We’ve been to the beach today, it’s been a hot weekend. I’m wanting to stop snacking but I’m lacking the will power on weekends! I’m going to have steak and veg for dinner.

I’ve been looking at BMI charts today and I might change my goal weight down a bit. I need to get my mind focused. I have some clothes I’d like to fit a bit better, maybe I need to focus on some toning up with exercise.

Egghead68 · 02/02/2020 05:57

Morning. 65.6kg. Over 1kg more than yesterday! I overdid it a bit but not that much. I hope it’s a blip. Happy Sunday everyone.

cricketmum84 · 02/02/2020 08:11

Morning all. It's Day 2!

Hopped on the scales this morning to see my first 1lb loss of the month!

Meal out last night was lovely, I only ate half of each course though as I would have felt ill if I had eaten everything and I fasted the rest of the day. I had Italian hummous and flatbread to start, then a very thin vegan pizza, no cheese, topped with olives, mushrooms, spinach, rocket and avocado. Then tiramisu and 2 175ml glasses of wine. Just going to try put it all into ww app!

@SunsetBoulevard3 when I follow the link it takes me to the homepage and asks which plan I want to sign up to?

Well done on the January loss @Ecci and lovely to see you back :)

@MotherOfDragonite sounds like you have a good plan in place! I'm an emotional starver. When I get stressed out my stomach churns and I just cannot eat. But then I don't lose anything Cos my body goes into starvation mode.

@DownUdderer so jealous of your beach trip, I love the beach! 4 degrees here this morning and it's freeeereeezing! I'm thinking about joining Pilates for some toning and hopefully to help with my back and shoulder pain!

@Egghead68 I'm sure it's just a blip. I suppose this is the main problem with weighing daily! We see all the water ups and downs.

Thanks @JessJonesJumps for the new thread tag!
Struggling the last couple of days, steroids are kicking in and I want to eat everything. Only got two more days on them so hopefully that will ease off soon. Scales have sat on the exact same weight for days. I’m going to buy a new pair today anyway as for some reason these have got stuck in kilos and I want to see stone and pounds. Hopefully the new ones don’t think I’m even heavier!

KedsAndTubeSocks · 02/02/2020 08:36

I think I shall have an exercise-free day today. I swam a mile yesterday and my legs feel a bit 'heavy' today.

NerrSnerr · 02/02/2020 08:59

Morning all. My weight has stayed the same today which I am happy with. I have a spinning class today and taking the children swimming later so quite an active day.

Onesmallstep67 · 02/02/2020 09:29

Finally February. We survived the drive to Surrey and back and it was lovely to spend some time with my DDs.
Starting stats for the month
SW : 15st 4lbs ( +1 from Friday)
Weight lost since April '19 : 3st 11lbs
Target loss for Feb : 5lbs, taking me under 15 st for the first time in over 20 years.
Good luck losers Wink

Ihatesundays · 02/02/2020 10:13

I lost 0.3kg - which for me is huge! Wasn’t convinced by this whole eating more calories but maybe it’s what I need.
Down to 70.2kg - so close to that 69!

JessJonesJumps · 02/02/2020 10:13

Good to see you back Jonty. I have that fear about buying new scales too.

I'm 0.4lbs down today. Still heavier than I was at the end of Jan but not bad for a weekend. Last weekend I put on weight! DS has been dipping in and out of a fever since yesterday. I feel like I've had about 4 hrs non-consecutive sleep. I think we'll both be having a duvet day today but with lots of veg, fruit and vitamins to fight off the bugs.

riverbat · 02/02/2020 11:27

Newbie here.

Started on 14 January at 86kg. 1 February was at 82kg so a good start although I know it's mostly water! Doing Jane Plan and finding it ok so far

Tryingtwo · 02/02/2020 11:40

Good morning all, I'm 0.2lbs down today which for a Sunday is excellent Smile

looloo247 · 02/02/2020 11:43

I'm in - I've decided to give slim fast a try for a couple of months leading up to a holiday at Easter. I know it's not a great long term option but I'm hoping it will give me the kick start I need and train me into eating less because I'm currently a pig when it comes to portion sizes Blush

recklessgran · 02/02/2020 11:45

Morning all. I'm still half a pound more than I was last Monday so it looks as though it will be a gain for me tomorrow but I'm not sure why. We'll see. Yesterday I had a slice of ham and a salad bowl no dressing for lunch and steak and stir fry veg for dinner. Snack was 5 pecan nuts. I was out at a gig last night but only had 1 diet coke so no damage done there. Today I'm OMAD and having roast pork salad and lots of water.Fingers crossed for the morning.
Trying to keep busy today rather than sitting at my desk. DD4 [junior doc] is home tonight for a couple of days flying visit so it will be comfort food and lots of treats [Gu desserts for breakfast anyone?] for her as she eats VERY healthily at home and doesn't have treats in. As you can probably tell, I'm a feeder. She will tell me off but will indulge anyway. Looking forward to seeing her.
I love reading about everyone's progress on here - it's definitely helping me especially at the moment when I'm stuck and don't really know why as I haven't cheated once. So thank you all.
@somesortofzilla hope you're having a lovely weekend with your boys.

cricketmum84 · 02/02/2020 12:39

I can't remember who was asking me about the chickpea tagine recipe and can't find the post now!

It's simmering away. Had a little taste and it definitely needed a bit more depth so I've added a couple of veg stock cubes and it's now perfect. I've even kept the chickpea water back to have a go at vegan meringue later!

Egghead68 · 02/02/2020 12:53

Just documenting:
B: Gregg's cream apple Danish 420
L: Brie sandwich 480 fruit salad 135
S: 100g chocolate coated marzipan from Christmas 480
Total 1515. Going to have to be a very small or no dinner. Weekends are always higher calorie than weekdays for me though.

BlueEyedFloozy · 02/02/2020 12:58

Chickpea terrine sounds lovely 😋

I was working 2-10 yesterday and same again today so spent the mornings trying to be organised - have made banana baked oats for breakfast tomorrow, a big batch of tomato and basil soup for lunches and a ham, cheese and tomato crustless quiche to be used whenever! Being organised is key for me otherwise I just grab everything and anything!

Actually took snacks with me yesterday (chopped melon and grapes and 2x rich tea biscuits) but left the biscuits as I fancied a banana instead. Very pleased with myself on that front as normally I'd have eaten them just because they were there 👍

L: Tomato and basil soup and a ham/cheese toastie (skipped breakfast as woke up late so was starving by this point!)
D: Sweet and sour chicken, boiled rice and veg - I usually take my own but as it's Sunday I let the chef at work cook for me 🤣

MotherOfDragonite · 02/02/2020 14:04

B: French toast with a small amount of maple syrup, raspberries
L: An Indian veg soup, rye bread with low fat cottage cheese, sliced pickles (the kind with no sugar) and Tabasco sauce on top, yum
D: My mum is here and plans to cook some kind of bean and vegetable stew with brown rice.

I struggle with snacks and the breaks in between meals, so am budgeting for 3-4 cups of tea with oat milk. I think in future I will probably need to find a substitute for the oat milk as it's quite pointy, but right now it's keeping me going and tastes nice.

@Onesmallstep67 I'm also trying to lose a few stone over the course of the next 8-12 months so it's super lovely to see that others (like you!) are succeeding! It must feel really exciting to see a goal weight in sight that you haven't seen since you were much younger Grin

@DownUdderer that sounds like a good idea. I was really struck by a friend of mine who started exercising and didn't lose any actual weight but looked completely different and went down a couple of dress sizes.

@cricketmum84 are you vegan, or just trying vegan foods in order to eat more healthily? I am vegetarian but avoid cow's milk (and was avoiding cheese but find some of the low-fat stuff quite good for WW).

@BlueEyedFloozy your food sounds delicious. What are the intriguing sounding banana baked oats??

cricketmum84 · 02/02/2020 14:22

@MotherOfDragonite I've been vegetarian for about a year. Although I haven't had cows milk for about 10 months now. I had a go at veganuary which I found a bit harder than I thought I would as so many things contain dairy that you just wouldn't expect to (Salt and vinegar pringles????).

My plan going forward is stick to a whole food plant based diet, some eggs but only local rescue hen eggs where there is no Male chick "disposal" and no cruelty. I know the odd bit of cheese will creep in Cos I can't resist it all the time. DH keeps trying to tempt me with meat and fish but that definitely isn't happening!

recklessgran · 02/02/2020 14:36

@BlueEyedFloozy in awe of anyone that organised! Please would you mind sharing how you make your crustless quiche? I think I would like that and it might help alleviate some of the boredom I'm currently feeling on Keto.

KedsAndTubeSocks · 02/02/2020 15:40

That was me @cricketmum84, thanks. The BBC one also lacked depth, but was improved by dates & apricots.

TimesAreHardForDreamers · 02/02/2020 15:45

Jan start weight- 12st 3
Feb start weight- 11.13
Slowly heading in the right direction.
My plan for February is doing MFP at 1250 calories a day, trying to get on my exercise bike at least 3 times a week, and doing lots of crafting in the evening to keep my hands busy and stop the evening snacking.

Next week it's my youngests birthday, so they'll be cake and she wants a pizza dinner, and I've got a night out with friends so I need to be super on it the rest of the week!

BlueEyedFloozy · 02/02/2020 16:31

@MotherOfDragonite baked oats - like banana bread but less guilt 😁 Kids love them in a muffin tray too! They seem to turn out better in non-fan oven for some reason so I do in the top oven.

@recklessgran not a recipe as such but I chop some sliced ham, wing in grated cheese, loads of chopped cherry tomatoes and 7 eggs into a cake tin. Give it a bang on the counter to get rid of any gaps. Put in the oven for about 30 minutes but it's done when it's golden and a knife comes out clean. Not quite as nice real quiche but it does the job!

Onesmallstep67 · 02/02/2020 17:24

@MotherOfDragonite, thank you for the lovely, positive comments. I still have some way to go but I feel that I have broken the back of it now and can see myself creeping towards some sort of weight at which I will feel more comfortable. I don't have any magic formula or top tips. What works for one person is different to the next . But sending you lots of positive wishes. The support and accountability on here has definitely helped.

Egghead68 · 02/02/2020 18:28

Had chopped raw veg (66 calories) and 2 choc biscuits (180) for dinner bringing me up to around 1760 calories for the day. In theory I should maintain my weight on that (I'm quite tall and active) but I expect I'll pay the price of another gain on the scales tomorrow!

recklessgran · 02/02/2020 19:27

Ah, that's great, thank you @BlueEyedFloozy I'm definitely going to make that! [ DH has already nicknamed it Floozy Flan.]
I had chicken in white wine sauce, runner beans and Brussels for dinner instead of my planned roast pork salad. Sugar free jelly for dessert. in. Just waiting for DD4 and an Ocado delivery to show up and my day will be complete.
