020 14:58

@mediumred -
the problem is if you put 10.6, then it thinks this means 148.4lbs (it multiplies by 14, which is wrong). 148 lbs is 10 stone 8. Our entries are ok, it's the starting weights that are all wrong.

Rumandcoke41 · 23/04/2020 15:15

@LimeJellyforBrains I'm afraid that's a myth! One lb of muscle weighs the same as one lb of fat. Muscle just takes up less room than fat but does hold onto water while it repairs itself after exercise. Iirc.

YoureMyWifeNowDave · 23/04/2020 15:19

I’ve altered my starting weight and just put it in pounds now It was 10st 12lbs so 152lbs not 146 as it converted to

Not really a good week for me as I’m now 152.4 lbs!!

helenb706 · 23/04/2020 16:26

I must stop thinking of wine, I must stop thinking of wine

JonHammIsMyJamm · 23/04/2020 16:51

@Rumandcoke41, well it isn’t a myth is it? Muscle tissue is heavier if a greater volume of fat weighs more than a lesser volume of muscle.

Rumandcoke41 · 23/04/2020 17:07

@JonHamm it's what I've always been told by Personal Trainers and what most Google searches will explain. 1 lb of anything will weigh the same as 1 lb of anything else. The muscle occupies less space so maybe why @OwlinaTree s jeans feel looser. I'm just going from what I've been taught over the years. Maybe I've understood it wrong? Confused

JonHammIsMyJamm · 23/04/2020 17:16

Well yes, 1lb of something will weigh the same as 1lb of something else, that’s true but that doesn’t mean that all things weigh the same and things aren’t heavier or lighter. For example a tonne of feathers and a tonne of bricks both weigh the same but a brick is heavier than a feather Smile.

With muscle gain in fitness (mostly people who lift heavy-ish weights, rather than running which tends to create long lean muscle if you do enough of it) people tend to weigh more than you might expect but be slimmer/stronger/more toned. You see it a lot on the threads on here and on CrossFit forums, people saying that they are heavier than they’ve ever been but wearing clothes smaller than they’ve ever worn. So I see what you and the trainers mean from that point of view.

Rumandcoke41 · 23/04/2020 17:22

@JonHammIsMyJamm Yeah I see what you mean. It all gets too technical for me Grin but I've always remembered being told it was a myth by PT's. I would just like my fat to come off to see some muscle! Blush

LimeJellyforBrains · 23/04/2020 17:45

I suppose it's better to say that muscle is denser than fat? So a cubic inch of muscle would be heavier than a cubic inch of fat? Confused

I do remember years and years ago I started going to a gym regularly and doing weights, and was gutted to put on weight!

Rumandcoke41 · 23/04/2020 17:54

@LimeJellyforBrains yes me too! It sucks to try so hard but not see the scales move or worse see them move in wrong direction!!
I'd definitely rather drop a dress size or two than worry about what the scales say, it's just the easiest way to measure your progress I guess.

Notlostjustexploring · 23/04/2020 17:59

I'm sneaking back. I was full of enthusiasm at the beginning!!!

I think I'm struggling due to the current situation. Someone mentioned upthread that they were eating to basically fill the hole caused by stress and worry, and it feels a bit like that!!

Still, I managed to lose, by trying to not eat until lunch, and only eating at meals. My compliance is not great, but it's definitely better than its been.

It was very sobering to see my weight in the start column being a whisker away from 200lbs.

JonHammIsMyJamm · 23/04/2020 18:06

I know what you mean about eating to fill the worry hole Sad.

The early evening sun has spot lit the dog hair on the living room floor. I should get the vacuum out but I absolutely CBA.

OwlinaTree · 23/04/2020 18:51

Did my run, was very pleased with it! I've only just started since the lockdown, although I have done some running in the past. Did 4k today, so pleased with that! I have a bit more time at the mo with working from home so trying to make the most of it.

I'm trying not to be upset about not losing, just going to carry on and hope it's a blip.

JonHammIsMyJamm · 23/04/2020 19:42

@OwlinaTree, well done on your run. It’s only week 1 and times are tough. Don’t be hard on yourself, this thing is a marathon not a sprint.

OwlinaTree · 23/04/2020 20:42

Thank you @JonHammIsMyJamm.

HairyMaclary · 23/04/2020 21:21

I think my success went to my head, I’ve eaten so much today I think I will have gained everything I lost in the whole week 😳.

Tomorrow is a new day...

menthollyinsane · 23/04/2020 21:35

@HairyMaclary I've done a lot of eating today too. I'm starting again tomorrow. What's wrong with me!

It’s so rubbish isn’t it! How do I let this happen!

NetofLemons · 23/04/2020 21:47

Well done everyone, it’s been really nice reading how you’re getting on. I am still the same weight as last week, 57kgs according to my crappy scales, it been a completely inactive week what with feeling tired and stressed with work so willpower has been low. I am genuinely happy though that it hasn’t gone up more! So onwards and downwards Grin

diege · 23/04/2020 22:20

Have also weakened a little today Blush Main meals have been healthy but have succumbed to the biscuits (it's always the biscuits!) and a few hotel chocolat goodies 😍 Hardly a binge though so hoping I've got away with it!

Fabulodosus · 23/04/2020 23:34

Well done everyone!
Happy with my 2.5 off. Stopping scoffing after 7pm has obviously helped! Now to make a few healthier choices instead of heading for sugar 🙈

Goodnightelizabethwalton · 23/04/2020 23:37

I feel like a baby buffalo in lockdown - i’ve become obsessed with food and planning lovely dinners but eating way too many snacks n treats. Gained one and half stone in four weeks and not even been out for any walks as way too many people outside!
