@DownUdderer 🎉

No exercise for me today either, but fasted an extra hour. Feeling good, slowly breaking plateau.

@Howlongtillbedtime yep, it’s all bravado that gets you up the ladder. I interact with a lot of senior people (am a consultant with a fairly niche skill), and honestly everyone wings it - the higher ups are there because they are confident and are not afraid to make decisions (even wrong ones!)
They are aware of their lack of certain expertise and then hire consultants or ask their underlings for a recommendation.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 13/11/2019 11:53

Morning!

Glad to hear the fire risk has lessened DownUdderer. That must be so frightening Thanks

KOKO here, although circumstances have meant that I haven't lost any weight for a while, just losing and gaining the same couple of pounds.

However, I'm not actually regaining the weight I initially lost, & I'm all set to start to lose again when life eases up a bit.

I shouldn't really be on a 7 pounds a month thread, but I'm comfy here!

HollyTheHarrier · 13/11/2019 12:55

Hi everyone. @DownUdderer glad you are ok. Well done to those who have lost weight.

I still haven’t got back on the scales. PT tomorrow and I think he is going to do my weight and body measurements. Will be a good reset point.

Today’s plan
B- yoghurt, nuts, raisins
L - pitta, beetroot hoummous, feta, salad
D - spicy peanut pie, broccoli

Comes to just under 1200 calories. I am running tonight so will have something extra for a snack later.

WoollyFoolly · 13/11/2019 13:36

Well I'm with you @cricketmum84, had a good day yesterday and today went up to 12.2! What can you do but keep on going?!

Got a sick child at home today so routine out the window. Just had a seeded wrap with leftover teriyaki chicken for lunch, delicious. Not sure for tea, I was planning on food shopping this afternoon so will have to see what I can muster up.

cricketmum84 · 13/11/2019 18:32

Well my plan has gone to pot. Not in a bad way though. Forgot to take my latte to work so that was 4 less points than plan.

Didn't fancy my soup so I took a small leftover portion of no chick strips in black bean sauce with a little rice. It was lovely but I'm now suffering with awful heartburn so looks like they are going on the banned list with quorn!

Not sure what I fancy for dinner now? Maybe a homemade guacamole with rocket salad and a few crispbreads?

@MilesJuppIsMyBitch I’m not sure I’ll ever do 7lbs in a month, but I like the thread and am comfy here too!

Having said that, I fell off the thread Blush it’s been very busy here but I have actually been reading some posts, just not getting around to posting. Next week will be very busy too. But! I have kept entirely on track (yay!) so feeling good Smile

7Worfs · 13/11/2019 20:05

Was thinking that I haven’t seen you post, @beforeIhit30

Ihatesundays · 13/11/2019 20:35

Day 2 of back on 16:8 and i was sooooo hungry, probably because I worked out so hard last night. I did manage it though. Might have eaten a biscuit (in my 8 hours).
I’m very sore from working out last night, shows how little I’ve done in the last few weeks...
No change on scales yet.

Baguetteaboutit · 13/11/2019 20:43

I've been trying to reduce the eating window of my day but I just can't co-ordinate my life to make it work. I can extend out breakfasts till half ten but just can't get it together between all the extra curricular stuff and kids bedtimes to get my dinner out till 8pm...or later, still waiting for my rice to cook now.

On the up side, I have been eating really well and have to keep hoiking up my jeans which I'm taking as a good sign that I may have broken the plateau. I won't get the scales out till Saturday though, so who knows?

Today, porridge, apple, kale and chickpea salad for lunch and veg chilli for dinner.

DownUdderer · 14/11/2019 03:05

I’m getting really close to a healthy BMI number! I can’t wait!

Keep on keeping on everyone!

MsTSwift · 14/11/2019 06:59

Force fed a mince pie by a client literally could not refuse. Skipped lunch and did an hours turbo to make up for it. How do you tone up stomach?

Baguetteaboutit · 14/11/2019 07:08

No idea MrsTSwift, I have such a ridiculous stomach:body ratio I expect I will never have a toned belly.

Ihatesundays · 14/11/2019 07:40

A whole 0.1kg off. And starving!! And it’s cold....not a good day.

Egghead68 · 14/11/2019 07:48

69.7kg- plateauing.
Toning up stomach - I am told this works in theory: crunches, reverse crunches, oblique crunches, cycling crunches and planks. Any abs I have are hidden under so much fat I can’t tell though!

cricketmum84 · 14/11/2019 08:33

Morning all. Day 14! Work and kids stress has set IBS off yet again so I'm in pain and up a pound. FFS.

Plan for today is:
Am - Nescafé gingerbread latte
L - some sort of vegan salad box from Morrison's
D - if pain subsides enough I'm meant to be heading back to the German Christmas market so will be having a couple of mulled wines, probably will chuck a jacket potato in when I get home and have with violife cheese and some salad.

Hope everyone has a good day!

@Baguetteaboutit what about pushing breakfast back by an extra 15 mins per day?

7Worfs · 14/11/2019 08:42

This week is a write-off for exercise, and with the rain I’m not even getting some walks in. Trying to moderate food intake to compensate, but it’s hard going.

baguette 16:8 must be so difficult with a job and children’s activities. I’m thinking about what I’ll do after the mat leave, best I could think of is batch cooking on weekends and slow cooker in regular use.

Re stomach toning
Stomach toning (visible muscles) is only possible at an overall low body fat %.
The best exercise is stomach vacuums - this was confirmed by my postpartum physio, I needed is as my abs had separated (fixed now).

That said, I assume we are all mothers here, so that also adds extra skin and maybe CS overhang to the issue. Not sure there’s anything to do about it, but I’m applying Bio Oil and hoping for the best.

DownUdderer · 14/11/2019 08:51

I’m googling stomach vacuum exercises! Never heard of them, I have separated tummy muscles from three pregnancies.

I’ve had a good eating day. I would like the scales to move as I was really good today. I seem to unintentionally have one day a week of low calories, like a fast day.

Onesmallstep67 · 14/11/2019 09:35

Morning, no real update or progress here, I have been losing and regaining the same 2 lbs for about 3 weeks now it seems ! Still no TOTM so in a premenstrual/perimenopausal limbo which has been physically and mentally draining at times. Coupled with the anniversary of DH passing away it's not been the easiest of weeks. But that's behind me now so just need the decorators to turn up ( as my friend calls it ) and hopefully I can get back on the wagon to shift a few pounds before the end of the year.
Thank you again to those who always reach out to others on here with lots of supportive words and thoughtful advice. It is very much appreciated

Egghead68 · 14/11/2019 11:17

Non-scale victory! Two people at work asked me if I had lost weight today!

7Worfs · 14/11/2019 11:24

eggy 🥳

DownU good luck, it’s mostly about breathing - it gets harder to hold in position and maintain breathing.
I currently only have time for one set of ten, 10 seconds each.

WoollyFoolly · 14/11/2019 12:32

I had to look up stomach vacuum too - turns out I used to do those years ago in yoga! Have never had any stomach muscles to speak of though.
My DD is super fit and has a full on 6 pack. She gets it through lots and lots of gymnastics, acrobatics, swimming, climbing, hockey etc. She has a core of steel because it's in use all the time. I think functional exercise is more useful and probably more sustainable than exercise for the sake of it (unless you really love exercise!)

7Worfs · 14/11/2019 12:41

Absolutely true, Woolly
Gymnastics and climbing are winners for a full body workout.

Egghead68 · 14/11/2019 13:41

Having a fat and carb heavy day
B: Macaroni cheese balls 510
S: Fruit Salad 140
L: Baked potato with cheese/coleslaw/salad in a cafe ??1000
D: Nothing

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 14/11/2019 14:26

beforeIhit30 it's nice here, isn't it?

I wfh most of the time, which makes 18:6 much easier than it would be if I went out to work. I'd have to rethink then. I remember how hungry I used to get when I worked in an office.

Had yog, nuts & seeds at 9:30, then just had sausage casserole with jacket potato & spinach.

Nothing till tomorrow now.
