@cricketmum84 sorry you’re not feeling good. I’m a firm believer in having a little bit of what you fancy sometimes - in the grand scheme of things, is the odd “blip” going to be the end of the world? Hence why I had two quality streets I found lurking in the cupboard yesterday 😂 hopefully you are in the mend soon.

We are pretty much at the end of the month, and there have been some really impressive losses! I’ve been really inspired by this thread, and the motivation that everyone seems to have. Final weigh in of the month for me in the morning, I’ll be thinking thin thoughts as I go off to sleep tonight!

@KedsAndTubeSocks your picture did make me laugh!

recklessgran · 27/02/2020 22:35

@CricketMum84 sorry you're not feeling well and DH is being an unsympathetic mmmmer. Before my shop shut I used to wish DH could be a woman just for those couple of weeks. Plenty of room for a few more under the patio - bonus that digging will be easy due to so much rain here. Spades at the ready. Hope you feel better soon. Today was OMAD for me. I made chicken salad but didn't enjoy it. Recklesscat got the chicken and the bin got the salad. Just had a mummy call with DD3 and now off to bed for me. Trying to get in practice for the March Mantra - water, exercise, salad, sleep.

ploughingthrough · 27/02/2020 23:17

Def agree to have a little bit of you want now and again.
So I did my post-holiday weigh-in and no loss or gain so I guess I'm pleased about that. It finishes me February at 67.5 with a starting weight at the beginning of this whole thing of 75.5. It's only 2kg loss this month which I'm a bit disappointed with but it's still loss.
I have changed up my exercise routine to include more HIIT and weights so I hope I can reach my target of 64kg within the next couple of months. Slow and steady is okay I keep telling myself...At that point I would be happy to maintain my weight.

DownUdderer · 28/02/2020 03:18

@ploughingthrough not gaining weight in a holiday sounds great! Well done!

Egghead68 · 28/02/2020 06:12

Hope you are feeling better @cricketmum84.

63.4kg today. Just need to at least maintain this for one more day!

Nice loss @ploughingthrough.

cricketmum84 · 28/02/2020 07:15

Thanks guys, the cough is still horrendous this morning, already coughed to the point of being sick twice and all I've had is water. Really need to get some makeup on and get off to work.

Plan for today is:
B - black coffee
L - cucumber and pepper sticks with low fat hummous
D - ordering from the vegan Chinese. Some sort of broccoli and ginger dish I think and will do my own veg "rice" with it instead of noodles or rice.

1lb down today so 6lbs for this month. Fingers crossed for a teeny bit more before tomorrow!

SconNotScone · 28/02/2020 07:24

@ploughingthrough congrats on your loss this month, you didn’t gain on holiday, which is a big achievement in itself!

@Egghead68 Well done!

@cricketmum84 sorry you’re still feeling awful. Well done on the extra loss though, fingers crossed for you!

Just did my final weigh for this month. I’ve lost 6.5lb, so close!! Start weight this month was 71.85kg (11st 4.5) and today I’m 68.95kg (10st 12). But hey, I have made it into the 60s / 10s, which I’m really pleased with!

recklessgran · 28/02/2020 07:53

Morning all. Today is my day off so I'll be out for lunch with g/f and visiting DM and DD1 after that. I'm busy making 2 12inch square birthday cakes for the 60th birthday party I'm going to tomorrow evening. Doing buffet food for 100 tomorrow so I've got a busy couple of days ahead of me. Hoping to resist picking whilst food prepping as no Keto food going on the buffet. Sandwiches with 4 different fillings, sausage rolls, mini quiches and mountains of crisps! On Sunday we are having afternoon tea at our lovely Goddaughter's so more danger there foodwise. Must try to be good and polish my halo.
I have no food plan for today yet but determined to stay on the wagon. Lunch will be in the pub as usual. Really don't know about dinner. Some great losses on here - I'll be lucky to record 5 or 6lbs for the month which strictly speaking ends tomorrow. Not sure what to do as my weigh day is Monday. I think I'll have to record tomorrow's weight and revert to Saturday weighing or do I record both? Bit confused, am I having a blonde moment?
@Cricketmum84 sorry you're poorly - thank God it's Friday, hopefully you can rest up over the weekend. Hope everyone has a good day.

DownUdderer · 28/02/2020 08:10

@cricketmum84 that cough sounds terrible. Many years ago I pulled the muscles between my ribs from a bad cough!

@recklessgran I’d record both. Then you’ll know your feb loss and your week on week trend. You’re doing well with your losses.

@SconNotScone wonderful loss! You’re losing inches too!

Everyone is doing great! Thanks for all being supportive and encouraging.

cricketmum84 · 28/02/2020 08:29

Ooh yes @DownUdderer I've done that too. I used to smoke and ended up with pleurisy from a bad chest infection and tore an intercostal muscle. That was painful!!

@recklessgran good luck with the buffet! Are you doing all of that on your own or do you have helpers??

Excellent loss @SconNotScone I'm impressed :)

@Cricketmum84 no problem I'm doing it on my own. Have numerous offers but my kitchen is tiny these days. In my old house the kitchen was bigger than the whole downstairs of our tiny home now. I love it here but having anyone else in the kitchen is a total nightmare. I regularly want to murder DH when he is hovering in the kitchen whilst I'm dishing up. Head. Done. In. Anyway, it's no problem as don't forget big, big family so used to doing massive buffets. Somehow I get roped in for all the parties round here and I absolutely love it. I'm known locally as "Big Momma" - hopefully that will have to change soon! Currently have 30 eggs boiling for egg mayo and stuffing cooling to mix with 2kgs of sausagemeat in preparation for sausage rolls. Plan is to completely finish the cakes and get the sausage rolls made ready for baking first thing and sandwich fillings prepped by the end of today. Mini quiches in freezer so will cook them off tomorrow after the sausage rolls and whilst that's going on make 16 loaves of sandwiches. Transport all to venue. Job done.

JessJonesJumps · 28/02/2020 09:39

reckless I love hearing about your Friday days out. They sound so much fun! Im in awe at how calm you are about preparing a buffet and baking birthday cakes. I love baking and cooking but only for people who live in my house Grin

Weight is the same today. I thought my waist looked different so I've just checked my measurements. In Feb, I've lost 1.5inches from my chest; 1.5inches from my waist and 1.5inches from my hips. I don't think I've ever lost so evenly before!

Today's plans are up in the air as I'm waiting for the GP to call back to see if I can get an appointment. I have an old hip injury and it's been horrendous this week.

Onceuponatimethen · 28/02/2020 14:22

Sorry to all those feeling poorly

It’s awful weather here and I’ve just been shopping - terrible timing

Food today:

Breakfast herbal tea and one slice bread with hummus
Lunch - about to have a soup
Dinner - theoretically a shake, but dp and I still haven’t actually had one!!!!

Onceuponatimethen · 28/02/2020 14:22

Basically we are still scared of the shakes Blush

Onceuponatimethen · 28/02/2020 14:23

I’m going to have salad for lunch as well - forgot to say!!

Egghead68 · 28/02/2020 16:49

Had a day off - much more restful than @recklessgran’s but ate street food and a vegan ice-cream and marshmallow sundae. Will probably pay the price on the scales tomorrow.

KedsAndTubeSocks · 28/02/2020 16:57

'you've lost loads of weight, are you okay?' isn't an NSV is it? Sad

Onceuponatimethen · 28/02/2020 17:36

Keds could be jealousy!!!!

cricketmum84 · 28/02/2020 17:55

@JessJonesJumps loving the inch loss! I really need to start measuring. I couldn't face doing it at the start when I was so massive but kinda wish I had now.

@Onceuponatimethen what shakes are you supposed to be having? Can you swap your day around a bit and have one for breakfast instead of evening meal?

@Egghead68 that sounds lovely! My and eldest DD are meant to be going to a vegan street market Sunday as long as the weather is ok. Had a look at the stalls and there's some amazing looking street food stalls there.

@KedsAndTubeSocks that's a proper bitchy thing to say! But I would say still an NSV that you look so good you reduced someone to being bitchy out of jealousy.

Right Chinese dilemma.... it's treat night and I'm going to have some carbs. What's best out of boiled rice, soft egg noodles or rice noodles??

OP posts:
Skyejuly · 28/02/2020 18:00

I would go for boiled rice personally but when I had chinese last week I had veggie chow mein.

I'm down to 9.7 this week (10st 11 in Jan) I dont feel different but clothes feel better. Face still looks same.

cricketmum84 · 28/02/2020 18:14

@Skyejuly I've just googled carb content for them all and I'm shocked!! For 100g of each it said on mfp
Rice: 17g
Egg noodles: 70g(!!!)
Rice noodles: 37g

Think I'm going to go broccoli and ginger with boiled rice. I am so hungry! I didn't get time to eat my lunch and after my flumpy mood yesterday I haven't actually eaten since yesterday lunchtime!

OP posts:
recklessgran · 28/02/2020 19:20

Oh God @Cricketmum84 that explains everything - I of course would have gone for the egg noodles without fail! No wonder I'm finding Keto a revelation.
Just checking in quickly. Bacon and egg at the pub washed down by J.D and diet coke. Good gossipy catchup with g/f. Visit to DM out of the way and all well at DD1's. Looks as though her sat nav has finally found the hoover and she has shoved that around and fed her dishwasher so I have to be happy about that - bless her heart.
Tried and failed to ice the second birthday cake this morning before I went out. Fondant had to be binned as kept breaking due to high humidity. Rainy day is the very worst thing for fondant. I'm going to try again this evening. Will try to post pic when I'm done. Have 15 loaves of bread in kitchen ready for sandwiches. Need to make 150 sausage rolls this evening ready for baking first thing. [Well, will probably take all morning.] Meanwhile DH will interleave 100 plates with folded napkins in between whilst he's watching T.V. He's a very useful husband sometimes.
@KedsAndTubeSocks your post made me lol. Definitely jealous. I'm dying for someone to say that to me. Funnily enough I haven't told any of my friends what I'm up to and not one of them has commented. Will be interested to see if I get any comments tomorrow night when I'm wearing the "wow" dress as there is nowhere to hide in it!

Onceuponatimethen · 28/02/2020 20:22

@recklessgran I’m looking forward to seeing the pic - love looking at other people’s cake efforts!!

Onceuponatimethen · 28/02/2020 20:24

I tried to do my weight a minute ago, but found out that my scales may not be telling the truth - the weight was 4kg different depending where in the room I put them Shock

Anyway, obviously I’m going with the lower weight, which would mean I’ve lost a bit, but I hadn’t realised my floors sloped that much. May have to start getting on the scales at the local chemist if they still have them Grin

Onceuponatimethen · 28/02/2020 20:26

@cricketmum84 I wondered about that too - i think my issue is that I prefer not to eat loads of E numbers and the shakes look so artificial from looking at the label. And I’m scared they will be disgusting Hmm
