No change. Ate half a muffin because of my extreme hunger.
Might try and do a HITT workout... was going to go for a run but we’ve got torrential rain

cricketmum84 · 27/11/2019 18:31

Any suggestions @7Worfs? ❤️

I eat veg and pulses, no nuts, lots of water, no caffeine at all, minimal bread, no meat or dairy. I really don't know what else I could do. At my size it should be falling off me!

Hmm... if you are free on the weekend, how about eating mostly high fat unprocessed food without strict calorie restriction and do a lot of walking and swimming?

Not sure you could eat all these but: big salads with generous helping of olive oil, avocado, walnuts or cashews, tuna can in oil (do you eat fish sometimes?) or salmon, olives.
Maybe peanut butter on whole grain toast?

If not for a body jolt, it could at least give you a break from the usual food and points, so you return to it without resentment next week?

Also relaxation and (this is near impossible in December) no alcohol, it’s known to sabotage loss.

Baguetteaboutit · 27/11/2019 19:08

What's your sleep like cricket?

cricketmum84 · 27/11/2019 19:43

Haha @Baguetteaboutit sleep? What's that? Not good at all since coming off the ADs. IF I mange to fall asleep before 2am I am tossing and turning all night. I probably wake 7-8 times. Add in frequent sleep paralysis too.

OP posts:
Baguetteaboutit · 27/11/2019 19:58

Oh man cricket, that sounds like hard work. That's a hell of achievement to have maintained a diet for this long on such pitiful sleep. Have you had any sleep treatment/ interventions and have they been recent?

cricketmum84 · 27/11/2019 20:10

No sleep treatment no. I was on mirtazapine for about 18 months which is AMAZING for sleep but I was ready to come off it plus other side effects like sex drive, weight gain, mood swings weren't great. I had sleeping tablets when I was a teenager and wasn't keen on the grogginess the next day.

I had about 30 mins last night. Accidentally fell asleep during a conference call today 😂😂

@7Worfs I do really need to up exercise. I've just been so busy with work and kids that I feel like I don't have a spare second. Add in the sleep issues and I just don't have the energy.

Have asked DH to drag me the exercise bike from the back of the garage so I can do half an hour in front of the tv once the littlest has gone to bed. I would love to swim. I always enjoy it so much. Might suggest a family swim on a Saturday morning. DH is happy to play with the kidlets while I do a few lengths.

Oh the sleep situation is bad Sad
Apologies if I’m suggesting obvious things but have you tried stuff in the evenings like:
Melatonin
Magnesium
Fresh pillow case with a hint of lavender
Colder bedroom
Some of the sleep apps

Baguetteaboutit · 27/11/2019 20:25

I think I'd speak to the GP about that level of insomnia. They might do a sleep study to find out what's going on, my DH found out he had quite severe sleep apnoea like this. Not that I'm suggesting that you have that, just that you don't have to put up with shit sleep in silence. Or they might recommend CBT specifically to help.

Sleep, hormones and metabolism are so closely linked that it's like trying to push a boulder up a hill trying to lose weight under these conditions.

Egghead68 · 27/11/2019 20:34

Sorry for the really long links!

cricketmum84 · 27/11/2019 20:55

Great links thankyou @Egghead68. I already follow most of the sleep hygiene rules after reading the Paul McKenna sleep book a few years ago. Will treat myself to that book for the price though too!!

Yes @Baguetteaboutit pushing a boulder up a hill describes it pretty accurately at the moment!

STILL 19. And not expecting a loss for a few days after tonight. It's the big awards bash tonight! Haven't been told what the 3 course meal is except to ask for a veggie option. Although thinking I should have put vegan as these places have a habit of just giving all the veggies cheese laden meals!

Will probably get something bready for lunch as we don't get fed until 8.30pm and there's free cocktails from 6pm!

Have a lovely time tonight @cricketmum84!

68.7kg.
B: roasted veg, ratatouille, rice
L: Greek salad
D: Crisps and wine (out at a talk)

Baguetteaboutit · 28/11/2019 07:55

Is this the night you break out that gorgeous dress cricket? Have a blast!

B: Porridge with all the fruit.
L: chickpea curry on spinach leaves, not as awful as it sounds
D: mushroom risotto

Ihatesundays · 28/11/2019 08:22

Weight back up to 73kg. Not sure what to do. I don’t think I could eat much less.
I’m finding I am much hungrier on 16:8 this time as well.
Did a HITT workout last night. Every time I work out I can feel the difference in my body though.

cricketmum84 · 28/11/2019 08:36

It certainly is @Baguetteaboutit !

Chickpea curry on spinach sounds right up my street!

Bad luck about insomnia
Went to little event last night in tight trousers my weight loss is the talk of the town! My friends dh popped round to ask me what I had done Grin

DownUdderer · 28/11/2019 10:12

We went to the beach after school, again. Dd1 got dd2 in the mouth with a boogie board, and then she got ds1 in the stomach with it! She didn’t mean to, but she was being too enthusiastic! The kids gobbled chips for dinner! They are all super slim! I had something sensible, crackers and deli meats and a raw carrot. Not the best dinner, but I didn’t want to cook!

I’m off for a hike tomorrow, there’s going to be a big up hill at the beginning, so that will get the blood pumping.

I don’t think I’ve lost weight this week. I’ve not been super strict though.

Sorry to hear about insomnia. I listen to audio books that help me drift off. If I get up in the night for a wee, which I do maybe once or twice a night, I have to put the audio book back on, otherwise I can’t get back to sleep.

7Worfs · 28/11/2019 18:52

Bit of a hectic day going to London today, so Pret lunch and dinner on the go, with a Christmas treat too. 🤷🏻‍♀️
Back to it tomorrow!

Egghead68 · 28/11/2019 20:59

That’s great @MrsTSwift!!

Egghead68 · 28/11/2019 21:00

Sorry I mean @MsTSwift

Baguetteaboutit · 28/11/2019 21:08

I switched out my mushroom risotto dinner for chicken and sweet potatoes. Way more calories but I've had such a hungry day and wanted something more substantial. I'm still eyeing up a bar of chocolate...

DownUdderer · 29/11/2019 06:17

Did you eat the chocolate?!

I’ve had a good day, foodwise. I’ll have something healthy for dinner, perhaps veggies and cheese. I’ve had a snack of cashews today.

I’ve had a lovely long hike today.

I wonder if I can shift a pound this weekend?!
