Hello all, I'm a lurker and very occasional poster. Popped in to see how everyone did in, Jan. So much motivation in, those posts. I managed 10.5lb which was amazing. I'm now 132lb and hoping for 124lb by the end of Feb.

Do far I've just been cutting calories to under 1000 a week day and trying very hard not to go over 1500 a day at the weekend. But I know soon I'll need to add exercise to keep that loss rate up.

BlueEyedFloozy · 02/02/2020 22:49

@recklessgran I may pinch that one 🤣

recklessgran · 02/02/2020 22:58

@BlueEyedFloozy please do! DH has a very sharp sense of humour so now it will be Floozy Flan in our house forever more. You are immortalised! I love it already - Floozy Flan sounds so much more interesting than crustless quiche though doesn't it?

BlueEyedFloozy · 02/02/2020 23:29

It really does :o

On another note I had the shift from hell at work and am now at home waiting for my head to stop whizzing so I can sleep but instead of reaching for the crisps like I normally would I'm drinking tea and googling new recipes for the week! NSV for me 👍

cricketmum84 · 03/02/2020 06:07

Morning all, had an awful nights sleep after too much wine yesterday at my mums. I've been awake since 4.30 and couldn't get back to sleep. Thank goodness I'm working from home today! Thankfully scales haven't shown a gain though.

Plan for today is:
B - satsumas
L - chickpea tagine and quinoa
D - lm sausages. Will decided what's going in it when my veg box arrives later as I've ordered a surprise box this week!

No snacks or wine and must do minimum 4 pints water. I could do with one of those bottles that reminds you to drink!

@BlueEyedFloozy and @recklessgran I used to do my crustless quiche with fat free cottage cheese to reduce fat even further. Looks a bit like cat sick when you first mix it up but very nice once it's cooked.

Excellent loss @Hoolahoophop well done!!

Morning all
Haven’t weighed this morning, can’t face it while I’m on these steroids and want to eat everything. Back to the doctors this morning as no better at all. Spent all of yesterday sat on the couch feeling rubbish. Focusing on 5 glasses of water a day and 5 fruit and veg to at least support my body the best way I can and get back to weight loss once I’m actually feeling like a human being. Have a great day all.

Egghead68 · 03/02/2020 06:39

Get well soon @JontyDoggle37.

64.2kg so lost yesterday’s rogue kilo (despite going over my calorie limit).

Plan- cashew curry 460 cals, bao buns 200 cals each, chocolate marzipan 480 fruit salad 130. Weights class and some treadmill jogging.

I feel your sleep-deprived pain @cricketmum84. I couldn’t get to sleep till the small hours and am prising my eyes open now.

KedsAndTubeSocks · 03/02/2020 06:51

Sorry Jonty that sounds rubbish.
Starting today at 72.3 kg with 16:8 and lots of fruit & veg. Might start 30 Day Shred later, if I can find the energy.

looloo247 · 03/02/2020 07:07

Day 1 of slim fast was easier than I thought, felt slightly hungry all day but ok once I had my proper meal in the evening. Also managed a 25 minute run so all in all a good day! Here's to another milkshake for breakfast...

cricketmum84 · 03/02/2020 07:10

Sorry you're feeling so rubbish @JontyDoggle37 water and fruit sounds a good plan. Concentrate on health first and weight loss will come when it's ready. If you can face it maybe try some quick homemade veg soups? Comforting, warming and will get lots of nutrients in you while you are ill. Really hope you are feeling better soon!

NerrSnerr · 03/02/2020 07:53

Morning all. Get well soon Jonty. Being on steroids is tough.

I have 1lb down today. Have a busy day at work but have lunch made and will have Almond Butter on toast for breakfast once the smallest has gone to nursery.

Hope everyone has a good one.

cricketmum84 · 03/02/2020 08:06

@NerrSnerr I'm tempted to try some of the new nut butters to up my protein intake BUT I absolutely detest peanut butter, with a passion. I can't even stand it near me and if one of the kids tries to hug or kiss me after eating it I gag 😂 does almond butter taste or smell like peanut butter?? Or is it totally different?

OP posts:
NerrSnerr · 03/02/2020 08:21

@cricketmum84 it is quite similar to peanut butter. If you hate peanut that much I imagine you'll probably dislike the others.

cricketmum84 · 03/02/2020 08:27

Ah I'll give it a miss then. At least I've not wasted money buying it and hating it lol

Morning all. Monday is weigh day for me.
Today 13 st 4lbs
Feb goal 12 st 11lbs.
So, I'm 0.25lbs up from last Monday and therefore 0.25lbs less than a stone lost since I started on 30/12. Will see how things go this coming week but with no loss at all last week on my current regime I might have to go hard core and OMAD every day. In any event I'm pleased with how far I've come in terms of mindset if nothing else and I do realise that a loss of almost a stone in 5 weeks is good.
@Jonty I'm sorry you're so unwell, there are some awful viruses flying around at this time of the year. I hope your G.P. can help and I don't think you should be worrying AT ALL about weight loss at the moment. Lots of good wishes from over here.
Waving to all the new joiners.

Egghead68 · 03/02/2020 09:16

@cricketmum84 I'm going to go against the grain and say that I think cashew, pistachio and almond butter DO taste quite different from peanut butter although the texture is similar. I love them (especially the Pip and Nut Cherry Bakewell Almond Butter) but they are £££ and +++calories.

Tryingtwo · 03/02/2020 09:39

Good morning all, JontyDoggle37 hope you feel better soon, I'm another one advocating eat what you fancy and resume healthy eating when you feel better.
recklessgran and Ecci, the three of us are within 0.6lb of each other with the same February goal - soon we can all celebrate getting into the 12's.

Tryingtwo · 03/02/2020 09:43

Forgot to add that I'm down another 0.2lbs to 13st 4.2lbs.

chrispenrallt1 · 03/02/2020 09:52

Hi all can I join you. Back from holiday and stepped on the scales this morning. I knew to within a pound where I would be. So as I was on my hols I decided I would take action on my return. So here I am. I’ve always struggled with my weight, and the best thing for me is low carb.
When I think of how many croissants I ate on holiday I just thought sod it im on holiday. Deliberately did not weigh in before Christmas and I only have my self to blame for tight uncomfortable clothes. I would like to lose 42 pounds by Christmas 2020 so it’s goodbye spuds and bread and hello water . Buying the next size up in not an option . Anyone got the same problem . Feeling positive today so let’s see how I get on

Somesortofzilla · 03/02/2020 09:57

Morning all!

Thanks for the new thread @cricketmum84!

@recklessgran I would eat a whole wheel of camembert in one sitting for you and still get up and munch on the brie (notions!) that is an amazing loss for one month!

Sorry for the radio silence, took the kids on an impromptu camping trip to the Connemara Lakes with a few friends. (There is NO signal in that part of the world, still using turf and open fires) It was amazing, although we did the dog on the food!! I will definitely be up this week haha!

I'm back on it today, feeling so much more positive I think we all just needed to reset and getting away really helped us do that. And they both slept on the 3.5hr drive home, it was bliss!

Stats are:
Feb start weight: 93.6kg
End of Feb goal: 90.6kg
Loss for Jan: 8.5kg
Total loss: 8.5kg

recklessgran · 03/02/2020 10:17

@Tryingtwo it's good to have company in the quest to get into the 12's. Don't think I've been there since DH had cancer in 2011 and I hardly ate for weeks on end. I'm getting excited about the idea of having a new slimmer wardrobe but as I've stalled this week I'm trying to stop myself from buying anything new for the time being. I bought a nice top last week in Roman and am so chuffed that it's a 14 and looks nice on me. [Ridiculous!]
@chrispenrallt1 I'm doing Keto as bread is carb crack to me so you're in good company here. I do struggle with getting all the water down though and then multiple visits to the loo morning, noon and night!

cobwebsoncornices · 03/02/2020 10:33

6lbs down in Jan so weighed in at 11st on 1st Feb.
Hoping for 4lbs off this month. Then I'll be back at the weight I was when I first joined these threads back in May last year oops

JessJonesJumps · 03/02/2020 10:41

@Somesortofzilla your camping trip sounds fab! I'm jealous!
Not least because mini-JJJ developed a fever over the weekend and a stomach bug so we spent the weekend stuck at home, with hardly any sleep.
@JontyDoggle37 be kind to yourself. I hope the GP can do something to help Flowers

I'm 0.4lbs down since yesterday. At this rate, if the DC stay ill, I might make it into the 12s by the end of the week!

Ecci · 03/02/2020 11:01

@Tryingtwo sadly, I've worked out my conversions wrongly, so I'm a bit behind you and recklessgran. My Feb starting weight is 194.6 lbs, which is 13st 12.6 lbs. I put it down to being in recovery from a nasty operation - brain not back to normal yet. I'll try to catch up with you both!

chrispenrallt1 · 03/02/2020 11:24

Hi reckless gran
Yes I’m trying keto out as I just find it better for me not to eat carb heavy things. I’m in the office now lucky me I work from home, so I enjoyed egg bacon and cheese omelette for breakfast and I’m having cheesy cabbage with bacon plus tomato and pepper salad for lunch.
Dinner will be chicken with a salad
Only 5 more bottles of water to drink. 3 litres I will not dare to leave the house !
