Hello everyone and welcome to the March edition! The plan is to lose 7lbs or 3kg this month!

All are welcome whether you are a regular, newbie, lurker, returning member... all I ask for is the amazing positivity and encouragement I have seen on every thread so far. You guys have been incredible!

I am following ww blue plan and very low carbing. There's a good mix of different methods on here though :)

Previous thread here is anyone wants to look back: Lose 7lbs/3kg per month! The February edition! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3810787-lose-7lbs-3kg-per-month-the-february-edition

My stats are:
Starting weight (Dec 18) 25st 2lbs
Current weight: 18st 4lbs
Loss so far: 6st 12lbs
Loss for Feb: 6lbs (just missed target 😢)
Target for March: 10lbs so 17st 8lbs

We can do this people!!! Who's with me???

On reflection, I think that I would have enjoyed the chicken salad more than the burger. Lesson learned.

GetTheStartyParted · 10/03/2020 16:14

Oh no @Tryingtwo you were sabotaged!

cricketmum84 · 10/03/2020 16:45

Second bad day in a row. Please can someone come shake some sense in to me???

Not eating now for the rest of the day. Back in the office tomorrow so NO MORE SNACKING!!

Hi I have been reading along but didn't want to post whilst I was feeling negative. Had a better couple of days but still +2 lbs this morning on March starting weight. Hoping I can claw my way back down closer to 15st in the next couple of weeks. KOKO

Egghead68 · 10/03/2020 16:50

@cricketmum84 I'll try (but do what I say not what I do!). You have that lovely veg box. Can you prepare yourself some raw veg to snack on with low-fat hummus or something, and some nice veg curries to look forward to?

Glad you are doing better @onesmallstep67.

I have limited food in the house so it was pizza for breakfast today and pizza and fruitcake for lunch. If I skip dinner (which I often do) I should be on-track caloriewise.

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 10/03/2020 19:14

Evening all,

I have been very very good this week. My first full week on IF/800kcals. Weigh in is tomorrow morning and I've got a horrible feeling there's not going to be the loss I'm looking for.

Today I had some chilli for lunch with some sweet potato rice, and an cheese omelette for tea. 698 kcals total.

lboogy · 10/03/2020 19:52

75kg for a total weight loss this month so far of 1.5kg. Total weight loss since jan is 5kg.
I'll be sticking to the 5:2 diet for now. Works for me since I work 2 days from home a week so I can do it easily when I don't have temptations around

KedsAndTubeSocks · 10/03/2020 20:03

Back on it today. 8km walk, loads of fruit and OMAD. Think I'll do OMAD Mon-Fri this month.

ValentineFizz · 10/03/2020 21:19

Evening all!

So I have fallen spectacularly off the wagon due to a weekend of excess. I had no sooner got to 9st 12lb at start of March than I was out for a 3-course meal with plenty alcohol Friday night, had Indian takeaway on Saturday night and a McDonalds lunch on Sunday Blush So promptly back at 10st for Sunday weigh in but I'm back on it now! Confused

Back to logging everything on MFP, some days 16:8, minimum 10k steps per day, at least 2L water and some running when I can fit it in. Onwards and upwards after a big blip!! Smile

MotherOfDragonite · 10/03/2020 22:30

Well, I have certainly eaten RIGHT up to my weekly points limit this week. But I'm still feeling positive about tomorrow's weigh in as it has been pretty good each time I've checked. So that is weird but nice. I guess the difference is that I'm eating treats in moderation, rather than to excess, and balancing it out with days when my meals are quite austere!

I also met my WW points target for exercise for the first time this week -- almost definitely because I've stopped taking the bus and am walking instead. So, another 13,000-step day today. Still not managing to drink enough water though.

MotherOfDragonite · 10/03/2020 22:31

I'm also trying to walk more quickly than usual! (Partly because I am late everywhere because it was quicker to take the bus, ha ha ha)

MotherOfDragonite · 10/03/2020 22:35

Nice one, @lboogy, well done!!

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa -- it sounds like you've had a really good week, but why are you feeling pessimistic about weighing tomorrow?!

@Egghead68 I see we have both been following the same 'pizza in moderation, followed by fasting' diet this week! Wink

So glad you are feeling more positive and have returned to the thread, @Onesmallstep67. You can do it! You still have 20 days in the month, too!

@cricketmum84, do you have a sense of what your triggers have been lately for the bad days?

Onceuponatimethen · 10/03/2020 22:36

I have also had a bad few days! Had to go to a leaving lunch at work today and it was sharing plates so a bit awkward! Lots of lovely tapas but a lot of non healthy options

I’m determined to start again tomorrow as I feel like I’ve come this far and can now fit back into my nice dress. I want to wear it!

beforeihit30 · 10/03/2020 23:04

@GetTheStartyParted if you’re losing your appetite, are the meals you’re having nutrient dense? I usually eat 2 meals a day, with coffee and cream in the morning, DH eats 1 meal a day with coffee and cream also in the morning and occasionally a snack in the evening. However we both get plenty of foods as what we eat is ‘dense’ (eg plenty of protein, sufficient fat), so we don’t get hungry or weak feeling at all. These are the natural patterns we’ve both fallen into. It might be, if you’re getting nauseous, instead of trying to force more food in, have more densely packed foods - eg add in butter, olive oil, cream, nut butter, mayo, fattier cuts of meat/fish if you eat them... that sort of thing. It doesn’t take much to fill you up and keep you going, whilst still losing weight.

I’m ill Sad standard cold but quite achey and feeling a bit rubbish, so taking it easy. Decided (prior to this!) to not count/track my macros this week and see how it goes, ultimately I need to be able to eat intuitively and have managed to do that relatively successfully in the past. I don’t like tracking, after a while I get too focused on it, and it actually messes with my perspective and that was starting to happen again - things like looking at my ‘allowance’ to determine my eating, rather than whether I’m hungry (so not eating even though I’m hungry, eating even though I’m not) and that just isn’t healthy for me long term. So I’m seeing how I go for the next week or two initially and then take it from there.

cricketmum84 · 10/03/2020 23:27

Sorry I've been so absent today guys. I've had a really really bad day.

@MotherOfDragonite it's anxiety that triggers unhealthy eating behaviours. When I'm stressed I don't eat but when I'm a swirling mess of worry and anxiety I binge. And the last two days have been binging. I've been too ashamed to come and post properly.

Just found out I'm not in the office tomorrow as work are doing a practice lockdown and have asked the entire company to work remotely. Corona prep stuff. That's ok for me as the anxiety probably still isn't at the point where I would be ok surrounded by people but it means I also need to get a handle on my eating. I have loads of fresh fruit and veg in after my Monday delivery. No more shitty crisps and chocolate and pastry,

Thanks my lovelies for helping to get me back in the straight and narrow. Couldn't get through all this without you lot!

Morning. I’m 64.4kg which is the highest since Jan I think. All this staying at home eating up food from my freezer is catching up with me. I need to get into a new routine.

Hope you have a better day @cricketmum84. Are you over your cough yet?

Get well soon @beforeIhit30.

cricketmum84 · 11/03/2020 07:06

So not good news. Got on the scales and I've regained all 4lbs that I lost last week. I am now being extremely firm with myself. Going back on anxiety medication and eating properly and going for a 30min jog at lunchtime.

@Egghead68 no the manky cough is still lingering.

Plan for today is:
B - 2 satsumas and green tea
L - cucumber sticks and hummous
D - courgette fritters and poached eggs
Snacks if needed - I have a fruit bowl with bananas, apples, nectarines and strawberries

I've got this, I'm going to be back down to 18 by Saturday!!

OP posts:
cricketmum84 · 11/03/2020 07:07

@ValentineFizz I have done exactly the same. We can do this together!

OP posts:
Egghead68 · 11/03/2020 07:09

Sounds like a great plan!

Onceuponatimethen · 11/03/2020 07:18

Good luck today everyone! I’m with you too - back on the programme today.

So far: mushroom omelette
L - veg soup and a salad
D - planning salmon, broccoli and a small helping of cous cous

MotherOfDragonite · 11/03/2020 07:24

@cricketmum84 You are doing all the right things! You've got this! I am also an emotional eater although I have discovered that one of my other triggers is lack of sleep! Now I am conscious of it I try to be more careful at times like that.

Is there any way we can help to support you? (I am especially always up for discussion of healthy vegan snack options, as I feel like I need a little help staying on the wagon at the moment!)

I always come back to Flylady at times like this. I know she is talking about cleaning but the message is so empowering. "“You are not behind! I don't want you to try to catch up; I just want you to jump in where we are."

Onceuponatimethen · 11/03/2020 07:30

I think that’s so true @MotherOfDragonite

Onceuponatimethen · 11/03/2020 07:32

We’re all doing really amazing by being on the journey, having achieved any losses we have so far and having the brilliant determination there is on this board.

Onceuponatimethen · 11/03/2020 07:34

Also very up for a healthy snack chat. I like:

Ruby grapefruit - less sour than normal grapefruit but just as delicious!

An Apple (maybe boring but delicious!)

A veg soup - the ones I’ve got in tins are really low cal and very filling

Onceuponatimethen · 11/03/2020 07:34

Very keen to hear any new ones - I need to expand my range of healthy nibbles!!
